Chapter Eighty

Kelsey made her way back to the hotel, still processing what had just happened. She danced with them, she talked with them — even though most of it were lies, but she still thought better of them.

She saw light seeping through the door of their room, Denis must still be awake or maybe forgot to turn off the light. She took a deep breath before opening the door, she didn’t know why but she did.

Denis was in the same position he was when she left. Had he not moved at all? She examined his body, he was wearing different clothes now so he definitely has not been in the same position for almost half the night.

“How did it go?” He asked looking at her expectantly, he seemed to do that a lot these days.

“You were right.” She said tiredly and she saw the look on his face go soft like he felt bad for her. She was expecting him to gloat and say I told you so but he didn’t, he just stared at her consoling her with his eyes.

“Are you okay?” He asked and her eyes watered.
