Nova’s POV.

I stood outside Karen’s room, my heart racing. Our previous meeting is still fresh in my mind, her words echoing: "Stay away from my son."

I decided to meet with her and confront her about Alexandra’s curse and how I felt bad for him; it wasn’t his fault.

I could tell he was avoiding me; I hadn’t seen him around since the incident, and honestly, I don’t blame him; having to carry such a burden around must be tough.

Taking a deep breath, I entered the room.

Karen looked up, surprise flickering across her face. "Nova, I didn't expect you to return."

"I couldn't ignore your warning, Karen," I said, my voice firm.

She leaned back, a calculating glint in her eye. "I assumed you'd see reason. You're here to accept my offer, then?"

"Offer?" I repeated, shaking my head. "No. I'm here to talk about Alexandra."

Her expression faltered, and for a moment, I saw a glimmer of unease.
