I moved away from the doorpost when I saw Atluri making his way out. I ensured that he didn’t see me. I waited until he was gone and afterwards I walked into the room.

I saw the feeling of frustration over Eddie's face as he moved over to the bed. He sat down then covered his face with his palms. He was so grieved that he didn’t realize my presence.

I observed him for a short while. “Eddie,” I broke the silence and he looked up to me. I expected him to channel those hatred and anger he was feeling to me but the look on his face showed otherwise.

“Marcus, how long have you been here?” he asked.

“I’ve been here for a while,” I replied.

He hissed gently. “How much did you hear?”

“A few,” I answered. “You have nothing to worry about because I didn’t let him see me.”
