Alora’s POV

I sat there on the edge of the bed, my heart pounding in my chest. Every second felt like an eternity as I anxiously waited, my mind racing with the uncertainty of what Rune was going to do next.

My hands fidgeted in my lap, my fingers tangling together as I tried to steady my breathing. But it was impossible. The tension in the air was suffocating, thick like smoke, and it choked me as I sat there, waiting for him to make his move.
