Azalea It was a long few days drive back to the west coast. We split from Steve’s team on the third day as they were headed south and we were still headed west. I was glad to get to see the twins again and had changed my look along the way. I was now a red head and I straightened my hair. I hadn’t realized how long it had gotten. I had watched some tutorials on how to give yourself freckles which I did and I switched contacts to an emerald green color. I also had Cae’leigh help me do some henna type tattoos on my feet and arms. I looked like a completely different person again. In some ways it was fun - pretending to be someone else. But I was starting to miss the girl I used to see in the mirror. Lucas shaved his beard off ( finally) and cut his hair in what I called a sexy smooth Viking. He just rolled his eyes while I laughed. Once back to our camp grounds near San Francisco I decided it would be fun to surprise the twins so while the team settled in Lucas and I went to the city t
Azalea I woke up and grabbed the things I had packed to take the forest with me. It was almost 2 am the perfect time to try and reach out. Lucas walked silently with me to the clearing I had selected earlier in the day. The moon was shining down on the clearing making it glow. He nodded to me before walking behind a tree and shifting. He came out in his full gigantic wolf form and dropped his clothes on the blanket next to me. He would return for them later either when the sun rose or when I called out for him. I ran my fingers through his fur before he took off. I placed the candles around me lighting them and then placed the bowl of herbs in between them all. I lit them on fire and took several deep breaths letting the smell of the candles and herbs wash over me before laying back on the blanket. I closed my eyes and willed my body to relax. It felt like forever had passed and nothing had happened. I sighed and sat up, knowing it was a long shot. When I opened my eyes, the clearing
Azalea I woke up slowly, my brainstill processing everything that I had experienced. The sun was just starting to peak over the trees and I called out to Lucas. It only took a few moments before he arrived . By that time I collected what was left of the candles and dumped out the bowl of now ashes. I handed him his clothes back and he took them back to the forest to shift and get dressed. Once he returned I had my things bundled and was ready to go. He looked over at me expectantly and I smiled. "She came and I have ideas now," I said cryptically. He rolled his eyes at me before turning and leading me back to our camp site. I caught up to him quickly and said "We need to get our maps out as soon as we get back and I'll explain with the maps. It will be easier for me to show you and to process it." He nodded and we walked silently back, each in thought. A few of the fae were already up making breakfast for the group and I waved at them. As we passed I asked that they have
Azalea We arrived there in the afternoon. It was actually very beautiful here by the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It would be a good place for a pack, the nearest being in Lake Tahoe which was south of Reno. I made a mental note to ask Steve which packs were closest and what their relationship with Logan was. It would always help to have more hands on deck. Miner's Canyon literally looked like it came out of an old western film, just 100 years later. Most of the buildings were still standing, though in questionable condition. We parked in the middle of the town and broke everyone into groups to explore the buildings to assess them. If this was going to be base camp I would want to make sure that the buildings were secure enough for us to spend time in. There was a hotel/boarding house, a bank, a saloon, a store, the jail, a resturant, what was probably a butchery, the doctor's office and a stage coach/post office. Everyone made a list of things that were still in working ord
AzaleaI jumped up quickly knocking the board over. Lucas frowned at me and I said “I got it. Chance was right they won’t all come for me. But they would all come for me and the council. ” I could see him processing what I said and it was taking too long. I grabbed his hand and said “Come on” as I dragged him out of our trailer and over the central head quarters.Steve was connecting wires and moving things around when we burst in. He looked up curious and I told him what I told Lucas. He told me be more specific and I thought for a minute before saying “Think about it. The old council head quarters were destroyed. This actually wouldn’t be a bad area to buy and build a new one on. It’s close to mountains , has woods and fresh water nearby. It would be good for a small pack but definitely not big enough for my pack. But for a new council area, heck maybe enough bring the enforcers head quarters here too or if you’re going to expand it like I have suggested... Think about it. Most of t
AzaleaThey decided that they would tackle the saloon tomorrow as it would be a full day project so they worked on the old doctor’s office. Once it was cleaned out we built shelves and moved some of the boxes of supplies in there. We’d get them put away later.I made a list of things we’d need from the grocery store and send a few of the fae so we could restock our supplies. We had already set up our ice chests in the larder and had all the canned goods put on shelves that we had put in across from the grilling area. I wondered a bit around the time letting my brain focus on laying out more specifics of our plan. I decided tomorrow Lucas, Steve and I would be going to Goldsmith’s Field and checking things out there while Chance led the reconstruction of the new infirmary.Once the fae returned I had Cae’leigh in charge of making sure everything was put away correctly while I went to find Lucas and Chance. They were actually hanging out together in our trailer. I told them of my plan f
AzaleaChance brought me everything for my garden and a ton of seeds for which I was thankful. It took me 2 days to set up the garden and to get it growing the way I needed. Tomorrow I would be able to harvest it for the first time. I had a spot in the larder for the fresh herbs to hang and where they could put the fruits and vegies that they picked each day.In the mean time they had had finished everything except the hotel. They had brought the port-a-potties yesterday and put them in place. Today they were building bunk beds for the buildings that were already done as well as picnic tables and benches for the mess hall. I told them that tomorrow I wanted everyone to take off as a day of rest. They’d all been working hard the last week or so and deserved it. One day of rest wasn’t going to effect our plan anyways. Chance actually invited me back to his pack to meet his luna and to my own surprise I said yes. It would be nice to meet another luna. Lucas and Steve would be here to wat
ChanceI looked over at my passenger, still worried but glad I was approaching Miner’s Canyon. I had told her that it wasn’t a big deal, but I lied. She scared the shit out of us. She looked so different than she had yesterday and it was the craziest thing to see someone who was so vibrant and feisty and full of life look like... well death less than 24 hours later. Her skin was now very pasty and the circles under her eyes made it look like someone had blacked out both her eyes. There was still some dried blood around her jaw from her ears.I shivered as I remembered seeing her on the floor covered in blood pain clearly written across her face. And to be told that she does this twice a month and has for over a year. I can’t imagine the amount of pain both her and Logan are in to take this group out.Steve said him and Lucas are waiting right out front for you my dad linked to me.Ok great thanks I replied. Also Rich called. I spoke to him for a bit - about all of this and about the p
