I am your Alpha

Nina turned to look at the Alpha who was now staring at her with curiosity. She was shocked that he asked her that question, as she had not expected him to be interested in her personal life. That was a question she never liked to answer. In fact, she didn't know that answer to the question.

"I am sorry Alpha, but I don't want to talk about my rejection."

"Why? I am your husband now. You should be open with me." Ezra pressed. "I heard that many Alphas turned you down after the rejection. Do you know the reason?"

Nina could barely stop herself from rolling her eyes. Was he mocking her now? "They didn't turn me down. They turned my parents down."

"The public does not know that."

"I don't care what the public knows."

"You didn't even bother to ask me the reason for accepting you."

Nina only shrugged, as if she did care. "The reason does not matter. I am already your wife."

Ezra didn't say anything to her anymore. He just drove them to the pack house.

When they got there, Nina was surprised to see people outside already. It was like they were awaiting their return. Ezra just opened the door and came out of the car, leaving her alone. She was confused, and she felt her anxiety rise. The jerk she just married left her like that. Was that how their marriage was going to go?

Finally taking a deep breath, she stepped out. She was first received by a number of children who came hugging her, almost pushing her down. She was taken aback at first, but then she smiled, crouched to their level and greeted them all. At least the house might not be a total hell for her with these ones here.

"Luna." Nina looked to see a blonde young woman there, trying to pull the children away from her. It took her a while, before she realized that she was the one being referred to as ‘Luna’. "I am the beta's mate, Claire. The whole pack is excited to meet you. But first, I should show you to your room with the Alpha. On your free time, I can show you around the pack, and introduce you to some of the members. The Luna ceremony would also be held as soon as you and the Alpha are mated, which I guess would be happening tonight?" She winked meaningfully, but Nina only felt dread at the thought of mating with that man. She knew she had to prepare her mind, as the whole pack would be expecting them to mate.

"Nice to meet you Claire." Nina responded in a formal, but friendly tone. Claire then began to walk her inside.

"The third floor is for the Alpha and his family. That is where you would be staying obviously. The second floor is for the beta and gamma, and some other important individuals. While the last floor is for the omegas that stay to help in the pack house. Guests can stay in any floor, depending on their ranks and importance to the Alpha."

Nina was already aware that hierarchy was very important in the world of the wolves, so she only nodded without asking questions.

She followed Claire inside, the knots in her stomach tightening. Dread filled her chest, and it didn't even occur to her to take in her new surroundings. The only thing in her mind was how she was going to survive that night with the Alpha. Or maybe even day. He said it himself that he didn't have to wait until it is night before he took her.

Claire spoke to her as she climbed, but her ears only picked a few words. The lady would think she was boring.

When they finally got to the Alpha's room, Claire turned to her. "This will be your new room Luna. You can find me in my room or my office any time you need anything." Claire offered, but Nina was momentarily confused. That was when she realized that Claire showed her her room, but she was too lost in thoughts to notice.

"Do I have to stay here? Can't I get another room?" Nina couldn't help but ask. The thought of staying with Ezra alone in a confined place was nerve wracking.

Claire looked at her like she said something ridiculous. Anyway it was. "Uh... He is your husband, Luna. I don't think it is proper for you to stay apart."

Nina nodded. She took a deep breath, steadying herself. Then she knocked on the white wooden door. Claire encouraged her to just enter, and she pushed the door open gently. She peeked her head inside first to see Ezra standing in the center of the room, taking off his suit. He turned to her for a moment, before turning back and focusing on removing his clothes.

Nina seemed infuriated by his action, but she decided to be mellow about it, at least for now.

"You finally decided to stop being timid and come in?" He asked in a flat tone without bothering to turn to her.

"I wasn't being timid, I was only cautious. There is a difference."

"Not much difference to me."

"You should go back to school then." She murmured under her breath. That was when he turned to her, and she realized that he must have heard her.

"What did you say?" He asked, his gaze narrowed in displeasure. It was obvious he didn't appreciate being spoken rudely to.

She shook her head. "Nothing."

"Nothing?" He raised a questioning brow at her, his eyes subtly giving her a warning.

"It is nothing important." She then averted her gaze from him as she walked into the room. "Where are my stuffs? I need to bath and change."

"Why did you assume that your stuffs are here?"

"My stuffs were brought to this pack house, where you who just became my husband lives. Where else would I assume it is?" Her eyes suddenly lit up as a thought entered her mind. "Or do I have a separate room?"

"You want a separate room?"

"If it is possible, yes."

"I am glad you considered the possibility. So it is not possible. I can't have my wife be in a separate room."

"Then where can I find my clothes?"

"You should ask Claire. I guess she told you where you can find her."

Nina ignored him. She decided to search for herself. There was a large closet there after all. She would likely find them. She then walked past him to the closet. And as she had expected, she found her things there.

She got a simple yellow dress and her towel and toiletries, before walking towards the bathroom.

"You do realize you are still putting on a wedding gown right?"

"I do, Alpha."

"Come, let me help you out of it." He offered, surprising her. She turned to him for a moment, her gaze narrowed suspiciously. She wondered if he truly wanted to help her, or if he just wanted an opportunity to see her naked.

"If I want to see you naked, I won't be shy about it." He said, as if he could read her mind.

"I don't realize you have it in you." She stated meaningfully.

"Have what?"

"Decency."

His eyes widened for a moment, before his brows came together in a tight frown.

"Nina, while you are with me, there are rules you should familiarize yourself with. One of them is that you should talk to me with utmost respect."

"What if you are doing something that... I don't know, something worth disrespecting?" She shrugged.

"Come here."

Nina closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She remembered the only advice her mother gave her, 'please him'. But this one was so difficult to please. She felt like doing the opposite.

"Why?" She wondered if she made a mistake by not doing as he had ordered, but she needed to set some boundaries with him, and let him know that she wasn't his play thing.

Ezra's eyes circled wide at her defiance. It was clear that it wasn't something he was used to.

"Did your mother not teach you manners?"

"Ah! Of course she did. She never failed to remind me to always please you."

"I am not pleased."

"That is because I think you need to earn it. Or didn't your mother teach you to not be a jerk to your wife?" Nina blurted. She let her anger get the better of her, and she didn't know the moment the words escaped her lips. She was surely done for.

"You dare speak of my mother that way?"

"You brought in my mother first."

Ezra crossed the distance between them. He pulled her arm, and drew her to himself. His eyes staring at her with warning in them.

"I. Am. Your. Alpha." He reminded her, stressing each word.

Nina felt her blood boil. So because he was the Alpha, he thought he could do as he pleased?

"You need some taming Alpha." She told him, and his eyes went wide in both surprise and fury. She knew she had crossed the line with this one.
