Chapter 82

Avery's pov

I looked around the hall, the ball was going pretty great. The drinks were amazing and the music was fantastic. I was really impressed and apparently, this was all my mother's work. I was stuck between praising my mother and laughing at my father for his nonexistent taste in…. Everything.

I walked around the hall making small conversations. I approached a group of people that were talking about the champagne and I greeted them,

“Hi, I wanted to thank you all for coming. It means a lot to me.” I said with a smile.

They all smiled back and they looked stunned. I tried to stay around to have a casual chat with them but they ended up just talking about me and I had to leave with the excuse of greeting others.

I repeated the same thing again and again as I greeted as many guests as possible. I caught my parents looking at me with wide obnoxious smiles on their faces and I blushed. Didn't they know that they looked creepy?
