GINA’S POV

I focused on steadying my breath as I stood in front of the mirror, surrounded by unfamiliar women. I wore a long, tight-bodiced white dress that flowed gracefully to the ground. It didn't quite look like a wedding dress, but it served the part.

A young woman adorned my hair with a crown of white flowers, as my hair flowed down to my waist. As I looked in the mirror, the reflection of the bride stared back at me.

Her amber eyes held an unspoken sadness, yet the woman in front of me exuded undeniable strength. I braced myself for what was to come, then maybe after all this, my life would be back to normal.

The elderly woman recited the vows I was going to say. I echoed her words, careful not to falter. It wasn’t just a wedding, it was a ceremony to make me the Luna of the werewolf pack. Praya had explained that to me.

Everything about this was strange and hard to comprehend.

The door creaked open, and relief washed over me at the sight of Praya. We have become closer ever

Gina lay on my king sized bed, her petite frame barely filling half of the space. Her dishelved hair covered her face, her lips parted, and eyelids fluttering. I had carefully helped her out of her dress, leaving only her thong. Her chest rose as she breathed lightly, looking like an angel as she slept.I had tried covering her naked body with the duvet, but she kept shifting in her sleep, unintentionally exposing her body. She looked so fragile that I almost felt bad for her. Guilt lingered within me as I remembered biting her to hard, drawing blood in the process. I couldnt forget the betrayed look in her eyes; realizing that she would never trust me.I didn’t need her to anyways. The necklace Diana had given me rested in my hand. I had successfully infused her blood in it, all that was left was to place the necklace around her neck. Moving quietly to avoid waking her, I neared her, savoring the gentle warmth of her breath on my face. I got distracted as I admired her. Her features

GINA’S POV I was stronger. I could feel it in my blood, pumping through me with every passing heartbeat. And to think this happened after the marriage. I couldn't help but wonder if the new strength came from Devyn’s bite. Mates share emotions, strengths, and even weaknesses. Ironically, As our bond grew stronger, tolerating him became increasingly difficult. I recalled the punch I gave him the other night and a smirk began to creep on my face.He deserved it. And so much more. “You seem happy this morning,” Praya interrupted, snapping me out of my thoughts. “I actually feel happier; I don’t know why.” She settled beside me on the bench, “Well, you’re our Luna now, the mother of our pack. Our happiness pars with yours.” I gaped at her, a shocked expression on her face, “That sounds fascinating and terrifying at the same time, being considered as the mother of werewolves,” a chill ran through me, making me shudder. “You’ll get to used to it, don’t worry.” Liam appeared, his t

I dipped my head into the water, enjoying the gentle embrace of its warmth as it delicately caressed my skin. The sensation worked its way through me, untangling the knots of tension in my muscles from the training. When I came back to the surface, I released a deep breath that relieved my stress. With my hair clinging to my face , I pulled the strands away from my vision. My gaze fell on Praya swimming through the water at the opposite side, her vibrant red hair cascading around her. This was therapy.I recalled what her siblings had said to her about shifting and I was curious to know what they meant by that.As she swam back and leaned her arms on the lakefront, I asked.“I overheard Jessica mentioning something about not being able to shift. What did she mean?”She looked at me with drooped eyelids, and a shadow darkened her expression. “I cant shift. I haven’t been able to transform into my wolf.”I couldn't understand what it meant but it sounded like a big deal.“Is there a sp

In an empty meadow, the ground beneath me covered in grass, I found myself surrounded by emptiness. The only noticeable thing was a large tree at the center, standing alone in the meadow. In the sky above, there was no moon or sun in sight, yet, the sky was as clear as day.An unsettling chill cut through the air, causing my body to shudder. Amidst the wind, there was a faint whisper that lingered in the air around me. At first, I thought I had imagined it, but then the voice came again, grazing my ear and whispering a single word;Come.I couldn't place the gender of the voice but it still delivered the message. When the whisper echoed through the air once more, the wind seemed to carry those words till it landed on the tree.Drawn by the voice’s invitation, I focused on the tree, taking in its great appearance. It had to be the largest tree I had ever seen, with its thick bark and branches that seemed to extend farther the more I looked at it. Its green vines swayed from its limbs,

After a night of barely enough sleep, I woke up the next morning feeling utterly drained. I dreaded training today but I managed to get myself prepared. Heading to the training ground, Praya approached me. There was concern etched on her features when she saw my tired state.“You look like you barely got enough sleep,” she said, her gaze not missing any single detail.“Do I look that bad?” I asked as we did our morning warm-ups.She examined me carefully, “Err— not bad,” I yawned, “I’m so tired today.”“What happened though? Rough night with Devyn?” a cunning smirk crept on her face as she stretched her legs and knees. I felt warmth creep up my cheeks when I understood what she meant.“Gosh, no!” I shrieked and she chuckled.Though I wondered what a rough night with Devyn would be. I shoved away the thoughts, ashamed that I had even thought about it.“It was just a nightmare,” I mumbled, shuddering when images from the dream flashed through my mind. I shook my head as if to dispel t

There was a time, back when I was just a kid, I had a very bad encounter with dogs. Mrs Benson was a nice old lady, who lived alone with her three Doberman dogs. She always came to visit, and when she did, she always had an apple pie in her hand. She made absolutely the best apple pie.I would be by the door, impatiently waiting for her, and the moment she walked in, I would yank the pie out of her hands, and dash to the kitchen, yelling ‘Dad, Dad, Mrs Benson is here with the Apple pie.’She normally took her three dogs on a walk down the street every evening. She had a single leash, that extended into three places and hooked them. One particular day, she hadn't come with the apple pie and I was furious. I think I grew an addiction to her pie, because when she didn’t show up with it, how I felt was comparable to a drug addict who had their drugs taken away from them. The moment I saw her from the window, I dashed out of the house. My dad had been in the bathroom so he wouldn't have be

  • The Alpha’s Sacred Wolf   Chapter thirty-seven: Sinister

DEVYN’S POVI was informed by the elders who dwelled at the Sacred Burial Grove that someone had died. Killed evidently. The most tragic part of it all was that it was a child. The mother had gone out to search for her son when he’d gone out to play with his friends but didn't come back. That’s when she found his corpse. Death was a normal circumstance, even for we werewolves who couldn't die from common injuries and sicknesses. But death like this was far from common, and that left me feeling uneasy.‘What is the situation over there?’ I sent a telepathic message to Liam who responded almost immediately.‘It’s worse than I thought, like nothing I’ve ever seen.’Not sure of what to expect, I braced myself for the worst. Wilona couldn't tag along since she was occupied with Gina’s training, leaving only me and Liam for the task. The burial grove was on a sacred site, positioned not so far away from the sanctuary. It was designed that way to aid the journey of departed souls to parad

  • The Alpha’s Sacred Wolf   Chapter Thirty-Eight: No love

GINA’S POVAfter my training session with Wilona, I was too tired to head back to the training grounds to meet Praya. Instead, I went straight to the house, my legs weakened from the run, and my lungs still recovering from the strain of labored breathing. When I got back, Devyn wasn’t at the dining like I had expected him to be. I felt kind of disappointed at his absence. The sweet aroma of Lucia’s cooking hung in the air and I followed it to the kitchen. I walked into the kitchen, and greeted Lucia who stood by the stove, working her magic as always. She cast a glance at me, “How was training today?” she asked and resumed her cooking.“Great actually,” I replied as I pulled out a jug of orange juice from the fridge. “Hungry yet?”“Yes, please,” I said as I gulped down a glass of juice in a few seconds. Lately, I had the appetite of a dog. No matter how much I ate and drank, it wasn't enough, as if my stomach was an endless hollow space.I was about to leave the kitchen when I stop

GINA’S POVI found myself in a field, lying as I gazed at the skies. I wasn't sure where I was, but it felt and looked like paradise. The moon’s gaze met and I felt a sense of serenity. A hand suddenly caught my attention as it reached out to me. Without hesitating, I took it and I was pulled off the ground. As I stood on my feet, my breath hitched when Praya stood in front of me.My heart warmed as I pulled her into an embrace. “I missed you so much. I’m here now,” I whispered into her neck, breathing in her scent. She was real because I could feel every part of her; from the beating of her heart and the warmth radiating from her body. When I looked in front of me, my mother was standing there, waiting, with a genuine smile on her face. We pulled away from our embrace and Praya held my hand, guiding me further into paradise as she spoke, “Now we can be together.”I followed, my heart radiating with joy. I pressed a hand to her bloodied chest, trying to stop the bleeding while I caressed her hair with my other hand.“Stay with me, please, stay with me,” was all I kept mumbling. Her amber gaze held mine, but she wasn't there… she wasn't looking. My heart twisted painfully as I felt her heartbeat slow against my palm. Standing on my feet, I carried her in my arms. She felt heavier than usual, her head fell back and her arms sagged lifelessly as I ran. She was still alive, though her heartbeat was faint. There was still a chance to save her. The fight had stopped as the monsters fell dead, probably because their master was dead, but I couldn’t care less… reviving her was the only thing on my mind. I never took my eyes off her face, hoping for some sort of miracle, to see those eyes come back to lif

Everything seemed and looked normal, yet, it was far from it.When the car came to a halt, the driver who had been silent the entire ride opened the door for me, and I stepped out reluctantly. As the door opened, we stepped into the mansion, walking through wide long halls. When we reached the next doorway, the door swung open, revealing a majestic dining room.
