VENITA:

I took a leisurely sip of wine, giving Jason the space to respond. I could see that my question had an impact on him, and I didn't want to press too hard.

He reached for his table, accidentally dropping his glass. Despite the mishap, Jason met my gaze with a smile. "I didn't know them personally, but my company benefited from their good work. Or, at least, my parents kept the company alive."

"I don't understand what you're implying," I admitted, genuinely puzzled by his revelation.

"You see, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell were well-known in virus analysis. At one point, my parents' company got infected, and it resulted in the deaths of five staff members. They tried various scientists to solve the issue, but none proved efficient until your parents took over. They identified the virus and even created a cure. My father wouldn't stop talking about the incident. He insisted that your parents kept him and my mom alive," Jason chuckled, his gaze drifting to his palm as if recalling a fond me
