Chapter Seventy Four

A few days turned into a week, a week turned into a month and now the competition was just in a few hours. Kelsey was nervous but she was trying her best not to show it.

“Are you ready?” Denis asked fiddling with the handle of the tiny suitcase he packed for the both of them.

“I think this things is broken.” He yelled and pushed it aside. Kelsey watched him, too hazed by her own worries to laugh at the man-child in front of her.

“It’s not broken, you have to push the button on the top to pull out the handle.” She said and showed him.

“I didn’t know there was a button, it wasn’t bold enough, anyone would have missed it.” He said and quickly folded his arms, he was a tad too defensive.

“Sure.” Kelsey answered wryly.

“Are you ready?” he asked again and she nodded.

They were to first assemble at the training ground, all the competitors and their trainers were to leave in buses prepared for them by the host pack.
