Chapter Eighty-one

Catherine's POV

As I traveled to work in the morning, the light peaked through the windows, dappling the city in warmth. Confusion and disappointment from the day before were still there in my thoughts, nagging at me like a constant headache. I wanted explanations, and I had to approach Philip about what had occurred in the restaurant right now.

I couldn't help but notice the contrast between the outside world and the chaos inside of me as I walked up to the CT Wines building. People went about their daily business, oblivious to the psychological conflicts I was currently experiencing.

The elevator doors finally opened, allowing me to exit onto the executive floor. My anxiousness was only made worse by the hallway's clinical decor and subdued atmosphere. No matter how difficult it might be, I had to understand the truth.

I inhaled deeply as I walked up to Philip's office, trying to calm myself. I couldn't allow my emotions to get the better of me, no matter how strong they were.
