After our shower, we both get dressed and head to the kitchen. Tyson starts the coffee and I pull out breakfast ingredients. I’m not sure when Patty has the time to go get groceries, because she is ALWAYS in the diner. But we have all the supplies for homemade biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage, and eggs. Not to mention, we are up early enough for me to make it all. I tie my hair back and quickly get to work. Tyson pours me a coffee and adds my vanilla creamer, exactly the way I like it and places it within arm’s reach of my workstation on the island.

As I roll out the biscuit dough, “you have to work today, don’t you?” I ask.

“Oh, it’s okay Tyson. I can’t expect you to take days off to be with me, as much as I enjoy them. You took off so much time while I was in the hospital, I’m sure it set you back substantially.
