They drove in silence as Kelsey directed Alpha Dennis to her house, he couldn't stop looking and exploring her face as he drove to her house.
Kesley's house was the far opposite Alpha Dennis's house; that would be a long drive for him as he would have to driveway back down the road to his house.
She was grateful for the favor, but she felt terrible for causing him such inconvenience.
"Thanks for the trouble." She said,
"The pleasure is mine." Alpha Dennis smiled; he didn't see it as being inconvenienced; he was rather glad he could help out. More so, he'd just almost run her over; what better way to apologize.
The car got silent again, and Alpha Dennis tried making small conversations attempting to ease off the silence in the car.
"How are your sister and her husband?" He asked her and cringed at how absurd the question sounded.
"They are fine."
"I haven't seen them around in a while." He said.
"You should have seen them tonight; they both attended the ball party held in Troy's honor." She replied.
"I didn't notice; I was in a hurry to leave. You weren't at the ceremony?" He asked her.
"No." She replied to him plainly; she seemed shy to be speaking to the Alpha of the pack she lived in; Alpha Dennis noticed her hesitance.
"Is there a reason for that?", Dennis enquired , there must be a reason she missed the mating ceremony, and he wanted to know.
"Uhmm....nothing much", she hesitated at first but continued, "I had lots of work to do at home and I had to go to the market", she responded.
Alpha Dennis sighed, "Well, I don't think going to the market is an excuse," he disagreed.
Kelsey chuckled, she was surprised that he caught her lie, "That is true", she blurted out, "I couldn't attend the mating ceremony because I don't feel comfortable around the pack members," Kelsey finally said.
Dennis looked at her, his eyes widened, he wasn't getting why anyone would be uncomfortable around the pack, "Why?, I don't understand why you are uncomfortable," Dennis was confused.
"They don't really see me as one of them since I'm human," Kelsey said and hung her head in disappointment.
Dennis sighed, "Why do you think that?, I mean why would you think they don't see you as one of them?" he asked.
"I know your parents and they were both wolves, that's enough reason for you to be a part of us." He added.
Kelsey kept her head bent, "I don't have a wolf in me so they don't really see as a part of them," she grumbled
Dennis understood what she meant, he looked at her and smiled, "You might have misunderstood, but if you think it is that way then I will say sorry on behalf of all the pack members," he apologized.
Kelsey's jaw dropped. Once again, he didn't expect an alpha wolf to be apologetic towards her, especially one who was rumored to be fierce and quite terrible. "It's okay, it's not your fault," she responded and smiled back.
Dennis looked at her and different thoughts ran through his head, he thought she was cool to be with.
"Moreso, I will be going back to live with the humans very soon so there's no need to be sorry", Kelsey muttered but he heard her.
Dennis stopped the car and stared at her, "You are going to live with the humans?", he asked, his eyes widened and his mouth widely opened.
Kelsey smiled, "Yes, I'm more like the humans and I don't even feel like the people here. I will go live with the humans and make more money", she explained.
Dennis sighed, he knew she had already made her decision and it would be hard to change it, "Will you like to go out for a drink or maybe dinner. This might be the last time we will see since you will be living with the humans soon", Dennis joked and stretched his hands to her.
He couldn't explain the sudden attraction he felt for her.
Kelsey stared at his hands for a while, "Is he maybe asking me out for a date?", she thought to herself and smiled, "Sure", Kelsey replied Dennis and shook his hands as they drove in silence to the restaurant nearby.
The guards at the door welcomed them in as they walked into the restaurant.
"I don't want to go in there", Kelsey said and stopped at the door.
"Why?"Dennis asked, he cranked his eyes.
"They are all Werewolves, they don't see me as one of them", she grumbled.
Dennis held her hand, "I'm right here", he assured.
"You know who I am," he boasted.
Kelsey tucked her hand in his as they walked into the restaurant, they took their seats and placed their order.
They ate in silence, Dennis kept looking up and taking a glance at her whenever he got the chance while Kelsey was making sure she avoided eye contact with him.
Dennis allowed her to gulp down her last glass on wine and stood, "Shall we?", he asked, his hands stretched out.
Kelsey took his hands as they walked to the counter, he cleared the bills and they walked out of the restaurant. They got into the car and zoomed off.
Different thoughts ran through Dennis's head as they drove, he looked at her and loved the way she smiled. He had always wanted a mate and he thought Kelsey would be a good mate if she were a wolf.
Dennis was tired of getting humiliated by other Werewolves for not having a mate, he doesn't feel anyone and so he wanted to make someone pretend as one and he felt Kelsey would be the right choice.
They turned into the fifth street and Kelsey pointed, "Right there", she said, pointing to the black gate of her house.
Dennis pulled over and removed the key from the ignition, he wanted Kelsey to know what he felt and if she would like to. Kelsey opened the car door to get out but Dennis leaned over to her side and closed it back.
"Wait a minute", he said and took a deep breath, "I have a question", he added.
Kelsey looked back at him with a big smile on her face, "Is everything okay?", she asked him.
He hesitated at first, he thought he would be messing things up if he told her immediately but he couldn't stop himself, "Yeah...yeah sure", he responded.
"Okay, so go ahead, ask your question," she urged.
Alpha Dennis took a deep breath again.
"I..I.. I was just thinking..you know I was just thinking... if...ummm...I was thinking if you could pretend to be my mate" he blurted out.
Kelsey's eyes widened, she almost fell out of her chair when she heard this, she couldn't believe her ears. An alpha was asking her to pretend as his mate. She turned to Dennis, "You are joking right?", she asked, it was obvious she was confused "No, I'm not", Dennis responded "Just stop joking. You are trying to make fun of me right?", Kelsey asked again "Of course not", Dennis disagreed, "I'm not joking, I am so serious about this and I want you to pretend as my mate, just for a while", he confirmed. Kelsey stopped and stared at him for some minutes, "But why do you need a fake mate?", she mumbled Dennis fell back to his seat, he placed his hands on the car steering wheel and sighed, "I am 24 already and I don't have a mate, I can't even feel her unlike others who can feel theirs. My Beta, Troy got mated to his mate today but I still can't feel mine", he ranted Kelsey could understand his pain as she was in the same situation, she knew how it felt to see others getting mated
The evening sun cast long shadows on the ground. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the sky.The night crept up and the sun ducked down behind the buildings and under the fence, refracting golden hour through the alleys and illuminating the walls, the sky was ablaze with the fire of the setting sun.The night sky was aglow with bright city lights and the occasional barking of faraway dogs broke the silence of the night.Right inside the house was Kelsey, she was preparing the meal and doing the dishes at the same time.Kelsey took a deep breath as she did her chores, she knew she would have to face the wrath of her sister's mate if she didn't finish up what she was doing before he got back.Kelsey kept up with the dishes, she washed them as fast as she could so she would be able to meet up with the time which was fast ticking. She heard the ding sound of the bell and ran to the door, she knew it would be her sister and her mate. She sighed before opening
Kelsey trembled in fear as she walked out to get Alan's bags, she was already uncomfortable with his presence. She walked to the car and carried his luggage, she kept her head bent to avoid eye contact with Alan but she couldn't, "Hey", Alan called.Kelsey looked up at him and smirked, she looked at Sean and quickly faked a smile, "Welcome", she replied and picked the bag up again.Kelsey walked past Alan but he held her hand, "Won't you give me a hug", he said with a naughty smile. She looked at him with a horrible gaze and tried to move again but he pulled her back, Kelsey looked at Sean whose hands were on his back, he was watching them. Kelsey was scared she would get Sean angry if she didn't do as Alan wanted."Come here", Alan murmured and pulled Kelsey to himself. Kelsey stood still, she was uncomfortable in his hands but she couldn't do anything. Alan's left hand was wrapped around Kelsey's waist and his right hand swung on her back. He moved his hands up and down on her back
That was her only chance to get the money she needed. She packed the plates back to the kitchen and did the dishes, she walked back to her room and fell on the bed.Tears rolled down her eyes, she wanted to go live with the humans, she wanted to go away from the packs and especially away from Sean and Alan, she was tired of getting beaten up and maltreated by his sister's mate, and she wanted to go away and live her life but Sean was always on her way.She wiped her tears and stood up from the bed, Kelsey walked to her small box, she picked up her robe, and walked into the bathroom. She rested on the walls of the bathroom, she couldn't think of what to do and how to get away from the pack, she wanted to get away from Sean and his brother as fast as she could but she wasn't able to come up with a plan. She walked under the shower and washed her body thoroughly, her tears mixed with the water and flowed down her body, her body was filled with scars from Sean's beating. She picked up her
Dennis walked down the stairs to meet his Gamma and Beta, Fred and Troy."Hey Dennis", Fred said and hugged him.Dennis was surprised by his actions, "Is everything okay?", he asked."Yeah, yeah sure. I just feel good today", Fred responded and took his seat.Dennis was about to take his seat when his phone rang, he looked at it and it was a call from Kelsey. His heart skipped a beat, he held the phone to his ear with a prayer of hope in his mouth, "Hey", he said."I would like to see you", Kelsey replied, "Can we meet in the same restaurant?", she asked. Dennis kept mute for a while, he didn't know if he heard right, he thought he would never get a chance to talk to her again. He was happy he would get to convince her to take up the offer. "Yeah, yeah sure, see you in five", Dennis responded and cut off the call.He rushed back to Fred and Troy, "I have to go somewhere", he said and turned to leave."Hey", Troy called, "But we have a meeting now", he added. "This is so important t
Kelsey walked home from where Dennis dropped her, she didn't want him to know why she accepted his offer.Kelsey wanted to keep everything to herself until she finally has the money to go live with the humans. She got home to meet Karin in the kitchen making dinner, she didn't realize how fast the time went by. "Where were you Kelsey?", her sister asked.Kelsey stood still as she thought of an excuse, "I..I went to the market", she lied.Karin looked at her but she couldn't believe what she said, she had no bag of groceries, "To do what? you went to the market two days ago", she nagged "I forgot to get something", Kelsey replied briskly and started walking to her room, "I will join you soon", she added and rushed to her room. She fell on her bed and looked outside the window, she looked at the beautiful stars and wished her life was as beautiful as the stars. She changed into a short playsuit and walked back to the kitchen to join her sister. They chat as they prepare the meal. Altho
It was the next morning, the pale blue sky was floating with white clouds, the breeze blowing the leaves beside the road, the birds leaping back and forth on the tree, as if telling people that a new day had begun. The birds chirped on their trees and they made a rhythmic sound.Dewdrops, rolling along the dandelion and clover dreams, splashing a piece of transparent sunlight. In a golden squeak, hatch a dawn that is no longer wet.Kelsey yawned and rubbed her blurry eyes, she rose up from her tiny bed and stretched. She was happy the day she had been waiting for has come, she was happy she would be able to get away from Sean and his brother and very soon she will be out of the pack. She jumped joyously, her face showed how excited she was to start the day. She carried her bags and put them in a place. She rushed to the bathroom and took her bath, she hummed a song and danced under the shower, her happiness knew no bounds. She stepped out of the shower and dried her hair.Kelsey appli
Kelsey ran to her sister and picked her up, she tapped her cheek but Karin wasn't responding, "Hey, hey wake up", she said.Karin's eyes were still shut. Kelsey laid her on the cushion and ran to the kitchen, she opened the refrigerator and took a bottle of water. Kelsey ran back to Karin and sprinkled the water on her face.Karin opened her eyes almost immediately, "What...what ..what happened", she stuttered.Kelsey gave her a weird look, "You passed out", she replied. Karin cranked her eyes as she tried to remember what happened. She remembered real quick but she still couldn't believe what Dennis said, "Did you say Kelsey is your mate?", she asked.Dennis looked at her with a smile, his white teeth flashed at her, "Yes I did", he responded."Are you sure she is the one?", Sean asked and looked at Kelsey disgustingly, "Are you sure you are not mistaken?, I mean who would want someone like her as a mate", he added.Dennis growled, he saw the way Sean looked at Kelsey and he wasn't
