Alpha Tyler

"I have never had problem with sleeping, not until tonight!" I feel so edgy ever since I was shown to my room, I keep having dry throat, funny sensation all over my body.

I sat down on the bed since sleep was not coming forth, no matter how much I tried to catch some sleep. I picked up my wrist watch that I kept beside the bed, to check time.

"What the hell! It's just 11:53pm"

"Gosh! This so frustrating" I groaned.

"The night is still long and I can't just sit and wait for morning to come, so I stood up from the big, comfy bed that I was supposed to enjoy for the night but for some reasons, I just can't!"

I was not wearing much, just a blue pyjama set of short and top,  which is not covering much but I'm still grateful to Keira, Juliana's daughter, who lend me some of her clothes, besides it's just us living in this big mansion.

Since I couldn't sleep, I have decided to take a walk downstairs, where the kitchen is located, I need to get a bottle of water anyway and hope I don't get lost here. 

I managed to have found my way to the kitchen, I put on the main kitchen light, as an aspiring chef, I must say the kitchen looks great! a well organized kitchen with complete set of high end appliances, large sink, customized drawer organizers, bins, pot and pan storage, don't get me talking on the island work space with an added cooking top, a pot filling station, a simple bar top where friends and family can gather and the lighting!

"Gosh! It's so beautiful"

A well organized modern kitchen, has always been my dream, then I will have no problem baking and cooking with my husband and kids and I don't mind setting up my own youtube channel, so I can teach different recipes. I stood at the front of the kitchen still day dreaming of my future when I heard Juliana's voice from behind.

   "I see, you have problems sleeping"

    I jolted out of my day dream and flashed Juliana a nervous smile.

    "I can't sleep, perhaps because this place is new to me"

    "Oh dear, how about you sit down, let me quickly make some tea to help you relax!?"

    "That will be nice of you ma'am" I smiled as I quickly take a seat closed to the bar top, I watched as Juliana took out Chamomile tea from one of the cabinet and placed a kettle on low heat.

   "Will you like some honey in your tea?" Juliana asked.

   "Yes please"

  She brought out a honey jar, soon the kettle started whistling, so she poured the water into the cup of Chamomile and added a tea spoon of honey before passing the tea to me.

   "Thank you" 

   " You are welcome Luna.. oh!.. I mean Melissa"

I just smiled, and keep stirring my tea to help calm down it's temperature. Juliana opened the double door huge refrigerator to get a bottle water, broke the seal, then took the seat that was closed to me as she drinks from the bottle.

"Juliana, I have some questions going through my head and I will need your sincere answers"

"Sure, go ahead!"

"Firstly, where are we?"

"Here is called moonstone, as you can see it's a small town with not too much family, we are a peaceful people and we look out for each other" she spoke without wavering.

"Secondly, why is this place off the city and with no motorable roads, I mean looking at you guys, you all don't seems to be backwards in civilization, how do you survive?"

"That's so much questions young lady" she said which made us laugh.

 "I'm sorry I'm just trying to make sense of this place"

"It's okay, I'm happy to give answers to your questions, I'm guessing you took through the woods to our town" she raised her brow at me, which made me nod my head in a yes.

"Dear Lisa, moonstone is larger than the angle you are seeing it from, this side is just the outskirts of the main town, with time I will show you around, hopefully! And of course there are motorable roads down town, how do you think we get supplies?

It started to make sense to me.

"Thirdly, are there wolves in the woods?" This time she looks quite uncomfortable.

"Lisa baby, I think we should leave that question for the now" she smiled with hope in her eyes.

I can see this question makes her uncomfortable, and she didn't want to lie to me so the best way was to avoid it, I know what I saw and heard, I just needed confirmation, but since she wants to avoid it for some reasons best known to her, so I just nodded my head in a yes.

" One last question, who owns  this mansion, I have been meaning to ask you since we arrived" I asked because I was sure with her kind of job, she couldn't afford such mansion.

"Let's say it belongs to the man in charge of our town" she grinned.

"His he like a mayor?"

"You can put it that way, but here, we call him Alpha"

"Alpha?, His he like a Mafia boss, with terrible character?" I made an irritating face.

Juliana burst into laughter, which kind of made me wonder what I said wrong.

"I'm sorry for laughing dear" she comports herself before continuing.

"Alpha Tyler is the sweetest young Alpha I have ever known, he's the most respected Alpha in this region, he's strong, smart, handsome, has the best character, he can be brutal to his enemies but the sweetest to his friends and family, he takes care of everyone, you see my dear Melissa, Alpha Tyler is the best.

I just kept nodding my head, and I also wonder how special he must be to his people, his name alone brought peace to my racing heart and I tried testing his name on my tongue.

"Tyler" his name rolled well on my tongue "his name is beautiful"

"Yes, indeed" she gave me a knowing look with a smile plastered on her face.

I just let out a soft cough, as I was trying to control how I feel right now, which doesn't make any sense.

"So this Alpha of yours, his he married?" What the hell! How is it any of my business? I scolded myself mentally.

"Alpha Tyler is not married yet, but now that he's found his mate, I think he won't be wasting time anymore, soon we will have his pups running around this house"

"What's mate and pup?" I asked because I didn't understand.

"Mates are also called soulmates and pups mean kids" she explained.

"Oh, he already has a fiancee" I felt like my heart has gone through different cuts, i felt betrayed.

"What the hell is wrong with me?" I thought.

"Are you alright Melissa?" She looks concerned.

"I'm fine" I forced a fake smile.

"Alright dear, finish up your tea and go inside to rest, I need to sleep, tomorrow is going to be a big day" she yawned.

"Thanks Juliana, by the way your kitchen looks great" I told her, as I kept admiring the kitchen.

"Thanks dear, but the kitchen was designed and done by Alpha Tyler, he said he wanted a large modern kitchen, so there will be enough space for his mate to cook and for him to fit in whenever he wants to help" she proudly said.

"Who is this man?" I thought.

"His wife will be very lucky"

"I think they are both lucky' she smiled.

" Let me give you a tip, his mate is in this house" she whispered before saying good night and hurried away, leaving me stunned and disappointed.

I finished my tea and climbed down from my seat, although I'm still not feeling sleepy but I also retired to my room, with the name Tyler still ringing in my brain.

"Get a hold of yourself Melissa, he's already engaged to Keira" I scolded myself mentally.

I opened my bag to see what novel I had in it, I'm a lover of fantasy novels because it kind of takes me to another world that doesn't exist, I always put one in my bag, just incase I'm being locked by Derek Houston and his likes in the classroom or stores, at least I will have something to keep me busy till I get someone to free me.

I brought out the novel that I have started reading before now, titled, "Adonis" it's a fictional story about shape shifters, although I have only read one chapter, it seems it will be an interesting novel.

I layed on my stomach as I started with the chapter two of the novel, at least this will distract me from my questionable feelings right now, till I feel sleepy. Soon I was done with chapter two and it was already getting interesting, I felt like I was no longer in my world as i kept on reading.
