‘They’re apologising to me? Did Zayne also tell them to do this?’ Layla thought, staring at him from the corner of her eyes. His face was stone cold as he glowered at the other werewolves.

“W-we… shouldn’t h-have done what we did, and we hope you f-forgive… forgive us. W-we promise to n-never… come close to you a-again.” The leader wept, bowing so deep that it seemed that his back was going to break.

The four of them looked the same way Nyssa had. Beat down, tired, depressed, and terrified.

“Um… Ok.” Layla muttered, twisting her lips. What else was she going to say? She just wanted them to be out of her face, and it didn’t help that the entire cafeteria was ogling at them.

“Now, scram!” Zayne barked, and they scurried away, tipping on their feet.

The entire cafeteria came alive with whispers and she sighed. ‘Why is it that every week something with me in the middle always comes up for people to talk about? It’s tiring.’

“So you had a little talk with them too?” Layla asked
