Ava's POV
"No" I repeated for the hundredth time.
"Sweetheart, I'm fine. See," to emphasize his point, he lifted a two hundred pound weight with a finger.
While lowering the weight to the gym floor, I could see him grimace to which he played it off with a smile. I knew that he was still in pain, because I could feel it.
"You're going to hurt yourself" I exclaimed grabbing ahold of the weight and putting it on the floor. I looked up at him with displeasure and worry etched across my face.
"I don't need your help" he snapped, turning away from me.
I knew why he was acting like this. He was the all mighty alpha, feared by all. He was used to doing everything for himself. I guess he didn't want anyon
Ava's POV'Get up,' a gruff voice whispered in my ear. The owner of the voice later planted a wet kiss on my face, and then trailed their tongue along my cheek."Five more minutes," I mumbled rolling over on my side and burying my face in the pillow."Ava we're not doing this again!" the annoying voice complained."Fine! Have it your way" the person said in a defeated voice.Shortly after I could hear retreating footsteps, so I assumed that the person had finally left me to get back to my sleep. I sighed deeply, burying my face even more into the pillow inhaling Jayden's alluring scent.Just as I felt myself drift back to sleep, my eyes shot open. I jumpe
Ava's POVI've decided to adopt Andy. It was a spur of the moment decision, but I didn't regret it. All I had left to do was get Jayden on board, which shouldn't be too hard, if I could find him.Jayden didn't come home last night and I haven't heard anything from him. After our training session yesterday, we went our separate ways. I went to the pack house, and he went to deal with a problem that they were having at the pack border.I've tried to mind link him, but he only blocked me out refusing to let me in. I also tried calling and texting, but he didn't answer either.I was worried. I didn't sleep a wink last night, just in case he'd come home. It was now morning and he still wasn't home. I brought the cup up to my lips and took a sip of the coffee. This was probably my sixth cup, I thin
Ava's POV"Is there anything that you'd like to tell me?" Jayden asked, looking at me with raised eyebrows."Um, no" I replied confused"Really?" He asked again, looking unconvinced."We're out of milk" I stated my answer as more of a question."So, there's nothing that you have to tell me?" He asked once more."I think we're out of eggs too" I said, stuffing my mouth with pancake."Is that all?""Mhm" I hummed with my mouth full of pancake."Alright, I'll see you later" he came over to me and pecked my lips.He pla
Ava's POV"Breathe. Just breathe" I spoke slowly, comforting a panicked Katie. She was panicking, which made me panic, because I had no idea what to do. I've never been in a situation like this before, and I was truly terrified."You try breathing when-" she screeched. She cut herself off, screaming in pain.By now we have drawn a small crowd around us, with people looking on worriedly. I have tried to get her up from the bench, but each time she would yell at me that she couldn't move. Her face was scrunched up in pain, her eyebrows drawn together as she looked at me with tears glistening in her eyes."Do you need any help?" an elderly woman stepped forward.
Ava's POVBeep, beep, beep. What was making that annoying beeping sound? I thought as I groaned mentally wanting more than anything to destroy whatever was making that annoying sound.'Turn it off' I rasped out in a scratchy whisper."You're awake. You had us all worried there for a second." A pair of blue eyes appeared before me and I couldn't help but get lost in them.I slowly trailed my eyes over Jayden's face until I landed on his mouth. His mouth was moving, but for some reason no words were coming out.I felt a tingly sensation on my face as the sparks danced along my cheek. I turned my atten
Ava's POV"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Ava... Happy birthday to you" Jayden sang, which was surprisingly good. Now this is a sight that I want to wake up to everyday. Jayden was holding a birthday cake in his hands with an apron wrapped around his waist, exposing his bare chest."Hey sweetheart, the cake is in my hands, but you can definitely have some of this later" he smirked, gesturing to himself.I didn't even realize that I was checking him out until he called me out on it."Who knew you could make baking look so sexy?" I responded in a seductive voice. His eyebrows rose in shock, as he looked at me, his mouth agape. Normally, I
Ava's POV"They're coming"We didn't have time to react or prepare as an army of wolves charged in our direction. I saw a bright flash of yellow from the distance heading towards me, but due to shock I was rooted in my position. I couldn't move, I didn't even blink as the yellow glow came right for me.Instead I closed my eyes and waited for the impact, and when I felt none, I opened my eyes. The yellow glow was gone, it didn't hit me.But how? That's when I heard it. I heard someone groaning on the ground in pain. I cast my eyes downward and away from the chaos to focus on an injured Jayden.Just like last time, there was a big hole in his shirt where the energy burned through. The only diffe
Jayden's POVBodies. There were dead bodies littering the field, from both sides. I watched as people carried the bodies off the field, some dismembered and others still intact.I was used to war. I was used to losing loyal pack members on the battlefield, but that didn't mean that it got easier. It was especially hard watching the loved ones of the deceased mourn. This time I felt even more responsible than ever before. I wasn't there for them. I wasn't there to help them. I wasn't there to help my people when they needed me the most. How could I look at my people knowing I have let them down?"You didn't let them down. No one blames you for what happened" A voice s
Five years later...Ava and I got married four years ago. We didn't have a wedding ceremony or anything. All we had to show that we were married were our marriage certificate and our wedding rings. She had insisted that we didn't have a traditional wedding because; she was very self-conscious about her body. She had put on a little weight during her first pregnancy, and ever since then things sort of took a turn for the worst. There was a point where she was so depressed to the point where she didn't want to eat anything. At one point she was unable to take care of herself and our son. But no matter what happened I was still there with her every step of the way.I never gave up on Ava. I helped her back on her feet and back to health. I would tell her every day that she was beautiful
Ava's POVA lot of things have happened these past few weeks. My baby bump was huge, making it hard to get things done, but I managed. We were able to finish my welcoming ceremony and it ended on a high note. We finished with a run in our wolf form through the forest. It was truly a beautiful sight watching all the pack members running alongside me.Things were finally looking up. I just hoped that there wouldn't be any more unwanted surprise. But it seemed that I spoke too soon, because in that very moment I felt water running down my legs.Really!?'You couldn't wait until I finished my ice cream?' I frowned. When I made a move to walk I felt a
Ava's POV"You can't go in there" I heard muffled voices coming from the other side of the door."I need to make sure she's ok" I could clearly make out Jayden's voice.Elsa was on the other side probably blocking his path, which wasn't the smartest idea. Never come between two mates, especially an alpha. They were very overprotective and caring over their other half."If you don't move out of my fucking way this minute, I swear to god that-" I could practically feel the angry radiating off him, even from the other side of the door."That what? You'll rip me to shreds. Go ahead; I'd like to see you try
