Chapter 4: At the Woods

I went out from my apartment and take the way to the woods. I walk silently until I felt someone is following me.

“Patricia, where do you think you’re going?” Vivian cried and held my wrist.

“Here,” I coldly said which made her frowned.

“There’s a bad vampire attacking innocent and helpless werewolves in here. And you’re a normal human, how can you protect yourself?”

“I can handle myself and I don’t need your concern? Isn’t it clear?” I yelled at her which made her stepped back.

“Leave me alone, I just want to be alone.” I calmly said, and I look at her. She’s wiping her tears before she turned her back from me.

I feel guilt, yet I have to do this. This is for her own’s sake. One day, she’ll wake up hating me. She’ll realize that I am not worthy to be her friend. Because I am a wolf less werewolf.

“I thought you’re with Alpha Laurence.” From my back, I heard Jarred’s voice.

“What are you doing here?” I asked him when I saw him sitting at the branch of an Acacia tree.

“This is my place. How about you? What brought you here? Seems you hate friends,” he said and jumped to my side.

“None of your business.” I started walking but he pulled my wrists.

“Better stay here. You’re not safe going anywhere else.” He warned me.

“I’m just a wolf less but that doesn’t mean I am weak.” I raised an eyebrow to him, but he only laughed.

“You know what Patricia, you’re so keen and brave. You deserve to be the Luna,” he whispered.

“If I were you, make the Alpha fall in love with you deeper. In that way, you can avenge the pain and embarrassment your father gives you. Prove yourself to them,” he added.

“Can you really see my past?” I asked him.

“I can, and I can feel your pain. The Alpha is the only cure to the curse,” he added and then disappeared.

What curse is he referring to? Am I cursed? He told me once that I am a late bloomer, and now he mentioned about a curse.

“I thought you’ll have a rest. Then why are you here, honey?”

“How did you find me?”

Alpha Laurence smirked at me while walking. “Of course, I can trace your smell. Have you forgotten that I am an Alpha?”

“Well, good for you.”

“Are you trying to escape from me? Oh, come on, you should be proud being my girlfriend,” he boastfully said and laugh.

If not only Jarred, but I will also never accept that deal. I will never let myself being just used!

“What are you thinking? I can’t even read your mind,” he complained.

“And why would you read my mind? You’re really a cheater,” I answered and flipped my hear.

“Stop seducing me,” he said seriously.

“What? I’m not!”

I was shocked when he held my me on my neck. Oh, crap what is he planning to do? “Your lips are calling me. I am addicted to them. You smell like my mate, “he whispered unto my ears giving me a goosebump.

"Stay away from me.” I tried pushing him away, but he is too strong. “Don’t mark me, I am not your mate!” I warned him but he just grinned at me.

“Stop it Alpha! You’re scaring me!” I yelled and he burst into laughed.

“Why? Are you virgin, Pat?”

That question turned my cheeks into red. “Yes, I am. And you don’t deserve to take my virginity!”

He laughs again and look directly to my eyes. “Do you know that I have the power to choose my mate? The full moon is fast approaching, and if my mate still did not accept me, I will turn you to a werewolf,” he whispered again and slowly lick my neck.

“Yuck!” I pushed him away and wiped my neck.

“Soon, you’ll beg for it, honey.” He winked and wrapped his arms around my waist.

“You have to be strong to qualify as a Luna, and I will train you as early as now.”

“I don’t want to be a werewolf!”

“Why? Because it is a curse?”

Jarred’s voice echoed on my head. Maybe he is right, I have to use the Alpha to awaken my wolf. But what if I really don’t have a wolf? If he tried to convert me, it will still be useless, and he will caught me off guard.

“I’m sorry, I’m just you know, I can’t really understand things about this since I am just new here.”

“Werewolves serves as the protector of human,” he stated and smiled. Really? He is smiling again?

“How about vampires?”

“Why? Do you find vampires, cooler than us?”

I shook my head. “No of course. I’m just curious, how did werewolves become friends with vampires?” I asked due to curiosity.

“We have a deal, a collaboration between werewolves and good vampires. This started the time I saved Prince Jarred. Our enemy is the bad vampires,” he explained.

I would rather be willing to be part of their pack than ours. They have mercy and heart.

“What if your mate suddenly accepted you. You’ll set me free from our deal?”

“If that happen before the full moon, yes, I will set you free. But if not, you’ll be mine forever,” he answered seriously.

There is a part in my heart that feels weird. I don’t understand.

“Who is your mate?” I asked him but he shook his head.

“You know her,” he answered but I am still clueless.

Could it be Vivian? But it is impossible.

“Can I ask again?”

“Of course, don’t be scared of asking.”

“Is it normal for a werewolf to be wolf less?”

He looked at me seriously which made my heart skipped a beat. “Of course not, but some werewolves are late bloomers. Their wolf will not be awakened not until something triggered it. Why? Do you know someone that is wolf less?”

“What if you turned me into a werewolf and I will be a wolf less werewolf, will you consider me as a disgrace?”

“What? That would be impossible to happened. Don’t overthink Patricia. I am sure that if you became a werewolf, you’ll have the most beautiful and strong wolf.”

Those word broke my heart. It made me feel sorry again for myself.
