Chapter Thirty-Eight: No love

GINA’S POV

After my training session with Wilona, I was too tired to head back to the training grounds to meet Praya. Instead, I went straight to the house, my legs weakened from the run, and my lungs still recovering from the strain of labored breathing.

When I got back, Devyn wasn’t at the dining like I had expected him to be. I felt kind of disappointed at his absence. The sweet aroma of Lucia’s cooking hung in the air and I followed it to the kitchen. I walked into the kitchen, and greeted Lucia who stood by the stove, working her magic as always.

She cast a glance at me, “How was training today?” she asked and resumed her cooking.

“Great actually,” I replied as I pulled out a jug of orange juice from the fridge.

“Hungry yet?”

“Yes, please,” I said as I gulped down a glass of juice in a few seconds. Lately, I had the appetite of a dog. No matter how much I ate and drank, it wasn't enough, as if my stomach was an endless hollow space.
