An audible gasp of surprise rippled through the crowd. Lips were parted open in astonishment. Breaths were suspended and eyes were dazzled.
For a second, Masha was confused about her father's second daughter. She wondered if he had another child she must have forgotten about. Then, it dawned on her that she was his only daughter and was the one being referred to.
Her heartbeat increased rapidly in her chest as she looked up at him, her lungs becoming difficult to breath. Even Kona seemed confused and looked at her. And it was obvious the shock was not meant for them alone as even the Alpha's family seemed shocked to the teeth.
Surprise and befuddlement rushed through the crowd. It was the most shocking news to them as they've never had a Vampire getting married to a wolf. It would definitely be the first of it's kind. Even the rest of the Alphas turned to themselves and mustered their shock.
Lord Galadriel could see the resentment trying to build up in the crowd. Thus, he had to act quickly.
"I know this is coming as a great shock to you all" he lifted his hands halfway. "But I want us to see this as a new beginning. It's for the best. This union will strengthen out bond. Do you have any idea what it will do to us? It will create a better relationship where we can not only co-exist, but inter-marry".
"I don't understand", Masha scoffed under her breath.
She looked at her mother but noticed she was equally shocked.
"This decision was made just between the Supreme King and I. And it has already been finalized because it is the best for us. I decided to start with my daughter - Lady Masha - because I want to make a good example of myself. And because I trust the wolves to do a good job with her. I want everyone of you to know we can trust them. So, this is not just a celebration of our bonding, but a celebration to a new relationship that has never existed", he lifted his drink and toasted it in the air, then smiled at the Supreme King before drinking.
Masha was already having difficulty breathing. Inevitably, her gaze turned to the table of the Supreme King and his family. Was it a dream? Or it was indeed, reality?
Her heart gave a mighty leap when she saw the Alpha's son. Was her father trying to play games on her? Of course, it was a game, because there was no way it was happening.
Lord Galadriel ordered the dancers to warm up the stage. And when he returned to his seat, Masha stood up.
"What is the meaning of this, father?" She asked, her eyes glistening as her chest plimmed.
It drew the attention of the guests. But staring into her eyes, Lord Galadriel could see betrayal.
"We shall talk after the party, Masha. Have your seat", he said nevertheless, his voice as hard as a rock.
"No. I will not be a part of this until I get a full explanation", she repelled, although her tone was less stubborn but more hurtful.
Her mother had her head bent over, seeming short of words. Lord Galadriel said nothing more and Masha turned to leave.
"Sit back, Masha I shall not have you disobey me", her father's words were low, but aggressive. They echoed a warning of a consequence to her actions.
Slowly turning back to the table, she glared at him with eyes glistening with tears. And forcefully, she plonked herself on her seat.
Her chest rose and fell heavily as did her breath. Tears stung her eyes and made the rest of her vision blurry, and oh! she was so on the verge of breaking out. But Kona quickly reached for her hand, squeezing it into his. And somehow, that calmed her a little.
The dancers were already on stage, doing what they knew how to do best. But this time around, it couldn't have much impact as the people couldn't stop nattering on the strange announcement.
It didn't take long before the Alpha's son stood to his feet and walked out, equally earning the attention of everyone, including Masha who felt her throat going dry.
She had never been so scared her entire life and had never prayed for a truth to be false. Perhaps, it was a dream. Or better still, a test.
***********************
Masha did not wait for the party to fully come to an end before excusing herself and finding her way to the room. Everything about her screamed anger and detest - her footsteps, her breath and entire body language. Everyone could read it around her and the servants knew that was the moment she should be avoided the most. The slightest provocation could cost them their jobs.
Getting to her room, she whacked the door close and began pacing tho and fro, her chest rising and falling heavily. Her head was spinning with echoes of her father's words. How did everything happen so fast? How could he even think he could just use her to seal up his stupid deal?
She brushed her wispy hair as her chest heaved. And just then, the door went open with her mother showing up. It was just as if Masha had been expecting her as she turned and snapped out her frustration.
"I need an explanation, mother. What does your husband think he is doing?" Her eyes were fierce and her words blunt.
*Husband?* Lady Jade was taken aback by her choice of words, but considering how intense the situation was, she decided to wave it aside.
"Keep calm, Masha. I am as shocked as you are", she crooned.
"Keep calm? You expect me to keep calm after such disturbing announcement? What does he even think I am? A puppet? Who's ready to be married at his will? How can he just engage me to someone I've only known for a few hours? To someone I've never spoken with? And not just anyone, but a werewolf?! He really expects me to be the first vampire to co-exist with them? If he is so interested in setting his example, why not use himself? Why does it have to be me? I am not a scapegoat, mother. So, tell that to him!" Her voice was threatening the roof.
"Watch your tone, Masha!" Lady Jade rasped. "Do not pour out your frustration on me. I did not make this decision".
The door opened again and this time, it was Kona.
"Did you just say frustration?" Masha focused on her mother. "Father just announced my engagement to a stranger and you think I don't deserve to be frustrated? Do you even see the Alpha's son? Haven't you... noticed how he looks? He is scary, mother! He hates vampires so much and derives pleasure from killing them. Didn't you watch how he killed those men without batting a lid? And how he rubbed off their blood on his skin? That's the kind of man I should get married to? How?! Just tell me, how? It's bad enough that this stupid collaboration is taking place. But trying to use me as an example is something I will never do!"
"Masha..."
"I do not want to listen to you!" She cut her off.
Tears were already seeping down her cheeks.
"I deserve to be happy, not married off to some strange people. Or don't you care about my happiness? You've never did! Sometimes, I cannot help but wonder if I truly came from your legs or you just picked me up from somewhere!"
Now, that hurt Lady Jade so bad, even Masha could see it. But she cared less as she dabbed her tears and headed for the door.
"Masha..." Kona tried to stop her, but she ignored him and walked out.
*********************
Her footsteps sounded down the walkway as her disenchanting eyes stared at the door before her. Even the male servants behind her were careful as they guarded because they did not want to step on her toes at that moment. Stepping on her toes would definitely cost them their heads.
The face of the Supreme Luna - Eve - didn't seem good at all. There was nothing but anger, disappointment and disgust as she walked down to her husband's room.
Still dressed in her powerful regalia that gave her the perfect 'mean queen' look, the servants could not comprehend what exactly disgusted her. The environment? Or just the news?
Getting to the door, Luna Eve stood back while one of the guards knocked. And in a short time, they got the response to enter. The guard opened the door and stayed behind while the Luna proceeded.
She stomped into the room and huffed when she found the Supreme King with some men who helped taking off his clothes. Cocking his neck, he spared her a glance from the door before looking away. Eve felt he must have guessed her reason for being there. Thus, didn't care much.
"I request to have some privacy with the King", she voiced out, but the men didn't leave immediately as they needed to get the final permission from the King himself.
The Supreme King heaved a sigh and stepped away from the men.
"It's fine. Leave us", his grumpy voice worded. And with a bow, the men left, earning a hard glare from Eve as they walked out the door.
"Before you begin bickering, Eve, just know that the decision is final and I am not going back on my words", The Supreme King stated casually as he walked to the table to grab a tobacco pipe.
"Seriously?" Eve scoffed. "How can you just engage our son to that Vampire? With all due respect, My King, it is not wise!"
"Point of correction, it is not an engagement. I do not even want them to have that tag - engaged - because they will be getting married in three days to come. And just so you know, my decision is wise", he corrected with a warning glare. But the Queen ignored.
"Fine. I understand this collaboration was needed. I mean, even if it was totally against my will, I still managed to embrace it because it was important to you. But making our son marry that vampire? You of all people should know how he detests them! They are the reason his mate is dead! You really expect him to love one?" The Queen quarreled on.
"That is my point, Eve. That is the point I expect you to see. This collaboration will not work with Czar harbouring the kind of hatred he has towards the Vampires. So, if we make him marry one, perhaps, his hatred would decrease. Besides, it will be a good thing if he finally gets to love again".
"Love?" The Queen scoffed ridiculously. "You seriously think our son has any place for love?"
The Supreme King said nothing as he ambled to the window where he puffed smoke out from his pipe.
"Please, My King, you need to reconsider this. Didn't you think about Sephora? You know how much I wanted her to be the one for Czar", The Queen added.
"Sephora is Czar's mistress and she can stay that way", the King answered bluntly.
"Really? I cannot believe you are saying this. You know what Sephora has been through. As a matter of fact, these vampires killed her entire family! She has gone through so much to..."
"Everything happened in the war, Eve! And we were not the only ones that lost people! We had also killed a lot of Vampires, Eve! And that's the reason for this collaboration! To put an end to the bloodshed!"
There was a stunned silence, then the Queen's cracked voice came: "But you know Sephora loves Czar. This news will break her".
"If she loves him, she should have tried harder to get him before now".
"My King...",she paused and sighed. "And what about the witches' daughter? She won't take this news likely and you know it".
"Do not worry about Hagar. I know how to handle her".
"But, my King..."
"I am done with this topic, Eve. Quit standing for Czar. If he has a problem with my decision, he should let me know. But even if he does, it's still not changing a thing. My decision is final!"
Tears stung the Luna's eyes, but she was never one to weep. So, she blinked them back and flounced out of the room.
...
With bittered steps, she returned to her room where Sephora had been waiting for her. For some reasons, she had prayed not to find the young lady there, but unfortunately, she did.
Sephora had been pacing tho and fro, hands on her waist with her heart beating rapidly. When she heard the door go open and turned to see the Queen, it increased her anxiety.
She stopped pacing about and tried deciphering the outcome from the Queen's face. But it was difficult. Or perhaps, she didn't want to believe the outcome she was getting.
"H... How did it go? Did the King agree to change his mind?" She finally asked, her right hand unconsciously holding her chest.
The Queen was still by the door and when she shook her head negatively, Sephora bursted into hysterical tears. The Queen had to rush to her for comfort.
The news about the awkward engagement spread all around like wildfire. It was awkward as it was something nobody expected and it was slowly creeping into the ears of other packs and covens. While some found it exciting, so many others thought it ridiculous. "Why would Lord Galadriel sell out his daughter like that?" The people asked. "How can a wolf get married to a vampire?""It has never been heard of"."It is obvious Lord Galadriel just wants his daughter to suffer because he's marrying her off to the wrong person"."Prince Czar is a demon already and would never love her".Even Alpha Kylo and Hector had gone upto King Gregory's room to talk to him about changing his mind, but the Alpha King wouldn't yield. And when they had asked the kind of offsprings he expected them to have, King Gregory was even more excited to tell them they'd be hybrids. In his words:"We're about to make history. With my son and the Vampire together, their children would be hybrids which would be the ver
Next Morning.Masha fiddled with her nails as she awaited the maidens to finish up with her face. Her heart beat rapidly in her chest, unable to express all the nervousness she felt. Two servants were in the room with her, while Terra sat on the bed behind her. But at that moment, Terra's presence could only do little to placate her.She was being primped up to meet with the prince and the mere thought of it was driving her nuts. For Absalom's sake, she never thought she'd ever have to feel so nervous about meeting with someone. How would she cope with the new life forced on her? What if she becomes too depressed and takes her own life? She clasped her palms together as she let herself drown in her own thoughts. Just then, she heard her door open and glancing from the mirror before her, she discovered it was her brother. Her eyes dropped to her thighs as she fel
Lord Galadriel's fears were confirmed. The words spasmed shivers he had never felt in years. His hand went up to his chest in an attempt to calm his pants, and Vader had to hold him from behind as he feared he might collapse."Let's go in. We shouldn't be having this conversation here", Vader suggested. And supporting Galadriel, they went into the chamber with the guards. Vader had to help Galadriel to a seat before proceeding to pour him some water. The fifty-one years old VampLord was seeming he might suffer from a heart attack. He wouldn't blame him; that was the scariest news anyone could hear. When the water reached him, Galadriel took large gulps and sighed heavily as he slammed the cup on the table."How did this happen?" He got to his feet and asked, his eyes looking all red and furious as he glared at the guards."
When Masha returned to the room, she met Terra who had been waiting the whole time. She had been sitting in front of the mirror but sprang to her feet when Masha walked in. "You're back..." "Father needs to reconsider his decision", Masha cut her off, yanking off her hair band and tossing it to the floor. Terra's face crumpled up, noticing how peeved her friend looked. It was apparent the meeting didn't go down well. "Calm down, Masha. What happened?" She drew closer and inquired. "What else? Prince Czar or whatever he's called is the most arrogant person I've ever had to deal with. You wouldn't believe the words he said to me. And to think father wants us to get married tomorrow", she huffed as she sat on the bed to take off her shoes. "Tomorrow??" Terra nearly yawped. "But that is...too close. You don't even know him yet". "Exactly!" Masha hit her thighs. "I really don't know what's wrong with father. His desperation... I'm beginning to think he has a different motif for
HOURS LATERLuna Eve was in seated in her room, trying to convince Sephora to join them for dinner. Although, Sephora was all dressed up with the intention of joining the dinner, but getting to the Luna's room, she comically changed her mind. "You need to be there, Sephora. Absenting yourself might make it look suspicious", the Luna said to the young mistress who was fiddling with her nails."I...I want to. But it's meant to be a dinner between two families. I'm... I'm not part of the family", she spoke with so much sadness, it echoed in her voice. "Says who?" Eve drew closer to put a hand over her shoulder. "You have and will always be a part of this family. Can't you see? Czar doesn't even want this marriage. And I am so sure it's not going to last. I just...I just have this feeling", Eve was never that patient to others. But for Sephora, it was different. Since the twenty-six years old girl lost her parents at a tender age, she had gotten to love and treat her like her own. She
Masha walked into the dining with her mother, not knowing if she were to feel a little guilty for what transpired back there. Her mother had been a little blunt. But, that was Lady Jade for you - she was never a player of words. In the big dining room, King Gregory, Lord Galadriel, Arabella and Kona were already seated and eating - cheerfully. Masha and her mother simply joined them. And almost immediately, Luna Eve and Sephora entered."The women are always late", King Gregory chaffed - but Arabella was the only one that chuckled."But I came in time, father. Isn't that right?" she beamed."You sure did, dear".Arabella glanced at Kona who was deeply concentrated on his meal. She had been trying so hard to make him notice her, but it wasn't working. She wondered if he actually knew she was there. Nevertheless, she wasn't ready to give up.&nb
************************NEXT MORNING************************Masha could not stop her hands from shaking as she stared down at her clothed thighs. She knew everything was set, the servants were done with her and she looked nothing short of a bride. But the thought of being married frightened her.Few days ago, all she looked forward to was the collaboration party. She never had any thoughts of getting married to a wolf prince and soon to be King.Terra was standing behind her but had lost ideas of encouragements to give to her. Shortly, the door opened with Lady Jade showing up. She was adorned in a long silver-colored dress, her hair styled with beads around and an aura of leadership hovering around her. Indeed, she looked just like the mother of the bride."It's time, Masha", Lady Jade said with a straight face.
The party after the marriage was luxurious. There was so much to eat and so much to drink. But Masha's soul was so troubled, she was hardly eating. All Czar did was drink.Throughout the party, Czar didn't say a word to anyone - and neither did he spare Masha a stare.*******************NEXT MORNING*******************Masha stood before the window, her hands on her waist as she heard the door go open behind her. The reflection of the morning sun resting on her face was nothing short of torture. Although, it was mild and warm, but everything felt like torture on Masha's skin that morning."My lady, your things are fully set and the carriage is ready to go", the servant behind her said.Even with how detached servants were, Masha could still sense the hint of emotion in the servant's voice. She
Seconds passed, and Masha could still not find her words. She felt trapped in front of him, unable to look away despite how nervous she felt. Czar finally took a step back, his steely gaze on her. "I thought so too." He mumbled and started towards the door. Masha sprang to her feet and ran to him, pulling his wrist just before he'd reach for the door. Czar looked at her and found nothing but deep fear eating her up. Her gaze was on the floor."Y... You don't have to leave." She swallowed hard. "I understand what you want. Ac... Actually, I thought you'd be irritated by me. But...if you're not..." She forced her eyes from the floor to look at him. "... I'd want it as well, my prince. I'd... want to have this experience with you."Czar turned properly to face her. That was when she let go of his wrist and returned her gaze to the floor. "Are you sure?" His voice was low. "You need to be certain you want this, Masha."She nodded nervously, gulping down the lump in her throat. Her h
Masha, Arabella and Kona spent a long time in the guest room, and the whole time, Arabella did most of the talking. She never knew Arabella could actually be so funny. She kept cracking jokes and making Kona laugh enough. When it was night, they decided it was best to leave him to sleep. Masha kissed him goodnight - on the cheek - before leaving with Arabella. "Your brother is so welcoming." Arabella remarked as they walked down the hallway. Her cheeks were all red. "Are you sure? If you ask me, I'd say it was you who was welcoming." She laughed."Huh? That's not true. Don't make it sound like I was throwing myself on him." She puckered her lips. "I hope you're not catching feelings for my brother, dear Arabella. I'll tell you one thing, that guy is a flirt.""That's not true. He doesn't look like one."There was a little silence between them. "Well, I am not catching feelings for him. I am merely being friendly."They got to Arabella's door. "Let's call it a night, Masha. See y
Czar didn't know what had happened before his arrival for the room, but seeing the way Masha and his mother stood apart, and the way Masha's hand was holding her cheek with shock in her eyes, he could easily fix the puzzle. He couldn't comprehend how it made him feel, knowing his mother had laid hands on Masha. Whatever it was, it didn't feel good. Eve shifted her gaze to Czar immediately, trying to get rid of the repugnant look on her face. "Son, you're here. I actually came for you "Masha's hand was already down from her face, but displeasure shadowed her countenance. The queen's slap still hurt, and she felt so much bitterness to know she couldn't retaliate. If it had been anyone else but the queen, Absalom knows she'd have done something about it. Czar noticed how Masha kept her gaze glued to the floor. The part of her face that had been hit had turned crimson already. Anger shadowed her face, she didn't even try to pay homage to him."I need to have a word with you." His vo
Mace stood like a sentinel, his hands clasped behind his back, watching in silence as the Prince drew his bowstring taut. The training field was empty and quiet, and that was because Czar had requested to be alone. His shoulders commanded the space as he extended his arms towards the target. And in a seamless motion, he released the string, sending the arrow perfectly to hit his target which was a wooden board in front of him. He sighed in approval, took another arrow and worked it's way into his bow."The test has been conducted." Mace said suddenly. "And it was positive."Czar didn't spare him a glance, neither did his fingers freeze at any point as he aimed his bow at his target and pulled the string. It went perfectly to the board again."Are you surprised?" He finally asked, taking out another arrow. "Well... I'd bet even you were surprised." Mace chuckled. Czar's face remained cold as he shot at his target again and turned to get another arrow. "Is that the reason you have
Masha's eyelids fluttered open, allowing the soft morning light to gently caress her face. As her mind slowly emerged from the haze of sleep, she began to piece together the fragments of her memory, causing a mix of embarrassment and anxiety to swirl within her. A jagged breath escaped her throat. Holding on tight to the duvet on her, she darted her eyes around the room, and only then did she notice Czar had been there all along. She gasped, taking her eyes away immediately. Suddenly catching sight of him made her heart race faster and her breath come quicker. He was standing in front of his table, dressed in a black flowing robe that touched the door. And the way he linked his hands behind his back gave him a kind of 'bad lord' look. She couldn't look at him. Not anymore. But in that mini second she had looked in his direction, she noticed something else on his table. The table wasn't occupied with books and scripts like it used to. Instead, it was occupied with various meals. T
As Czar's hands closed around hers, Masha's whole body trembled with fear and anxiety. The room seemed to shrink, and no matter how hard she wanted to, she couldn't brace herself for what was about to happen. Czar turned her around so she could back him, and slowly, he loosened her dress and pulled down her sleeves until it was below her shoulders. He gave a momentarily pause, then continued steadily until her full boobs came bouncing out of the dress. A chill ran through Masha. At that point, she was tempted to push him off and just run off, but she wasn't ready for how embarrassing that would be. Czar left the dress to fall freely to her legs, leaving her in her all natural form. It surprised him that she had no underwear. She had really come prepared. Her back was a sight to behold. The curves of her buttocks, firm and mesmerizing, made it so difficult for him to resist to grab them. Her hair, black and glossy, cascaded down her bare back, inviting him in. A beauty she was - h
The darkness enveloped the room, casting shadows that danced along the walls.Czar sat before his study table, his figure bathed in the flickering glow of candlelight. His eyes were fixed on the pages of a book, but his mind wandered far from its words. It's been a very long time since morning, yet Masha was yet to come to the room. He knew she was scared and not ready, but he did not expect her to shy away that much.He tried to concentrate on the book in his hands, but the more he tried, the more the thoughts of her kept messing with his head. It was all his fault. He knew he was making a mistake when he started showing concern.A long time passed, and suddenly he heard approaching footsteps.Strangely, he could recognise the sound of her footsteps like a whisper in the depths of his consciousness. When the door opened and she got revealed, he was almost sure that time had halted. She was adorned in a long black dress, its flowing fabric clinging to her every contour. He recognised
Czar moved with an icy gait into his room, his hands fisted beside him. His mind was a mess, and as he lowered himself on the bed, Mace took a long stare at his face."I cannot believe this," he scoffed. "This is a very big problem, my prince. What do you plan to do about it?"Czar said nothing. He just clasped his palms and gazed into space."There are so many excuses you could have made," Mace went on. "So many lies. Why did it have to be that? A lie so complicated?""That was the fastest lie I could think of," Czar answered, his voice a little rough. "I had no idea my father would never believe me."He rose from the bed, moving to confront the window."Father sounded too sure. I have a feeling he might have been spying on me," Czar added, his piercing eyes gazing out the window."Perhaps. Or maybe he's just very sure that you are not so free with the vampire yet. You know, you make it quite obvious." Mace shrugged."For now, you just need to think of a way to get over this situatio
Czar mixed the treatment in the bowl, and by the time he was done, Masha was still on the bed, fully dressed. He expected Junior to be a little difficult for her, but at that moment, it seemed like he didn't have the time. He dropped the bowl on the table and approached her. "On your feet," he instructed. Masha felt a little intimidated. He looked like he was offended by something. She gulped nervously and forced herself to stand, giving him her back because she knew he wanted to help her with the knots in her dress. Although they had yet to consummate their marriage, it didn't change the fact that he was her husband and had the right to her body. An icy finger cascaded down her spine as she felt him manoeuvre the zipper of her dress. As soon as it was brought down, she supported her dress against her chest, not wanting her boobs to fall out. For a long time, she felt Czar's eyes on her back, and it made her wonder if her injuries were that bad. "On the bed." He moved away from
