Melody is a rare white shifter who also leads the double life of a famous singer "Aubrey Elizabeth." She meets her mate for the first time at one of her concern rehearsals and she does the unthinkable, she runs.
View MoreMelody’s POVThe entire school day did absolutely nothing but drag on unnecessarily. Thankfully I managed to make it through my very first day, without drawing an excessive amount of attention towards myself. Except for in advanced math. Ugh. Stupid Mr River. But all in all I’d say today was somewhat of a success. Just making it through one day is an achievement. Now how many more until this nightmare finally ends?I may or may not have considered breaking out into dance when the final bell rang. Staring blankly at a clock watching the seconds go by, is tedious. It’s home time, finally! I can go home and annoy my brothers a little bit and do nothing. That sounds absolutely amazing after this long day. But I can only do nothing and procrastinate for so long before I have to do the devil’s invention, homework. Stupid homework, couldn’t teachers not give us homework. I mean there’s only so much time during the day I want to dedicate to their subject in the first place. School is for work
Melody’s POVChris and I have been walking around this school trying to find our math class and we have clearly been unsuccessful.Which might be a little bit of an understatement, I mean it has been almost ten minutes since our stupid search had began. I think we’re just wandering around at this point like lost souls. Then we hear the final warning bell. Sherbit. Looks like we’re going to be late for our first class, at our very new school. Yay! That means we have to deal with a teacher lecturing us about tardiness, or even worse a detention! Can you imagine, me getting detention on my first day of school barely 30 minutes into the day. My brothers would skin me alive.“Great, we’re going to be late for our first class,” I mutter.“We’re not just late Mel, we’re really late.” chuckles Chris.“I’m not entirely sure that this is a laughing matter.” I mutter back. Then by the luck of the Moon Goddess I see someone. I quickly make my way to the person, who happens to be facing his locker
Melody’s POVI woke up to the oh so lovely sound of my beeping alarm clock. It sounds like a dying whale, specifically a dying whale that is dying a very slow and painful death.“Ugh.” I grit out as I roll over, covering my face with one of my pillows, hoping to block out the sound for a little longer. The one of the pure joys of having to attend school, waking up at the crack of dawn, unreasonable, I know. I quickly press the stop button on the alarm on my iPhone. Ah, silence at last, alarms are such an annoying sound to hear so early in the morning, it’s more than enough to make someone miserable. I then throw my duvet over my head as an extra precaution and dozed off again in an attempt to get in a few extra minutes before my brothers send me off to my deat-high school. A couple of seconds later or maybe it was minutes later, I honestly don’t know, I heard Mason shout from somewhere downstairs.“Mel, get up, you don’t wanna be late for the first day of senior year. Especially since
Melody’s POVAt the moment I am in the middle of one of my concerts, doing what I love performing for my adoring fans. Having the time of my life! Enjoying the thrill of performing for my fans and feeding off of their energy. I am singing my last song for tonight. I gotta end this concert on a high note! Smiling widely at the roaring crowd cheering me on, I close my eyes and take a deep breath before beginning the song. Then I slowly raise the mike in my left hand towards my face and start singing with my eyes still closed. Getting lost in the song as I do so.“She just wants to be beautifulShe goes unnoticed, she knows no limitsShe craves attention, she praises an imageShe prays to be sculpted by the sculptorOh, she don’t see the light that’s shiningDeeper than the eyes can find itMaybe we have made her blindSo she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away’Cause cover girls don’t cry after their face is madeBut there’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the darkYou sho
