I stood before him, my voice trembling like a leaf in an autumn gust as I spoke. "The article about Alpha Lorenzo, our upcoming marriage... Did you see it?"

"I saw it," he replied, his tone as neutral as a winter sky, giving away nothing.

I felt a surge of frustration, my hands clenched into fists so tight my nails dug into my palms. "What are we going to do about that?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice from rising like a stormy tide. "I thought we weren't supposed to make it public… yet."

He shrugged, his shoulders barely moving, as if the weight of the situation was a feather on his broad shoulders. "It has happened and well, we don't need to do anything about it. We'll just let it flow," he said, his words dripping with nonchalance.

I laughed, a bitter sound that tasted like ash in my mouth, and shook my head so hard my hair whipped around my face. "Let it flow? You mean let the lies flow? We're not even getting married, Lorenzo! We're just pretending to be engaged for four
