2: Fated To Meet

~Emma~

"Y-you also dream of me?" I asked in astonishment.

His brows snapped together. "What do you mean?"

"I also dreamed of you many times. In my dream you commanded the wolves to attack me," I said, looking into his eyes without blinking.

"Really?" The corner of his mouth lifted in a smirk. "Wow! We dream of each other before we even meet? This is getting interesting!"

Then to my surprise I heard him chuckle in amusement.

My brows knitted in confusion, wondering why he found our situation amusing.

Then he fell silent for a few minutes, in deep thoughts.

He looked at me, his eyes shimmering. "It seems we are destined to have an affair with each other. And later on, we kill each other? What a cruel fate we had," he said in dismay, shaking his head in astonishment.

I met his intense gaze, trying to guess what he would say next.

"Are you afraid, baby girl?" he asked, smirking.

"Don't call me baby girl! I'm not your lover!" I said indignantly, glaring at him, annoyed by his brazen attitude.

He grinned, laughing hard. The sound of his rich laughter vibrated around the vehicle.

"Let me remind you that in my dreams we are lovers. We shared intimate moments together before you stabbed me with the knife you were holding in your hands," he reminded me, teasing me further, making me blush.

"Stop it! I'm not going to have an affair with you!" I said vehemently, glaring at him.

He continues laughing while I'm simmering in anger.

"Who are you?" I finally asked.

"I'm Alpha Jett at your service, baby girl. Nice meeting you," he said in amusement.

Alpha Jett? As in? Am I really talking to the heir to the Alpha King's throne?

I'm shocked. "Whaaat? Are you kidding me?" I said incredulously.

I stared at him with disbelief in my eyes. I thought he was just a random guy that was ordered to fetch me. I never thought that the heir would personally come to our village to get me. His revelations blew me away.

"Yes, baby girl, I am Alpha Jett in flesh and blood," he said, grinning devilishly.

My confusion deepens. "But they told me that the heir to the throne was afflicted by a mysterious illness. But why do you look so healthy right now?" I asked curiously.

His jaw clenched. Sadness marred his features for a few seconds. "I'm no longer the heir because I have done something terrible in the past. So my father appointed my brother Alpha Jagger to be his heir."

"So it's Alpha Jagger... the one I have to cure?" I asked.

"Yes. You will meet him soon once we arrive at the mansion," he answered.

I asked, "May I know why he's ill? So I can make preparations?"

He shrugged. "Let's stop talking about him because you will see him soon. Let's talk about us instead," he said suggestively with a wink.

"Huh?" My brows drew together. "There is nothing to talk about between us. We're not even friends," I said, sighing deeply.

"But I'm your Alpha and soon to be lover. You will become my woman, mark my word," he stated in a serious tone.

I raised a brow. "Let me remind you, sir, that I'm not a she-wolf. I'm a healer. I don't follow your traditions. The only reason why I come to your house is because you seek a healer who can cure your brother's illness."

"Of course, I know that. That is why you are a special person to me," he said, his voice gentle.

Now I'm increasingly irritated by his constant flirtation. "Find another woman to flirt with. I'm sure you already had a mate and she will get mad and jealous if you keep hitting on another woman."

"I have had many flings in the past but I haven't met my fated mate, until now. And my mate is you, baby girl!" he declared in a serious tone.

Shocked, I could only stare at him with my mouth wide open. "Are you crazy?"

"No. I'm serious. I'm not joking." He shook his head, looking at me with a serious face.

"You can't have a mate who is not a she-wolf!" I protested.

"Who says who?" he said, gazing at my face intently. "Correction, I don't choose my mate, Moon Goddess chose you for me. So blame her if you wish."

Damn. This is getting out of hand. We just met today and he already declared me his mate.

Our conversation is getting ridiculous as time passes by.

Is this guy playing a prank or just tripping?

"Aren't you scared I'll kill you just as I did in your dreams?" I asked him, point blank.

"No. It's just a dream, baby girl. I honestly believe that you won't kill me because I will make you fall in love with me soon... before you know it," he said confidently while looking deeply into my eyes, his gaze reaching into my soul, waving a spell on me.

I stared at him for a few seconds, speechless.

Then I smiled wryly, shaking my head. "I have no desire to become your mate. So forget your illusion and move on."

His eyes hardened. "Did you just reject me?" he asked in shock and disbelief.

I breathed deeply. "My job is to heal your brother. After I cure your brother, I will leave the mansion and go home. We will never see each other again. Do you understand?"

Alpha Jett grinned. "You don't know how to reject me properly do you?"

I looked at him incredulously. "How should I know? I'm not a she-wolf. Besides how am I supposed to reject you when we were never lovers in the first place? We only met today. So please stop pestering me!"

"But even if you reject me I won't accept it. You are mine, my beloved mate. I will follow you to the ends of the earth," he said his voice soft with affection. His eyes gleamed with tenderness.

I rolled my eyes. I'm starting to believe that Alpha Jett is bored with his life and just wants to prank me for entertainment. As long as I ignore his outrageous behaviour, I will be alright.

"When we arrive at the mansion, you should call me and my brothers Alpha, my father and mother, your highness." He reminded me of the etiquette. Then he added, "But when we are together, just the two of us, you can call me babe..." he said, smiling mischievously.

I rolled my eyes at his last statement and said, "Noted, Alpha Jett."

"Nice! You're learning fast," he grinned, amused. "But since we are alone now, you can call me babe," he added, chuckling.

I rolled my eyes. "In your dreams!" I snorted.

His face broke into a dazzling smile. His vibrant laughter filled the air.

I looked at him in amazement.

Suddenly his expression turned serious.

"If I give you a chance now, after everything I've told you, would you rather turn around and go home or continue to come with me to see my brother? What is your final decision?" he asked, observing my face as he waited for my reply.

I stared at him for a few seconds. If I want to find out what happened to my cousin, I must continue my journey without fear. "I'm coming with you, that's my final decision."

He smiled, pleased with my answer. "Wise decision, baby girl. You chose me and I have to thank you for that. I promise you I won't make you cry," he said in a tone filled with affection.

I glared at him. "Please stop with the endearment. I'm not your baby girl!"

"Sure, babe," he said, grinning from ear to ear.

Grrr!

He is impossible! He's getting on my nerves. He's so annoying!

It's obvious, he derives pleasure from teasing and irritating me. I fished out my phone from my shoulder bag and listened to music, ignoring him completely.

Time passed by.

I glanced at him for a moment. His attention was glued to his driving.

We drove straight for five hours until he parked the car in front of a decent looking Inn beside the road.

"Why are we stopping here?" I asked, scanning the place.

"It's already night time, baby girl. We will stop here to sleep for the night and continue traveling tomorrow. Besides I'm tired of non-stop driving, we need to rest," he explained.

"Fine," I murmured.

We exited the vehicle.

He brought our bags to the front desk. "I want two rooms for me and my lovely companion," he told the front desk guy.

I smiled and gave him a thumbs up. I'm pleased that he was gentleman enough to get two rooms for us.

"I'm sorry, sir. We are at full capacity right now. We only have one room available and it's the most expensive. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience," the guy said apologetically.
