5: Emergency!

~Emma~

I read a book to keep my mind occupied.

Alpha Jett was busy browsing his phone. Who was he texting?

None of my business. He glanced at me and smiled seductively. I quickly avoided his gaze and shifted my attention to the book I'm reading.

This is getting awkward!

I wish the mechanic would arrive soon so he can repair the brakes on Alpha Jett's car. We can finally continue our journey. Getting holed up in a room with a good looking hunk is too much for my poor heart to handle.

We're not talking but we are aware of each other and sometimes we both glance at each other at the same time. My face was flushed.

Sigh.

So embarrassing!

I groaned in dismay, annoyed with myself. Why is he so damn hot?

Why, oh why? Much better if they sent someone plain looking to fetch me.

Alpha Jett's magnetic presence in the room makes me restless.

I can't concentrate. I stopped reading and put the book on my lap.

Damn! Am I infected with Alpha Jett's charm? What's going on with me? Why am I behaving like this?

Maybe because it's the first time I'm experiencing this kind of situation. I'm in the room with a good looking guy, oozing with sex appeal that my innocent mind can't handle.

'Wake up, Emma!' I told myself. 'Alpha Jett is only trying to play with your emotions. He was just teasing you. It's impossible for an Alpha of royal blood to be attracted to a healer like you. Stop your illusions. You must not give him the satisfaction of seeing you swayed by his magnetic charm.'

Sigh.

I need something to keep my mind busy!

I grabbed the remote control and turned on the TV, lowering the volume to avoid disturbing my gorgeous companion.

He glanced at me. "What are you going to watch? Are you going to watch erotica movies? Count me in," he said mischievously.

I blushed.

"Pervert!" I glared at him.

He roared with laughter. His boisterous laughter filled the room.

I'm annoyed that he is making fun of me again. I searched for a horror movie to watch and finally settled on a zombie movie.

The movie was two hours long filled with action packed suspense and gore. I enjoyed the movie because it took my mind away from the things that are bothering me. I'm surprised that he also watched the movie.

He left the room for a few minutes and returned with fries, potato chips and two cans of ice cold soda.

"I brought you some snacks to eat while you are watching the movie," he said, handing me the junk food.

"Wow. Thank you," I gushed in delight. I didn't expect him to do this for me.

We munched on our snack as we watched the undead feast on their human victims.

We didn't notice that time had passed quickly.

After the movie, it's lunch time.

"Where do you want to eat for lunch? Here? Or in the Inn's restaurant?" he asked.

"In the restaurant," I answered, wanting a change of environment.

"Alright, let's go," he said, donning his black leather jacket.

I put on my long light blue cardigan jacket and walked to the door.

A few minutes later we were already on our way to the restaurant located in another building. The place was spacious and clean, with plenty of tables to choose from. We settled on the farthest table away from people.

We checked the menu and ordered palatable dishes to our heart's desire. We ate with gusto and afterwards we left the restaurant with a heavy stomach.

We returned to the room and Alpha Jett said, "I'm going to check if the mechanic has already arrived. Don't leave the room until I come back," he warned me.

"OK." I nodded my head.

He walked to the door and exited.

I sat on the bed, scanning the room, looking for something to do. I'm not in the mood to continue reading the book so I grabbed the remote control and powered on the TV.

I'm deeply immersed in watching a talent show on TV when Alpha Jett returns to the room.

"Did the mechanic already arrive?" I asked.

"Not yet. We might spend another night here if the mechanic doesn't arrive today or tomorrow," Alpha Jett replied casually, settling comfortably on the couch. "You are not in a hurry are you?" he asked, observing my face closely.

I shrugged. "Not really, but I heard that your brother's life is hanging by a thread. Pray to the Moon Goddess that he can wait for me."

Alpha Jett fell silent upon hearing my statement.

I shifted my attention back to the cooking show I'm watching on TV and ignored him completely.

...

~Alpha Jett~

I'm amused by the whole thing.

Emma has no idea that I'm the one who tampered with the brakes on my car so that we can stay in this room for another night.

Suddenly my phone rang. The caller is my sister, Julliette.

"Sis, what's up?" I asked.

"Brother, is the healer with you now?" my sister asked urgently.

"Yes. We are currently staying in an Inn because the brakes of my car malfunctioned. I'm waiting for the mechanic to fix it," I replied with a lie.

"Brother, you have to hurry up! Bro Jagger is dying. He has difficulty breathing. He is calling your name. He might not last until tomorrow. Bring the healer to the house immediately!" my sister ordered in a hysterical tone.

"What? He is dying? Are you sure?" I asked in disbelief, glancing at Emma anxiously.

"Don't wait for the mechanic. Leave your car behind! Just use teleportation and bring the healer to the house now before it's too late!" My sister said, panicking.

"Copy. See you in a few minutes. Bye." I put my phone in the pocket of my jacket and looked at Emma. She was staring at me, frowning, waiting for what I was going to say next.

"What's wrong?" she asked, standing up.

"It's an emergency!" I rose to my feet. "We have to go home now. My brother is dying. You need to save him!" I said anxiously.

"But your car is not fixed yet," she said, turning off the TV.

"Forget my car. I have to bring you to the mansion using teleportation." I quickly put all my stuff inside my bag. "Do you need help with your things?"

She shook her head and replied, "No need. Just give me a minute and I'm ready."

"OK. Take your time." I unlocked my phone and texted my sister, instructing her to get the healer's room ready.

A few minutes later.

"I'm ready," Emma said, looking at me, grasping her shoulder bag with her right hand.

"Since we're not going to use the car... we have to teleport to the mansion," I told her. "Do you know how teleportation works?"

"Yup." She nodded her head. "My grandpa knows how to teleport. Too bad he died too early before he could teach me how to do it. Every time he teleported us to the beach he would tell us to close our eyes, then he would hold our arms. The next time we opened our eyes, we're already on the beach," she explained animatedly.

"Good. That's all you need to do. Just close your eyes and let me hold your arm so we can teleport to the house immediately," I said, grabbing my bag and her travel bag.

"Wait, how about your car?" she asked, frowning.

"My car can wait. I will teleport you first into my brother's room so you can start healing him," I explained. My heart is beating rapidly in my rib cage. Damn, I'm feeling guilty right now because I intentionally delayed our journey for my own gain.

"Alright, take me there now!" she said, her eyes gleaming.

I closed our distance in seconds. I held her hand and grabbed our bags. "Close your eyes, baby girl," I whispered.

She obeyed my command and closed her eyes.

I initiated teleportation in my mind and we both vanished from the room in the blink of an eye.
