Mrs. Corrine's POV

As the day went by, I thought of where exactly it was I had gone wrong with my husband Conan.

I knew something was off when he spoke calmly of the commoner he met in the neighboring village.

Getting married to a man I wasn't destined to be with

At a young and tender age.

I happened to be his un-mated wife.

Although his faithfulness to me had always been no joke But Sadly.

Things got worse by the day.

He found his mate in the neighboring village.

And she was a commoner.

She was a blonde girl, had pretty brown eyes.

He had gotten her pregnant months afterwards.

The commoner later on, had given birth to a girl.

Magnolia.

After which she passed on.

So she thought.

When She found out that, Conan the general had a family.

She gave up the child and rejected Conan.

We never made mention of her mother still being alive to her Making her believe her mother died a long time ago.

Unknowingly to her.

Her mother had her left under my care as she abandoned her mate the general.

 I tried my best in talking him out of it.

"Let her go, Conan," I said to him.

Trying to convince him in taking her off to a foster home.

letting her go completely.

"I can't do that Corrine" he replied.

"She's my blood daughter" He added.

I was shocked when her Omega side became visible at the age of ten.

Making it easier for me to torture her.

As Omegas were never treated nicely.

I was glad when I heard about Magnolia being the mate to the useless wolf prince.

"They did make a perfect combination"

Two good-for-nothing wolves.

I was so angry at the decision of the general to give my precious daughter Cordelia to the prince as his bride.

"I can't allow that," I said to him.

"He has no Future General" I added.

"Don't you dare talk ill of the royal blood" he said.

Making sure no ear heard what I just said" Conan the general being the Late Minister's son and also the king's playmate.

Had always wanted royal blood in his lineage and this was his only chance of doing that "We have come a long way to losing this" he said.

 'I'm not letting this slide" He added.

" But why our daughter Eulla??" I asked.

"Why not Magnolia?, your mistress's daughter," I asked.

"She is an Omega, he will reject her completely," he said.

"But our beautiful daughter would make a perfect bride"

I wanted her off my premises at all cost.

"It's for our good darling," he said

holding on to my cheek as he had his innocent smile on.

I couldn't help but accept all he had said.

I made sure she felt nothing but pain in my house.

I was glad the general never said anything to object when I pounced on her giving her the beating of her life.

I guess he had lost interest in her welfare.

And I was glad about that...

Magnolia’s POV

As I got out of the washroom, I heard someone shouting and screaming at the top of his voice I wondered who it was and what was wrong.

As I walked toward the direction of the sound.

I got the scent again.

This time it was Stronger than ever.

On getting to where I suspected the noise was coming from I realized I was headed for Mr. Liam's office.

As I got close I saw him stand there shouting at Mr. Liam.

Mate! Mate! Mate!

My wolf finally cried out As he turned.

I couldn't help but ask "Mate!??"

"So it's been you all along," I said.

For a moment he froze, staring straight into my eyes.

After a while, he was back.

"What do you mean mate?" He asked.

"I can never be mates with an Omega like you" He added looking away.

The moon goddess had chosen to forsake me on the verge of me being finally happy.

Those words made me feel so hurt and sad.

I wondered why I felt that hurt.

I knew within myself that he had gotten his scent as well.

But was too ashamed to have to call me his, even in public.

I felt embarrassed.

As I woke up feeling so lazy and tired from all I went through the previous day.

The first thing I did was to pick up my phone going on the net.

 I took a deep breath trying to calm myself down.

When I saw videos of how Aldean my unfortunate mate had rejected me Leaving me to be the laugh of the school.

The scene played in my head once again as I had my eyes closed.

I felt tears roll down my cheeks.

As I felt rejected by my mate.

I have faced a lot of rejection from my parents at home and bullies in school.

But this felt worse.

I wanted to end it all.

As I was headed for the kitchen to start the day torture and chores.

Cordelia had forgotten she left the door to her room opened.

Making it visible for me to see and hear them.

As I walked past.

I overheard My stepmother whispering to her about a wedding.

Whose wedding?? I asked myself.

They sounded like they were really up to no good.

“Congratulations my girl” I heard my Stepmother say.

Is Cordelia getting married soon??

But there was never any mention of an engagement party before.

So when did she get engaged?? I asked myself.

“But why me mother” I heard Eulla ask.

Was she being forced into a marriage she didn't want to be a part of.

“He's good-for-nothing wolf prince mother” she added.

Aldean!!!

I froze for a moment when I heard her call out his name.

How did all these get to this??

I was rejected doesn't change the fact that I am his mate.

“I tried talking your Father out of this nonsense,” My stepmother said.

“But he refused, he's only after the benefits of both families coming together” she added.

“Xylah got rejected by him and that isn't good, so please honey. Do this for us” my stepmother said.

But with all being said, yeah would be sent to him as a substitute.

What do they mean by substitute?? 

I felt so bad about everything that was happening.

I wanted them all to go away.

I wanted to die…

I had a lot on my mind as I chopped the vegetables I had in front of me. 

But I'm his mate, I should be his bride!!!

I couldn't help it when the tears rolled down my cheeks. 

I wasn't thinking when I went upstairs to the general’s room.

I felt disappointed and angry at his decisions.

He cared less about me.

I wanted to leave so bad.

“I'm his mate General,” I said bowing my head to the floor.

“I should be the one in the position of Eulla” I added as I tried holding back the tears.

“Who allowed you into my chambers??” He asked angrily.

I looked at him hesitantly as I tried holding back my tears.

“T-the guards let me in Sire” I managed to say.

“You are right,” he said.

“You are his destined mate and should be his mated wife” but the last thing I remember is you being rejected by your so-called mated prince” he added.

While I stood there, frozen. His gaze not straying from mine I stared at him cautiously as I waited to see his reaction.

“Eulla is the one playing her evil tricks in making him reject me, she's responsible for all these” 

I became so furious as I yelled at him.

“How dare you Omega girl speak of my alpha daughter in such a manner” He yelled back at me.

At that point, I wished for the ground to open letting me fall off in peace never to be seen.

As he came close, his eyes locked on mine.

I could tell from the look he had on his face, I had gotten him extremely angry.

“Guards!!!”

He called out.

“Take this filthy ungrateful omega girl to her cell where she would be taught a lesson,” he said.

“Have her locked in till the ceremony” he added.

No!!! 

Not the dungeon.

“General please” I begged.

“I take back all I said, please not the dungeon” I added.

Crying so loud to be heard as the guard had me pulled to my spot in the dungeon.

My chest was rising swiftly as I had lost the ability to think.

As I was thrown into the cell.

I had bashed my head against a brick by the entrance of the cell.

I stopped short and my body froze as the blood rushed to my head.

I winced in pain as I made my way in crawling.

While I sat there frozen, I had my back against the wall as I cried.

I couldn't speak, I couldn't move.

I just laid there waiting for death to come as fast as it could.

I have had enough….
