Chapter Thirty Eight

Kelsey struggled to open her eyes but felt its soreness. There was a non-stop beating going on in her head and the lumps underneath her eyes were still there.

She staggered out of the bed to her feet and clung to the door knob. She turned around and supported her back against the door. She opened her eyes and her vision wasn't clear enough. She managed to stand firm. She opened the door and began tracing her way down the stairs.

Kelsey felt her joints aching. She could barely see her surrounding. The wares weren't manifesting properly before her eyes. She gradually climbed down the stairs and entered the first room she managed to see.

"Aunty Kate, Uncle Ben" she cried out but there was no reply.

She went out of the room and moved to the next. "Peter? Are you there? Is anyone at home?" she screamed at the top of her weak voice.
