Chapter 52

Veronica's POV:

Tears streamed down my face as I ran up the stairs. My heart pounded hard against my chest and my knees buckled as I got to the top of the staircase. I couldn't believe what I just heard and somehow, I hoped it was just a figment of my imagination.

Was Lucas really using me as a sex toy? Why would he be using me as a pawn to get the throne?

I don't stand any chance of being the Luna of the Nightshade Pack since I've never shifted into my wolf form, which means I can never be a threat to the throne. Everything I just heard didn't make sense to me.

I thought Lucas loved me as much as I did love him but now it was all clear that I was just one of his flings. It all began to make sense slowly. The entire Matilda story was never a lie. Lucas and Matilda had something going on but how was I so dumb not to realize that the red flag has been staring at me all this while?

As I walked into my room, I felt the whole space spinning and my breath was caught up in my throat. I collap
