Lucas' POV:

"Are you being serious right now, mom?" I questioned. I can't believe that my mom was asking me to seduce my step-sister into falling in love with me.

"I know it sounds awkward but that's the only option we have left", she paused as her eyes quickly darted to the door.

"If she falls in love with you and eventually chooses you as her mate, you still get a shot at the throne. Think about it Lucas, the Luna's mate is the Alpha, and irrespective of whoever that person is, he will be the one to lead Nightshade Pack" she added.

"Mom, I'll have to think about this," I said as I stood up and made for the door.

"Lucas", she called out, making me stop in my tracks briefly. "I'm sorry for making you do this," she said with an emotion-laden voice.
