I crossed my arms and pouted my lips childishly. He sighed at me as I shook my head, telling him that I refuse to get out of the car. My brother sighed and ran a hand down his face. "Please don't make this harder than it needs to be" he whined.
"I refuse to exit said vehicle without a full, thought-out, apology" I stated glaring at my brother.
"I am sorry" my brother sighed.
"For what?" I promoted him. He growled in annoyance, a feral and animalistic noise. He was trying to intimidate me, it didn't work.
"I am sorry for breaking your record player" he mumbled grumpily.
"And .. "
"And for dropping the plate in the restaurant and blaming it on you" he added through gritted teeth, his eyes darkening in anger.
"Thank you for apologising" I smiled genuinely at him, I leant across to his seat and kissed his cheek softly. He instantly soften at my affection, despite his moods I was always his weakness.
"Right, come on, it is our first day," he said before he pulled me out of the car. He locked the car before we headed into the school. The first day of school, no one likes the first day at a new school. Especially when you start half way through the year.
People eyed us with curiosity and suspicion as we walked through the schools corridor. The school was no different from any other; cliches, cheery posters, rows of lockers and moody receptionists. "Can I help you?" the receptionist, with short grey hair, demanded her eyes narrowing at us.
"Yes it's my sister and I's first day" my brother smiled at the woman, her face softened slightly. My brother was always like that, he could charm his way out of any situation. He was just born with natural allure and charisma, something I hadn't worked out yet.
"Names?" the woman asked.
"Mason and Allison Brandson" he said pointing at himself and then me. I smiled at the woman as she nodded and began rifling through stacks of papers.
"Right Mason" she said, handing a schedule to my brother, "you elected to take; Chemistry, Maths, Computing and Physical Education" she read off the sheet. He nodded. My brother, as well as being Incredibly good-looking, was also like a number wizards. He was a genius when It came to Maths and other quantitative based subjects.
"And Allison" she said looking at me, "you elected to take; English Literature, Creative Writing, Theatre Studies and
Physical Education" she said and I also nodded. My brother may be good with numbers but I was better with words.
We thanked the receptionist, who grunted in reply, and walked back into the school corridor as we compared schedules. "Well we have the same Physical Education lessons" he smiled at me, "so I'll see you for lunch and then we'll go to the lesson together, yeah?" he asked and I nodded.
"See you later Mase" I told him as I looked down the corridor trying to find my locker.
"I'll meet you by your locker at lunch," he told me. "Oh and Allison" he stopped me from leaving by grabbing my arm, "make sure you stay under the radar, we don't want a repeat of last time" he whispered.
"I know I will, I just-" I was cut off as a scent filled my nose. Mason smelt it too as his eyes bugged in shock. We both knew that smell; Werewolf. I gulped and he took a shaky breath. "We should leave" I hissed at him in worry.
"No, we can't just bail. Then it will be obvious we're running" he replied. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. "1 scouted the area, I didn't catch a pack too close ... I guess I was wrong" he sighed, cussing himself.
"It is fine, Mase" I reassured him. "We'll just keep our heads down and get on with school. We're not trespassing so no one can say anything. The pack wolves may not like it, but we aren't breaking any laws".
"Not by being here anyway" he added with a frown. "I'll meet you for lunch, anyone gives you any trouble, call me" he ordered me. I nodded before I walked away from him and to my locker.
After that I made my way to my English Literature class. I walked in and discreetly took a sniff. No wolves in this class luckily. I sighed as I took a seat near the back. Both Mason and I were Werewolves.
We came from the Prima Moon pack, the strictest run pack of all. The Alpha is harsh and violent and is feared by all. My brother and I were on the run from the pack, we had been for almost a year.
The life of a rogue is hard sometimes, but my brother is always there to look after me. He is only six minutes older than me, but he acts as if it is six years. I didn't mind, because I liked him looking after me, even if he went a bit far sometimes. But since being on the run, I needed someone to look after me.
Being a rogue is not only hard, but also dangerous. There have been many times when Mason and I accidently crossed onto a pack's territory or have been attacked by other rouges, but luckily Mason and I were strong so we managed to fight well enough. He was a better fighter than me, although I was better than most she-wolves.
The teacher walked into the lesson, his hair messed up and slept on. He sat at the table and began taking attendance. "Allison Brandson," the teacher said my name and scanned the room.
"Here" I muttered, raising my hand ever so slightly. He smiled at me and ticked my name. The other students watched me curiously for a few seconds before they faced back to the front, as the teacher began the lesson.
I was lucky there were no wolves in my Creative Writing class either. So the morning wasn't that eventful, which I was glad for. Mason met me by my locker at lunch. "How was your morning?" I asked him as I threw my books into the locker more forcefully than necessary.
"Typical" he told me, "I saw a few wolves though" he said and I stiffened.
"What happened?"
"Two of them cornered me after my Maths lesson, tried to take me out. I knocked them around for a while then let them go" he shrugged like it was no big deal.
"You alright?" I asked him as I began checking his Injuries.
"Fine" he laughed at my worry, "Alli stop worrying, I'm fine. They were just pathetic boys, no strength at all. I felt almost cruel for knocking them about ... almost". I shook my head at him, in slight amusement and slight disappointment, he gave me a cheeky grin before we found a bench to sit at to eat our lunch.
By the time lunch was finished I was worried about mine and Mason's Physical Education lesson. I knew there would be a lot of wolves in this lesson. I took a deep breath as I headed Into the girls changing room. As soon as I walked in I smelt Werewolves.
I didn't meet anyone's eyes as I quickly changed into my gym clothing and shoes. I had worked out, by their scents, that in the changing room there were three female wolves with me. I could feel their eyes burning holes in my back. I tried to steady my racing heart as I turned to meet their looks."Got a good enough look yet?" I huffed, my wolf getting riled up for a fight. She was ready to taste blood."You have no right here rouge" one of the girls hissed, her hair so blonde it looked almost white and eyes a dull grey."I have every right that you do" I replied, crossing my arms over my chest and sticking one of my hips out."Our Alpha may not own this territory, but our packs treat this land like our own. We wouldn't tolerate rouges here" another girl growled, her face turning as red as her hair."Leave now and we'll let you live" the third wolf said, her blonde hair pulled into a tight bun. I sensed that she was the strongest of the three wolves, but she still had nothing on me or
I shifted into my large wolf, my coat a light brown almost red colour and my eyes a dark black. My wolf was bigger than the average she-wolf, just like Mason's wolf was bigger than the average male wolf. Mason's wolf was the same colour as mine, but his was a lot bigger and bulkier than mine. My wolf was a lot more streamline and delicate.I collected my jeans and shirt in my mouth and jogged out from behind the tree, Mason close behind me. The Alpha, Brody, had also shifted; his wolf was a dark black and was a close size to Mason's.Brody ran over to me and growled, his eyes wondering over my wolf in happiness. He rubbed his head against my neck and I growled in response; a happy, cheerful growl. Mason rushed over and pushed Brody away from me. He stood in front of me, blocking Brody from me. Brody growled at him in anger, Mason returned the growl.Boys, I thought to myself before I rolled my eyes and pushed Mason's side with my head. He got the idea and gestured, with his head, for
I woke up and stifled a yawn. I heard a groan next to me and turned to see Mason stirring from his sleep. We still hadn't finished unpacking, so we were sharing a mattress on the floor. "Good morning starshine the earth says hello" I quoted to him. He gave me a look, Mason wasn't a morning person."I hate you" he grumbled and I chuckled."Well I was going to make you pancakes for breakfast, but now ... " I trailed off and his eyes shot open."Love you" he said cuddling up to me."Uh huh" I rolled my eyes at him before I got up. I changed into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, I wasn't exactly the type of person to dress up. I whipped you some pancaked before physically kicking Mason off the mattress. He swore at me for a continuous two minutes before he saw the breakfast and shut up."You know there were pack wolves stalking our apartment last night don't you?" Mason asked between mouthfuls. "Your stupid Alpha boyfriend had them watching you, as if I can't look after you just fine by my
As we ate I noticed someone waving at me. I squinted to see a small brunette rushing over to our table. "Hey Marissa" I greeted her as she sat down on our table."Hi Luna" she smiled at me."You can call me Alli you know" I informed her."Well in that case, hi Alli"."Sorry, who are you?" Mason blurted rudely, I kicked him under the table for being so rude. He glared at me but stayed silent before turning back to watch Marissa closely."Brody's sister ... we met yesterday" she said trying to remind him. He gave her a blank stare, not recalling her face at all. "You and my brother were having a tug of war over the Luna and I pulled her away," she prompted."Alli" I corrected her quickly."Oh right yeah sure" Mason shrugged, I could tell he didn't really care. Lunch seemed to drag, most Marissa talked and everyone listened. Mason and I felt the most uncomfortable, both of us not used to being around other wolves. We were used to the rouge lifestyle, and the rouge lifestyle was used to
"Wait what?" I squealed as I grabbed Brody's arm to stop him before he opened the bedroom door. "Your parents?" I gushed worriedly. I had only just met Brody, I wasn't prepared to meet his parents yet. My mate's parents. "Hey" he chuckled, slipping his hand under my chin and forcing my eyes up to meet him. "They'll love you" he laughed before he leant down and pecked my forehead before he moved away from me and opened the door. "About time son." A man chuckled as he walked into the room, a woman followed close behind him. The man was tall and with Brody's dark hair and eyes, it was obvious he used to be an Alpha from the way he held himself. He wore a designer suit and tie. The woman had blonde cropped hair behind her ears with small blue eyes, she was tall for a woman. She was also stunning. "Oh hello" the woman noticed me and gave an uneasy smile. "Do you mind if you leave us for a while? My son and I need to talk" she smiled awkwardly at me. "No" Brody spoke up, slipping his ar
I whimpered as he pulled away and he put his hands on my hips to stop me grinding into him. "Mine" he said, his eyes were black as I'm sure mine were. Both of our wolves worked up and wanted to mate. I tried to kiss him again, but he moved away. "Stop, no more" he whispered as we both caught our breaths.I began to feel rejected, knowing that it was too good to be true. He didn't enjoy it like I had. He wanted to stop because he thought it would be better. I shouldn't have been surprised. I wasn't skilled like all the other girls he's been with, I was a pathetic excuse for a mate. I knew that I shouldn't have been surprised. "Baby what's wrong?" Brody demanded, slipping his hand under my chin and forcing me to look into his eyes; they had returned to their chocolate brown colour. The colour that I loved so much. "Nothing" I mumbled, my eyes tearing up and my heart hammering nervously. I knew he was going to reject me. Why wouldn't he? I was an awful mate. I wasn't pretty. I wasn't e
I rolled my eyes as I saw Mason leant against my locker with a sour look on his face. As soon as he caught my scent his head snapped in my direction. He sighed and an easy smile fell onto his face. He pulled me into a tight hug as soon as I reached him."I missed you" he mumbled as he rested his chin on the top of my head. I chuckled as I cuddled closer into him. Mason and I may have only spent one night apart, but we had never done that before. Ever before we went rogue I used to sneak into Mason's room to sleep because I didn't want to be by myself.I hadn't really thought that much about Mason last night, Brody kept me distracted. But as soon as I woke up I felt his absence. I excepted to see his moody morning glare, but instead I got a toothy grin from Brody. I wasn't complaining I loved the way Brody smiled and kissed me good morning, but I did miss my grumpy twin."I missed you too Mase" I chuckled as I pulled away from his embrace and pecked his cheek softly. Mason leant forwar
Charlie and Lennon led me out the forest and back to the school. Lennon opened the car door for me and I climbed in the back, the couple climbed in the front. The drive was awkward and silent. "I just don't understand how you could fight like that" Lennon mumbled."Just practice" I shrugged, not wanting to talk about it anymore. The subject was touchy for me, it was not something I was comfortable talking about. Because talking about my wolf ended up with a conversation about being a rogue, which ended up with a conversation about my life before I went rogue. And that was not something I wanted to talk about, because that would mean talking about him. And he was not something I wanted to talk about. Ever."I mean not even I could take on three male rogues without shifting" Charlie chatted away, "and I'm a Beta"."Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong it was awesome" Lennon continued as he nodded in agreement with his mate. "Like the way you just like -. ""Enough" I snapped at them and they
Brody returned a few minutes later wearing a black suit. His eyes zoned in on me, his eyes going up and down my exposed body. Unlike a few months before I didn’t squirm away out of his gaze. I still wasn’t comfortable with his outright staring, but I was getting better – he was making me more confident in my own skin. Brody cleared his throat and looked away. “As much as I really don’t want to leave you here, when you’re naked, but I was an hour late for the meeting yesterday. I can’t be late again” he sighed before bending down next to the bathtub. “You look after yourself and our pup”. He kissed me quickly before standing up and leaving. Once I finished in the bath, I got out and changed quickly. “Alli?” I heard a familiar voice from downstairs. I smiled as I bounded downstairs to find a group of people inspecting the broken tables and chairs in the lounge. Mason, Corey, Jessica and Dylan were all waiting for me. “Hey” I smiled at me. “Finally we’ve been here forever” Jessica exc
There was a long moment of stillness between Brody and I. I stayed sitting on the bathroom floor and he stayed standing in front of the basin; positive pregnancy test in hand. Brody was the first one to break the silence. “Are you crying because you’re unhappy?” he asked me, slight pain in his eyes.“What? No” I exclaimed, jumping to my feet. “I’m crying because I’m scared Brody. I’m so scared” I told him, my bottom lip quivering as I fought back another swarm of tears.“But you are happy?” he asked, making no attempt to move forward towards me; so I stood still, wrapping my arms around myself.“I want your child Brody, I do. But I’m just scared I’m going to fuck it up. I don’t know the first thing about being a mother, and you don’t know the first thing about being a father. I’m worried that we – mostly I – are going to fuck the baby up…just like my parents did to me and my brothers”.Brody placed the test back into the sink and took a step forward. He stopped in front of me – I quic
I woke up sore and squished against a naked man. I groaned loudly trying to get out of Brody’s death grip. “Brody” I complained, my face pressed against his solid chest. Brody moaned in his sleep and nuzzled close into me. “Brody” I yelled louder and his eyes shot up. He sat up instantly, his eyes running over the area for any sign of danger.“What? What’s wrong?” Brody shouted; his eyes full of worry. I giggled at him, happy his hands released me from their tight grip.“Sorry” I chuckled, “you were squishing me. I’m sorry”. There was a pause as Brody fully woke himself up before he turned back to me.“Sorry Baby” he muttered – through a yawn – before he pulled me back to his side. “I love you” he mumbled as he pecked my forehead. “You look beautiful right now”.“Sure I do” I said in a sarcastic tone, rolling my eyes as I tried to move away from him to go to the bathroom. Brody held onto me tighter with a playful growl of warning.“You look amazing. You’re all sweaty and hot” he growl
A week later both packs knew of the upcoming merger; some were happy, some were not. A lot of Aplin Moon members were opposed – not because they had anything against Brody and I, but simply because they didn’t want to move.Brody had decided – as the new owner of Aplin Moon’s territory – to sell the area and buy more land near us, extending our land for the new members. He had been busy talking to builders and contractors to build another three pack houses and another pack village. Brody had extremely under estimated just how big our pack would become with the merger.I had been without my mate for a week and it was killing me. I was; emotional, lonely, constantly on edge and incredibly sexually frustrated. Brody and I had talked twice a day, but it was still not enough to settle either of our wolves. He was a lot more on edge than me, what with all the stress he was on, and everything seemed to agitate him.So when Thursday rolled around and Charlie returned to the pack, I packed up
My heart was pounding with both nervousness and excitement. Despite everything, I was my father’s daughter. I loved to fight. And as much as I hated to admit it to myself, I loved to kill. The feeling of exerting my power over others in the most animalistic way was a thrill that I couldn’t help but love. I didn’t like to show it, but my wolf was cruel and vicious. After all I she was an Alpha.I was shifted into my large reddish-brown wolf, running to meet the other people who would fight beside me, when I reached the left border the smell of unfamiliar wolves filled my nostrils. I skidded to a stop behind a tree and pulled on Brody’s shirt that I grabbed before leaving his office. It came to my knees and made me look even tinier. When I stepped out from the tree, Zeke flanked me on one side while Lennon occupied the other. There were about twenty-five wolves from my pack planning to fight, but only five of them were trained fighters. From Aplin Moon there were about twenty fighters,
By the time I managed to make up with Lennon – after he had screamed at me when I trashed Brody’s car – it was Tuesday. It was he who finally swallowed his pride and apologised, let’s face it I would never be the one to be the ‘bigger man’ as people often put it. My pride was way too important to me – it was a horrible trait I got from my Alpha blood. My brothers were no different.Tuesday was a hard day for me, because I knew that the next day Brody planned to attack Aplin Moon. Brody remained confident that we had the upper hand, but it didn’t settle the butterflies in my stomach. At one point I had been so nerves I had thrown up my breakfast; Zeke was not happy with me, he claimed it was ‘a waste of the delicious pancakes he had slaved over’. I simply flipped him the bird.“So what do you want to do today?” Lennon asked after I brushed my teeth again and re-joined them in the lounge.“Nothing that will stress Brody out, he doesn’t need that right now” I mumbled in reply as I lay do
I continued to shout at my idiotic brothers, but it seemed they both have some unspoken agreement to ignore me. “I swear to all the gods” I screamed as I followed them into a clearing. Brody wouldn’t be happy with me because the clearing was not part of our territory, but that was the last thing on my mind at that moment. “Are you both out of your freaking minds?”I curled my fists together – fighting the urge to beat them both up myself for their colossal stupidity. When they finally stop in the middle of the clearing, the fighters had to hold me back to stop me from running to them. I knew one of my brothers was about to die; and that did not sit well with me.“Just please stop it” I screeched in a high pitched and strained voice. I was over whelmed with emotions; anger, worry and sadness. “Just stop” I said again, this time my voice a mere whisper lost in the morning wind. I was crying by that point – silent tears – as I watched my brothers square each other up. All my nightmares w
I never thought I’d see Brody cry, but as he looked over his prized Porsche, I swore I saw a tear in his eye. He took a deep breath, his hands shaking in anger slightly; his eyes not moving off his car. It was taking all my willpower not to snigger. The car was trashed. Scratches, dents and scrapes covered the paintwork of the car, and the bummer was hanging off at an odd angle as well as every window being smashed. To say Roderick and I had destroyed his car would have been an understatement. As soon as I told my brother what had happened he went crazy; thus the car.“I…you…huh?” Brody muttered to himself, his eyes not being able to leave the car. I looked behind where we stood – just outside the pack house – to see half the pack were watching with nervous expressions. They thought Brody was going to flip. I did too. In fact, I was waiting for it.Brody closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he turned to me. “Did you get hurt?” he asked me through a heavy breath; he was trying
“I know why I’m mad at you, but why are you mad at you?” I bravely asked.“Because I let my anger get the better of me. You seem to have this effect on me. You not only bring out the best in me, but also the worst. When I am around you I am; loving, caring and affectionate. But I am also; jealous, possessive and domineering”.“Don’t forget horny” I mumbled.“Yes and horny” Brody chuckled quietly. “But it can flip from one to the other” he sighed, heavily turning onto his side so he was facing me. I mirrored his movements so I was staring into his beautiful brown eyes. “Allison, I’m not a mind reader. If you are upset about something or angry about something you need to tell me. I won’t know if you don’t tell me”.“I love you” I blurted out, “but at the same time I also kind of want to punch you most of the time”.“Believe me the feeling is mutual Baby” he replied and an involuntary chuckle escaped my lips. “Can I ask you a question and you not freak out and we end up fighting again?”
