Amelia
The grass in the school field ruffled over my bare feet like an eager puppy trying to get its owner's affection. I tug my feet further into the green grass while walking to get home. Hands clasped over my books, and a sinister smile stuck over my lips. I believed it was all the signs I needed to know that the convergence would go in my favor. The members of my pack talked about these signs, saying it only happens when something deep inside of you is being answered, and I couldn't be happier knowing that the moon goodness had heard me and probably answered me. The convergence was an annual gathering here in the Crescent pack where young boys and girls from different packs came to find their mates. This year, I was going alone because my stepsister Sane, an arranged mate of the Alpha of Star moon pack, was going to have her mating ceremony the next day. I giggled at the sweet thoughts of my boyfriend, Ryan, who had given me a word that he was going to mark me at the convergence, but my heart had leaped into my mouth when I bursted into a crowd of young wolves my age. There should be about fifteen of them or there about, clustering not so far from the school gate. My eyes flashed into darkness, as I heard sounds of their murmurs which alerted me that I was being watched. Of course I should be. I was that poor prey everyone picked at. I guarded my books properly, preparing to take on my heels because I could tell what was about to happen, but before I could make a move, a dark wolf bursted out of the crowd, three more joined it immediately, all guarding me. My breaths shut down, while I take involuntary steps backwards. The four wolves surrounded me as if I had stolen something from them. Sane, their leader leaned over me. I hadn't seen her earlier. She snarled, her legs kicking on me, scattering my books to the floor. "Do you think you can play your stupid games with my best friend's boyfriend and go Scot free?" Her hands landed on my cheeks and I was almost going blind. She tossed her blonde hair and giggled at the confusion that had arisen in my face. It was something she loved seeing. Sane was my stepsister, but that didn't stop her from recruiting people to bully me at every given opportunity. "I don't know what you're talking about." I scowled, trying to pretend not to remember that Andrew had made passes at me at pack's arena last night. I had sneaked out of the house to take a glimpse of the dancing preparations for the convergence, and just like always was approached by one of the guys, Andew. My charming beauty and curves never failed to announce my presence and this was something I hated most about myself. Everyone believes I'm gorgeous, but I'd give anything to be as lean as a stick just to avoid the attention I get. "You're going to pretend you didn't hear us, mute?" Lori, Andrew's girlfriend, stood closer, folding her hands into what looked like a rag. "It's not what you think, swine!" I howled back, something I wished I never did. "Oh you're talking back to us?" Andrew stepped out of the bigger crowd, his gaze highly deadly and my breath caught in an alarm. Was it not the same Andrew that had begged me tirelessly to be his girlfriend last night?" He tossed his big jacket on me, " catch." He commanded as he watched it fly over my face. There was a loud laughter from the crowd as everyone seemed to be enjoying what was going on. I didn't know who had pulled me again, but a loud slap had followed before I was tugged to another person. "You all will pay for this!" I cried. "Why don't you fight for yourself, Miss Perfect?" Lori sneered before pulling the jacket off my face. I had landed to the floor with the last kick, my books and bags scattered over me. And before I could get hold of myself, I was left alone to nurse my wounds. The ladies never liked me, I was a threat to their beauty and that was understandable, but why the guys? They literally find a way to beat me up each time I turn down their advances. I was now left alone and all that cared to happen was the tears that poured down my cheek. "I'm fine Laura, " I howled at my wolf who wanted to feel pity for me. It was of no use. I had learnt to stop feeling pity for myself. This wasn't the first time I was getting humiliated. It took me just a few seconds to get over what had happened. I was going to get claimed anyway. That was enough consolation. The thoughts of my boyfriend were enough to sweep me back in an elated mood. A wide smile spread across my lips and quickly, I got on my feet, heading home. I was going to get dressed and sneak out immediately. My stepmother should never see me, else she would find one of her evil ways to prevent me from going. My father didn't care much. He already gave his word. "Get mated tonight or be sold." Getting rid of me was all that mattered to him, and that was my punishment for being birthed by a human mother. I was a weak omega with human blood, and it was considered horror in our pack. My father was an elder and hates me so much for being a product of his mistake. I got to the venue and suddenly I became nervous. This will be my first time coming to the convergence as I had just turned twenty one and have come of age. As I walked into the crowd, I had another nauseating feeling that everyone was watching me. I swallowed uneasily, the prickling awareness causing goosebumps all over me. "No...no it's all in my head." I stated, then looked around to search for Ryan, and realized that everyone was indeed watching me. I froze at the spot. The smirk in their faces, and the mocking chuckles caused my head to spin and I wished for the ground to open and swallow me. "I knew you would fall for it!" Sane snapped, and began to walk towards me. She wasn't supposed to be here, but I don't know how she managed to be. My legs took a few steps backwards, before it finally froze. "You were so desperate to be mated, that you couldn't tell it was a trap all these while." She sounded, displaying a mocking expression. "No, it can't be, where is Ryan, we-we planned on -" My eyes followed Sane's hands towards where Ryan was standing, causing me to witness the very disaster I was scared of the most. He was standing beside another girl, their hands wrapping around each other in an intimate way. "It has been planned all along?" I scowled, tears gushing off my amber-brown eyes. My pulse flamed up with pain and rage. All these while, it has been Sane's plans all along. "Do you even use your senses? What makes you think I'll mate a weak omega like you?" Ryan's voice came, crashing the remaining self esteem I had left, while the rest of the crowd laughed uncontrollably. "I reject you, Amelia Lockwood." He groaned. I watched my whole world crumble before me. My chest tightened hard and the red burning in my wrist sent me excruciating pain. I have the burning wrist. It was a curse as a result of my half human nature. It was one of the main reasons I wanted to mate badly, because I heard when a half human mates a full wolf, the full wolf absorbs human nature and the curse is broken, at least that was what the rumor said. "I accept your rejection, Ryan Leonard." I whimpered. My chest was heavy and heavy downpour flooded from my eyes. Immediately, I turned to the exit. I was about to take to my heels when a set of perfectly built men blocked my way. "I'm helping your father sell you off immediately." Ryan said evilly. "How about we save the old man the stress, don't you think so?" He glanced at Sane and all I saw was the evil smirk on her face, and her head nodding emphatically. "No, you can't, you can't do this to me." I struggled to break off the men's grip but their chains had caught my hands and my legs. Ryan being Alpha Leo's son and the next heir of Crescent pack, he had the power to do whatever he wanted. "Take her away, far away from the Crescent pack." His voice commanded. His eyes were evilly dark and his voice was a groan. The carriage finally came to a halt after a couple of hours and it was obvious we have left the Crescent pack. "Out!"A voice commanded, and quickly opened the door for me.Considering my size, I struggled to crawl out of the door, just as I got in.My body, vibrating in pain."Where's this place? Who bought me?"I bellowed, trying to act tough. But the men looked at each other and bursted into laughter. "You want to know who bought you?"One of them asked mockingly. Now I stood like a dumb fool, lost in confusion as I tried to make sense of what was funny."Where are you taking me to?"I cried as one of them pulled the chains towards a wide path. His face was so tense, and aside the foolish laughter, I noticed he hadn't said a word since they captured me."Ha, ha, ha, you'll soon find out who bought you. "The younger one sounded. "And where is this place? This is the Star Moon pack."The mention of the star moon sent a wave of fear over my body as I began to connect the dots con
"This is for setting me up!" Oliver howled on my face and I bent down immediately. "You don't take that face away until I say so!" He grabbed my jaw to face him, making me watch him dress up. "Aside from the fact that you know how to satisfy me, do you know why else I agreed to this?" I watched his gaze scrutinize my body, tempting to dissect me into tiny pieces. Those eyes were no longer the ones he showed me that night after the sex, this one was attempting to kill. "I don't want to trigger a werewolf war!!...I know tradition and I keep to it." He stated. "I don't want to be your slave anymore, please let me go." I whimpered. It was day three of being in the Star Moon pack and Oliver turned me to his personal slave. I'd serve his food, clean his space and above all satisfy him whenever he wished. He didn't also forget to rain insults on me each time he gets down from me, reminding me of how worthless and valueless I was. “You set me up on purpose, didn't you?"
Alpha Oliver I laid on the brown sofa at my balcony, my eyes over the large cities of my pack. It was my favorite spot as it helped me clear my head every evening. Being the Alpha of a large pack like mine has been tasking, it's was more daring than I thought it would be, adding to the fact that I have a curse I'd live with for the rest of my life. Ethan, my personal guard, walked up to me with a distressed look on his face, "The slave carriage just entered the palace, and they're headed towards Julius quarters." He said, panting heavily. He must have run to deliver the message considering that everything about Julius is treated as an emergency. I quickly rose to my feet, without saying any word to Ethan, and was on my way to Julius quarters. Julius is a leader in my pack who takes pleasure in buying slaves and subjecting them to various ill treatments. Yes, I know we were supposed to stop him all these while, but that was because my father found a way to protect him and
Amelia. My eyes widened immediately I heard the words come out of the great Xavier's mouth, and my eyebrows narrowed quickly. I felt my palm sweat and I swallowed uneasily. My chest began the irresistible rhythm, while I watched Alpha Oliver protest against what his father had said. "No, Father!, you can't possibly say this." He protested, his face almost turning red. "You have marked her, haven't you? And you know what the tradition says." "And who cares about tradition that much, dad?" There was a brief silence in the room, as the Great Xavier stared deeply into his eyes, "you remember what happened the last time we went to war?" Alpha Oliver retracted immediately, his shoulders shoved down, and his eyes narrowed. I couldn't tell what the war was about or what might have happened, but I could tell that his father's words were like cold water which flooded down him. "Alright father. I'll do the rightful thing." There was a brief silence, followed by the mild smile on O
My back laid against a cold stone, my breath, battling the heavy stench which hung in the air. The air was frigid, and I found myself shivering in this gloomy room. I attempted to lift my head from the stone as soon as I was about to move my body, but my face struggled with cobwebs. I pulled it off, as I bolted for the available exit which was a dark door that led to a barely illuminated room Range of broken tables, and chairs, laid on the floor, the walls laced with broken mirrors at about every centimeter. Suddenly, I felt an uneasy pricking that someone was watching, and when my eyes flashed over the mirrors, my reflection casted a wave of fear down my spine. "Who is there?" I croaked, voice bathed in fear, gulping. I felt a breath caress my shoulders. The stench of rotten meat became stronger and my heart begged to jump out. I turned quickly, but there was no one there. My breath still hung in agony. My legs searched for another exit, but the more I walked, the long
I turned towards the door immediately, but no one was there. And when my hands ran over my body, there were no more wounds. I ran to the mirror immediately, to my surprise I was now looking normal. I had no cuts whatsoever, neither were my eyes blazing black. I sank on the bed, wondering what was going on with me. How did I manage to get those wounds, the blazing? And who comes to heal my wounds all the time? I sat up, pulling out the jewelry I had, about to dash into the bathroom. I didn't have any more time, I was made to make my first appearance at the grand function this morning by 10am and it was already 9am. I didn't know I had slept this much. As I stripped off the remaining pieces in my under, and about to make my way to the bathroom, I heard a click on the door. Fear sprang over me, I had forgotten to lock the door. But the sight of the Alpha sent a soothing caress over me. He was the only man who's presence had such dominance on me. His face had a warm smile
The rope pulled me against every stones and woods that were on the road. My body sustaining injuries in the process. "Who are you?" I whimpered as the pull sent excruciating pains over me. "You'll soon find out." A deep voice sneered, not bothering to look back. "I am Luna, let me go now! Or face the wrath of my crown!" I roared, my voice determined to scare him, but he didn't bat an eye, instead, he increased the force which he dragged the rope. Shortly, we were approaching a big stone on the floor, "watch-" My words were cut shut as I hit my head on it. All I could remember was my vision going blurry and I drifted into a deep sleep. I woke up in a very dim room, brewing cold. My hands tied with a heavy rope to the ceiling, and my legs hung in the air. I could barely see, but I felt a band over my head, and blood stains on the collar of my jacket. I had no idea of how long I had passed out, and how much blood I had lost. I was now extremely tired. Suddenly
"Oh my!" I cried as blood gushed from the heads on the floor. The sight sending shivers over me. "This is gory" I muttered, eyes shut immediately, but the sight didn't stop playing various scenes in my imagination. "Are you Okay?" A masculine voice asked after he ran back to where I was tied like a goat, panting, he said "one of them escaped, shit!" "Oh, you're hurt. " He said, his concerned eyes running over me. My eyes were still shut, while I shook like a leaf. "You're in safe hands now, and you can open your eyes." He promised. I struggled to open my eyes, body still vibrating terribly, and the first thing my eyes saw was the most charming eyes I had ever seen. His blue eyes ran over me in concern, making sure to convince me that he was totally harmless. His hands flew to the ceiling immediately and in a matter of seconds I dropped to his body, my hands hurting. "You're bleeding so bad." He reached towards Amy's body on the floor and tore some pieces f
He pushed the door further after my hands left it, his legs walking into the room."Where have you been?"His voice growled again.I stood fixed at the spot, not knowing what to say.His eyes ran over my body. I was naked, but it didn't move him like the other times."Have you gone deaf, Amelia? You were meant to appear at the function with me, weren't you?"He asked, while his eyes desperately searched for answers. "I-I'm sorry, I stepped out because I had an emergency."I stammered, but he wouldn't buy it ."What stupid emergency do you think is more important than what we had today?"He watched me go dumb again, then he hissed."Don't bother, I'll find out where you have been myself. "He snapped and began to walk towards the door.I chased after him, "wait.""I- I want to ask you something. "I stammered. I didn't realize I was this scared of him.My heart began to beat faster as soon as I tried to speak, being so scared to mention the things I had in mind.He turned to face me,
