Chapter 4

Trinity's POV

Antoine seemed to sense my doubt. "Is there anything wrong?"

I quickly raised my head to look at him and then lowered my head again.

"Nothing." I shook my head.

When I saw his watch, the first idea that came to my mind was, "Did he steal it?" After all, he didn't have a decent job. How could he afford to buy such an expensive watch?

But Antoine's expression was calm, and his eyes were clear. He wouldn't be that calm if it was a stolen watch.

So, I quickly threw the idea out of my head.

Then, I heard the elder say, "Bride and groom, now you can walk into your family and accept their wishes..."

The elder didn't finish his words. He was like being choked. He grabbed his throat with his hands and his face turned red too.

I looked at him in confusion, wondering if he needed help. He was probably too old.

But it didn't take long for him to recover.

The elder calmed down and then said in a hoarse voice, "Let's pass the unnecessary procedures. Now, the groom, you can kiss your bride."

I didn't expect it and I wasn't prepared. I was so panicky that I subconsciously wanted to withdraw my hands.

Antoine sensed my nervousness. His hands tightened their grip on my hands so that I couldn't run away. Then he whispered in my ears, "Why are you so panicky? Haven't you kissed a man before?"

I gave him a glance with dissatisfaction.

It seemed that I didn't have another choice, so I closed my eyes and waited.

A slight kiss fell on my forehead. So light that I almost couldn't feel it.

I opened my eyes in surprise and saw Antoine smiling at me. He didn't have any intention of going further.

I let out a sigh of relief. Somehow, I also felt a little lost.

Antoine held my hands the whole time during the ceremony. I guessed my face was red as an apple the entire time.

When the ceremony was finally over, I tried to pull my hands back. This time, he didn't insist.

My hands still had Antoine's temperature. I didn't know what to do and could only lower my eyes.

It was the party time after the ceremony. All the guests began to drink and dance. Even the elder held a cup of wine in his hand. He looked pretty relieved now.

Some younger werewolves had already drunk and shifted to their wolf forms. They chased on the grass and then suddenly dived for each other.

Donald and Marisa were entertaining the guests. They had forgotten about me.

Briana walked to me. Her eyes kept staring at Antoine.

I had to admit that I wasn't in the mood to talk to her at the moment, especially with Trystan beside her.

Briana stretched out her hand toward Antoine. "Hi."

It was her standard smile. Briana was pretty, and she knew it well. She never hesitated to show her allure and enjoyed people's admiration for her. It was like a game to her, which she always won.

Usually, I didn't care. But Antoine was my husband, although I didn't love him at all. The last thing I wanted to see was my sister flirting with my husband.

I frowned. But I knew that Briana wouldn't care.

Antoine didn't reach out his hand. He just nodded and said indifferently, "Hi." He seemed to be not interested in Briana.

Briana hadn't been treated like this before and was unhappy. But she adjusted her expression quickly.

She hooked her arm around Trystan's and turned to me. "Congratulations! Trinity. I'm so happy for you."

I forced a smile. It was the best I could do.

Briana continued, "I am beginning to look forward to my wedding. You will come to my wedding, right? Please, I will be so happy if you two can come."

I had to use all my strength to prevent myself from getting mad.

"I'm not sure. We'll see if we can make time then." I do my best to make my voice calm.

After saying it, I glanced at Antoine from the corner of my eyes, hoping that he wouldn't mind that I answered on his behalf.

Antoine had no expressions on his face. It seemed that no one around could get his interest.

I couldn't help but wonder if he was not satisfied with this marriage too.

Trystan suddenly interrupted, "I'm Trystan. My father is the Alpha of the Lutz pack. If you need a job or something, you can come to me." He said it with his eyes landed on Antoine.

Trystan's tone was not kind. It was more like a provocation. I didn't know why he suddenly came out to say something like this.

Antoine raised an eyebrow and said indifferently, "The Lutz pack? I haven't heard about it."

Trystan was irritated, "How dare you be so arrogant? You're just a bastard who can't even afford to buy a ring."

Trystan was so angry that I once thought he would shift to his wolf form and have a fight with Antoine.

Antoine would definitely lose, because Trystan, as the son of the Alpha, was very strong. I hadn't seen anyone who could beat him.

Antoine's face darkened.

I sensed a dangerous aura arise.

"Trystan, stop," I shouted and took a step forward between Antoine and Trystan.

It was the first time I spoke to him after that night.

"Don't say that to my husband again, or I won't let you go. And we don't need any help. We can live a happy life with our own hands."

My tone was determined. Trystan looked at me in disbelief.

I ignored him and looked at my husband, Antoine. He was also looking at me. But his expression softened a little.

The dangerous aura faded.

I didn't want to stay any longer, so I grabbed Antoine's hand and pulled him to leave directly.

When we walked out of the pack house, I felt all my energy had gone. I dropped Antoine's hand and stood on the spot blankly.

He lowered his head and asked, "Why do you stop?"

I said in a low voice, "I don't know where to go?"

Antoine blinked his eyes and then said solemnly, "I don't like others to stand out for me. Don't do it again."

"Sorry." I lowered my head, biting my lower lip.

After a while, I finally heard Antoine chuckle, "Let's go home."
