CHAPTER SIXTY

SARA

My blood ran cold. Alpha Alfred had come for me, just as I had feared. And now, he was threatening the lives of everyone I cared about.

My mind raced, knowing I had little choice. If I stayed hidden, more people would die. If I revealed myself, I might be able to save them. My heart ached with the weight of my decision, but I knew what I had to do.

Turning to Fay, I whispered, my voice shaking but firm, “Stay here. No matter what happens, don't come out. Do you understand?”

Fay shook her head. “No Sara, think about the baby you are carrying.” she sobbed.

“ It’s me he wants and he won’t stop. More innocent people would die, I can’t have that much blood in my hand.” I argued.

Taking a deep breath, I stood, my hands brushing against the rough walls for support. I pushed open the hidden door as quietly as I could, slipping out into the bedroom.
