CHAPTER FOUR

/THE ALPHA’S SECOND CHOICE- A Bid To Hate/

~04- Unseen Pack Members

^KELVIN’S POINT OF VIEW^

I had some things to finish off. Going to wed with Lawrence’s daughter had robbed me of more paper works of the companies and packs.

I could not help thinking about how all these came by. I could see the fear and panic in her eyes when she looked me in the eye. I knew she feared me from the first day we met. The way she avoided my eyes and bit her lips; I watched it all.

I was supposed to marry that sharp-tongued sister of hers and I even had planned how I would tame her but she ran away, which was unexpected of her.

I had kept tabs on Lawrence and had also found out before he informed me. She had run away and I had my people search for her but they could not find her. She almost ruined my entire plan. Even though she was too sharp for my liking, I still needed her. I needed someone strong, not this weak kitten.

She really did a great job at hiding by the way, that I would commend her.

I shook my head and slammed the files close. Pinching the bridge of my nose, my head fell back.

This was a new hell.

A knock rapped on the door and I lifted my head. “Come in,” I said, packing the files to the side, and Steven, my Beta, stepped in. His brows were arched and I returned the gesture with mine.

He slumped down to the seat before me with a sigh escaping. “So what is the next plan? You know how dangerous it is to have her here.” He said, his eyes glinting knowingly.

I let out an exasperated sigh. And this was the hell I was talking about.

“You do not need to remind me,” I told him.

He shrugged. “Your choice. They will make an attack on her soon. You've figured out a way to protect her?"

“What is Denver doing?” I asked, evading his question.

“Some work that you gave him to do.” He replied.

I uttered a scoff. “I will be introducing her to the pack tomorrow after breakfast,” I informed him.

“Okay. I will inform them and also I have to say that our new Luna is pretty but I do not think the pack members will accept her considering what happened the last time.” He reminded me again and my fist clenched beneath the desk.

I was tired of hearing this over and over again. It haunted my dreams and filled my head throughout the night.

“She would have to earn their respect. That is her fate.” I said nonchalantly.

His eyes gazed at me. “Kelvin, as your best friend, let me give you a piece of advice.” He leaned forward on the desk. “Do not treat her the way you treated the past ones.”

I blinked and looked away. “Ask Yuna to have a joint dinner prepared. We will join you.” I dismissed him.

Without saying another word and casting me a look I did not want to understand, he stood up and left.

After spending some more time in the office, I yawned and went to the room.

As I opened the door, I saw Emma standing before the window, still in her wedding gown.

“And why are you still wearing your wedding gown?” I asked her.

She turned to me with her eyes blank of any emotion. I didn't blame her. Her boyfriend had just committed suicide.

“Apparently, you were in a hurry to take your wife away that you forgot she might need some dresses.” She said.

I scoffed and pulled out my phone. Dialing Denver’s number, he picked it up in less than a second. “Hey, get me the bags that are in the car. They belong to the Luna.” I said.

“Okay,” He simply replied before the line went off.

I could have used the mind link but since there are easier ways like using phones, why bother?

With her eyes narrowed, she took a step forward. “You... You brought my clothes?” She asked.

“Yes, I did because apparently there are no female clothes in my house,” I replied.

“This... This is your house?” She asked another dumb question again and I was suddenly tired of talking but I decided to answer her this once.

“Yes. This is my house and stop asking me dumb questions.” I snapped, my patience slipping off.

She flinched a little. “Sorry.” She muttered.

The door was kicked open and Denver carried two bags inside and placed them down.

“You should knock before entering. I am married now.” I told him through the mind link.

“I'm sorry. It slipped through my mind.” He apologized and walked out, not even taking a glance at Emma who was hesitating.

I think I prefer her sister to her.

“Get ready. We will be having dinner soon.” With that, I disappeared into the bathroom.

~~

After I was done in the bathroom, I got into a different casual wear and waited for Emma to come out of the room.

The door pushed open and she did as if on cue. My eyes ran up her body and I was satisfied with her dress. She was getting used to it.

I did not say anything as I exited the house and I could hear her following behind me. We finally got to the kitchen and Yuna, the woman who had been with me since my mother birthed me, stood in there as she stirred some soup.

The pack house and my house were built in the same place but it was separated. I had a little kitchen in my house where I cooked by myself but since Emma was here, dinner with Yuna was the next option. I wasn't going to cook for her.

Yuna’s face brightened as she saw me. I wish I could return the gesture but I have been deprived of the ability to smile or feel happy years back. She did not take offense to it as I settled into the seat.

Her eyes flickered back to where Emma was standing, waiting to be invited to sit.

When I talked about manners, I did not mean this. I was starting to be frustrated.

“You brought her home already?” Yuna asked, smiling.

I nodded positively and picked an apple.

“What is your name, darling?” She asked her.

Emma seemed to be deep in her thoughts but she jerked back to reality. “Huh? Hmm... I am Emmalyn Raine.” She responded.

Pity clouded Yuna’s face but she quickly turned her look away and directed it at me.

“You did this.”

I shook my head and fought back rolling my eyes. “You can sit,” I said and she did.

What is wrong with her?

As Yuna served dinner, we ate in silence but I could notice Emma hardly touching it. It would really dishearten Yuna if she does eat her food. That is why I eat her food.

“What is wrong?” She tapped her.

Emma jerked as she stared at Yuna before a nervous smile broke on her lips. A shadow cast on her face. I do not feel pity for her.

There was more to this.

“Yuna’s food is the top in my pack. You should eat.” I told her. Her gaze slid to me and I stared back at her.

She began to eat. Good.

^EMMA’S POINT OF VIEW^

The soup felt bitter in my throat despite how delicious it tasted on my tongue. How could I eat and pretend everything was fine when it was now?

I had lost my boyfriend who I loved dearly on the same day I got married. I did not know who this Yuna was but she seemed like a good lady so I drank the soup.

It was getting dark already, I was yet to see any sign of Denver and Steven. After I was done, I waited till I was okay to walk. Kelvin and I rose up at the same time and we both shared a look.

I have been mastering the act of submission for him and he seemed satisfied.

“Thank you for the meal, Yuna.” He told the older lady who grinned wide.

“Always.”

We walked out of the kitchen and went on the same route back to his house. I wondered why he does not leave in the pack house. This place looked so furnished that I could sleep any where.

As he locked the door to his house, my heart skipped a beat. Why was he locking the door?

Was he going to touch me?

It was not stated to me but considering the grounds that it was our wedding night, I blinked and looked away. I rushed into the room before he could turn around.

He entered after I did and gave me a questioning look. “Ermm... Are we...” I stuttered, not knowing how to complete it.

“No, we are not.” He cut in.

Relief washed through me and I relaxed.

“Emmalyn.” My name rolled off his tongue and my throat bobbed in the action. “There are just three people you are to show ultimate respect in my pack. My pack members, me, and Yuna. Yes, that cook. You must never disrespect her.” He warned, his voice carrying a deep torrent and my heart skipped.

No, I was not here to be relieved. I was here to serve as a slave Luna!

I wanted a strong Luna who will stand against the demons of my past but here she was, being the disgrace to my life.“Alpha.” They all chorused as I walked past them. I acknowledged them with a nod and scanned around the room. From my peripheral, I noticed she already rose to her feet. I paid her no attention as I addressed my pack.“I guess you all have been doing so well?” I asked. Despite the fact that other packs have been facing some casualties, my pack still remained the untouched pack. No one dared mess with me. I built this pack with every strength of mine. I wanted a Legacy and I built it firm. I did not care whatever chaos were roaming through packs,
