Chapter 4: Mate's Scent

Connor's POV

I've been searching for my mate all over the packs in here, but still keep failing. Hopeless is what I could feel, not until I remember that there's one pack I skip to visit. Maybe, I could find my mate there. I didn't waste some time and started traveling through the pack. Just in a couple of hours, I already arrived and began the search. They recognize me. Well, they are because I'm the popular Alpha's son of the neighboring pack. 

“That scent, damn.” I stop walking when I smell something that caught my attention. 

My mate's scent! 

“This is what I'm looking at. She stayed in here and I have to follow where that scent came from.” I mumbled and making my moves hasty. My brows furrowed when the scent, lead me inside the palace. She's staying in here, and I wonder who would that be. 

I stop walking when I already can smell her. Two women caught my eyes. The first one was the Alpha's daughter and the other one was maybe her slave. My gaze turned to the Alpha's daughter, and I'm certain that the scent I smell came from her. 

She was my mate!

My mate's scent, it's so hypnotizing. I could feel my wolf react inside my body when we smell that scent, and who will think that the Alpha's daughter would be my mate? 

The woman besides my mate caught my eyes instead of my mate. Damn, I don't know why it happened? My eyes should be towards my mate, but then I can't stop looking at her. 

“Who is she?” I asked myself and my head suddenly turn in the other direction when someone called my name. 

“Alpha Connor, I never thought you were here.” It's the father of my mate. He saw me and when I turn my head in the direction of the two women, they left already. 

“I just wanted to visit your pack on behalf of my father, Alpha. One of the reasons, I have also decided to be in here is that, I'm still looking for my mate.” I uttered and still not telling him that her daughter was my mate. 

“Is that so? Why don't we have a sit in the dining area?” He asked and I nodded my head. I'm certain that my mate and her slave were still in this place. Her scent could still be smelled. 

“If you'll excuse me, Alpha because I have to follow someone.” The Alpha still calling me, but I didn't turn my head to him. I continued walking away and will find the woman with my mate. There's something with her that I couldn't explain. I was rushing to find her, not until someone bumped into me. She was about to fall to the ground when my reflexes were so fast. I grab her waist that prevents her from falling. 

“Are you alright?” I asked the woman and got amazed when I find out that it was the slave with my mate earlier. 

“I… I'm fine. Thank you for catching me.” She replied in her reddened face, which made my brows furrowed. This woman is a slave of my mate, and I'm certain about that because of her outfit. 

“Are you sure?” I asked, and she nodded her head countless times to agree with me. 

“If you'll excuse me.” She mumbled and leave without giving me the chance to know her name. 

“Wait? What's your name?” I asked her, but she didn't stop running. A deep breath escapes from my mouth because of her. “Oh damn. She's the one I am looking at.” I have almost forgotten that the slave was the one I'm looking for, and she already left. Well, maybe I have to change my plans. 

The strong Alpha scent is still there, and I have to follow where the scent came from. This scent came from the Alpha's daughter and will help me to know that she was my mate.

My mate is not yet eighteen years old and her wolf didn't come out yet. It only means that I have to stay in here until she turns eighteen and her wolf already came out, so we could start about our mate bonds. On the other side, I felt like complaining about that thought, but I just shook my head and continued walking. 

I suddenly stop walking when I'm already in the room where the scent came from. Using my left hand, I slowly push the door and saw the Alpha's daughter with the slave on her side, serving her. My eyes locked on the slave and I couldn't explain why. 

“My husband told me that we have a visitor.” I stood up properly when someone speaks behind my back. It's the Luna. 

“Yes, and I guess the Alpha already told you the reasons I'm here. I just found my mate, but I will tell you about it sooner.” The Luna opened wide her eyes from what I have uttered. 

“That's great, Alpha because your mate stayed to our pack.” She uttered in her shocked reaction. “But may I know who's the lucky woman?” She asked which made me laugh. The Alpha and Luna of this pack were my friends. This is not the first time I've become their visitor. 

“I will announce it sooner, don't worry.” The Luna just chuckled from my response. 

“We already prepared your room here in the palace, Alpha. I will ask someone to bring you food tonight.” The Luna uttered, and I nodded my head responding to her. I continued walking away from the room where my mate and her slave stayed. The image of the slave cannot remove from my mind and then, I can't even understand why. There is something in her that I don't understand. 

“The Alpha's son of our neighboring pack was here.” I stop from walking when I heard that familiar voice. It's just the beta of the Alpha. 

“Do you want anything from me?” I asked and tries to lower my tone. This man is making my blood boils. He was about to speak when something happened which made my mouth agape. The slave of my mate slipped her feet and which makes the water to be thrown towards the beta.

Damn, she was in trouble!
