Thanks for reading! We'll see the battle in the next chapter!
DAVID I smelled Aria’s sweet arousal while we were running. “I wonder what your dirty mind is thinking about right now.” I asked her, but at the same time my mouth uttered the last words, the putrid, disgusting smell of rogues reached my nostrils. It wasn’t just one, but two different scents. I helped her climb the tree, begging her to stay up there, checking if she had the little knife I gave her. Relieved to see it tucked in under her sock, I mind-linked the patrols and Richard for backup, giving them our exact location. Two rogues were nothing I couldn’t handle, but I wouldn’t risk Aria’s safety. The moment that the first rogue appeared from the trees outside the perimeter, I knew he must be their leader – their Alpha. He had the size of a typical werewolf, smaller than me, but bigger than the common ones. Another wolf stepped right next to him – a she-wolf and then, to my biggest surprise, three more wolves. I hadn’t smelled them before, apparently, because they weren’t rogues
ARIA “Luna…?” I heard an anguished voice in the distance. “Luna!” Oh, that voice again. The weight I was feeling on my chest finally receded, and I could breathe normally again, getting out of my reverie. “Am I alive?” I mumbled. “Eehh no! Your soul is floating towards the moon. The Goddess is taking you with her.” The mocking voice of Richard responded. “Richard?!” I gritted my teeth. I nearly died over here, and he was humoring me? What the heck? I opened an eye. Raising an eyebrow at him. “Ha! Good morning, sunshine! Well, I’m glad you’re still with us. How’s your day so far?” Oh, that idiot Beta never misses a chance to tease me. “Shut up and help me get up!” I demanded, panicking at the same time, my gaze fell on David’s unconscious form, lying next to me. “Oh, my Gosh. David!” I hovered over him, gently slapping his cheeks to wake him up. “He’ll be alright.” Richard reassured me, a few steps away from me, checking the rogues. “But look at him. He is so still…I can’t eve
DAVID “Home, sweet home.” Aria’s soft voice filled the silence when we entered my apartment. I was glad she could see that as a home, even though for me -well, actually for all werewolves- home was not a place but a person. “Oh, I desperately need a shower…” She trailed, heading for her room. “I’ll hit the shower, too.” I just responded. “For the record, I cleaned you up at the clinic.” She teased me, eyeing me from the back of her shoulder. “Well, I feel a little sticky, to tell the truth. So, join me if you want to clean me up better this time.” I teased her back, winking at her. She turned slowly, facing me, biting her bottom lip, her eyes looking up to the ceiling as if deeply thinking about her next move. “Ok.” She mumbled shyly, and I stopped in my tracks, totally surprised at her response. I didn’t see that coming. I just said that to tease her, and she agreed to have a shower with me. Fucking perfect. Just the best fucking day of my life. “But…” She trailed. “I have some
ARIA It’s been two days since our passionate moments in the shower. And instead of being on cloud nine and enjoying my time with him, I was confused and avoided his presence whenever I could. My emotions were a messy tangle in my head. On the one hand, I desperately wanted him. No. I needed him. Just the mere thought of what we had done in the shower had me aroused and horny in seconds. And for the second time, this morning, as I did yesterday as well, I satisfied myself. And imagine that he didn’t even touch me back there. But his heavy breathing in my ear, his raspy voice, and those eyes full of lust devouring my body as if it was the most precious belonging in the world had me melting for him. My body craved him. I desired more physical closeness with him. I wanted him to touch me, caress my body with his large palms. I had the urge to kiss him and feel the softness of his full lips against mine, savoring the taste of being kissed by a man like him, and then I craved for him to p
DAVID What Aria had asked me to find was easy. Not just easy, but settled already from day one, when we set foot in the States from Greece. My co-worker, Jonathan had all the right people in the right places. Acquaintances and connections everywhere and could do whatever I wanted him to do without asking or judging. I didn’t know if he was working with the underworld aside from me, but he delivered, and that was enough. He was the one who made the fake ID for Ariadne. And also created a story about her past. It was so convenient that a girl with the same age as Ariadne had died in a fire accident a few days before we came from Greece. And with a first name, Arianna Adams. Close to hers. He just changed some characteristics and the picture in that girl’s data and looked over her past. Clean and without a family. It was ideal for what I wanted. So, the moment Aria told me what she needed, I was more than relieved. I was thinking about the worst-case scenario with how hesitant she was
ARIA I was free. I had no one to look for me. And I kissed David. Oh, my Gosh, not only did I kiss him. I assaulted him. It was like I wanted to eat him alive with the passion I had for him. And he… he was a great kisser. So hot… So… I couldn’t even find the proper words to describe him. I was licking my lips on my way towards the apartment. I needed to wash up, wear something nice – inside and out – style my hair and do my makeup. All that in an hour. I needed to rush. I was running up the stairs when I bumped into Christianna. “Hey girl, I’m sorry.” I apologized with a huge smile still plastered on my face. “Hey, Ian! What’s up, buddy?” I greeted him as well. “Fine, Luna. Why ale you lunning? Mum says we walk, don’t lun on the house.” “Oh, buddy, you’re right! I’m sorry, I forgot. I have to be ready in an hour. I’m out of time.” Christianna raised her eyebrow at me, silently questioning me. “I have a date.” I shyly announced. “Oh…?” Both Christianna and Ian responded. “Let’s
DAVID Her room was empty. She was gone. I saw her sandals thrown by her bed. She was really neat, and she would never leave her belongings like that. My heart was thumping wildly in my chest. What could have happened this time? Did anyone take her? No, not a chance. There was no smell apart from hers in the room. Did she remember anything? My worst nightmare. Something I was dreading, and just prayed that was not it. I left her room and started searching at the packhouse. She was nowhere. I even went to Ian’s room to check, but he was peacefully sleeping, and an Omega was looking after him. Probably my Betas were out for a run. That was the only time Christianna trusted an Omega for her son, only when he was asleep. I focused and concentrated on her scent. It was faint. She probably left more than an hour ago. Tracking the scent, it led me to the back of the packhouse and onwards to the forest. Panic took hold of me. I had pleaded with her a million times not to go to the fore
ARIA The days just went by. David, as always, was giving me time. Time, to clear my mind and decide what I wanted to do with us. Even after our talk and all those sweet things he said to me, I wasn’t yet ready to take that step. If I ever would be… An old saying came to mind ‘They gave him a donkey, and he looked at it in the teeth.’ (a Greek saying, similar to ‘Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth’), I had to be grateful that the moon Goddess chose me among all the she-wolves and human women for David. He was the perfect man. Tall, handsome, full of muscles, fit, and drop-dead gorgeous like a model. And that is all from the outside. Not to mention his character. He was kind and friendly. Even for an Alpha. Strict when needed, of course, but never to me. To me, he was the nicest of all, and he had the patience of a saint. And with children… When I was watching him play with Ian, I was melting for him. Thinking that was the father I wanted for my children. And I was the lucky woman

CHAPTER 2 - She Finally Found MeIAN‘Hey, you there?’ John, my soon-to-be Alpha mind links.I’m just fixing my hair in front of the mirror, threading the comb through my black locks, trying to tame them into place. I like to have the sides of my hair short, but I prefer to keep the center slightly longer and style it upwards with gel or wax.‘Yup.’ I reply, popping the p. I’m in a very good mood today. And why not? Today is the transition of the Alphas in our pack. My now-Alpha David Nathaniel Fortner is passing the torch to his son, John Patrick. A son whose existence was ignorant for fifteen whole years. Back then, before John’s mother and Alpha David’s ex-mate Luna Ariadne decided to bring him to our pack, Alpha David intended to have me as his heir, not only as Alpha to the Golden Moon Pack but to his entire fortune. But luck was in my favor, I guess, because out of nowhere, when I was struggling and ready to drop out of the Alpha training, the rightful heir showed up, and to say
CHAPTER 1 - Watch MeANNELISE“For the third time, Tony. I’m asking you.” I try to keep my voice steady and firm. “Where were you last night?”“Annelise, I’ve told you already. I had to work overtime.”“In that member of the parliament? As security?” I taunt.“Exactly. I’ve told you a thousand times.” Tony whines.“Yes, but I don’t believe you,” I utter, and I have solid proofs in my hands.“You should.” He glances once again in his sports bag to see if he has all his gear inside.“I called the police station, you know…” I trail, and his head snaps in my direction, his eyes throwing daggers at me. “Your colleague told me that you left when your shift ended, dressed in plain clothes, not in your uniform.” I quip. Well, to be exact, I asked what he was wearing, pretending we had a date, and I didn’t want to miss our reservation at a restaurant.“How dare you?” He fumes, prowling at me menacingly. He grabs my chin, turning me to look into his eyes. “How dare you, Annelise? Calling at my j
JOHNSIX MONTHS LATERI jump up from bed, super excited. Today is the day! It’s finally her birthday! All the waiting, all these days. Oh God, it’s in the past. I don’t have to wait anymore.I’ll call her. Wish her ‘Happiest Birthday.’ Ask her out. Go pick her up for our date. Smell her. Make sure she is my mate. I hope. Fingers crossed. Bring her back home, and we live happily ever after. That easy! But of course, fate always has different plans and if you want to make God laugh, just tell him your plans. Mama’s wise words.I wish it was that easy.I glance at my phone. Argh, it’s still six o’clock in the morning. Damnit! It’s too early to call her, right? I don’t want to wake her up or freak her out. She’d be like: ‘Ehm, what were you doing? Watching me in your sleep?’Well, head-scratching. Obviously… For every night those past six months. There wasn’t a single night I hadn’t dreamed of her, and I don’t plan to spend another night with my bed empty and her not by my side.I waited.
JOHNI waved off Mama, Annelise, and Ian with a heavy heart. For the freshly mated couple, I was certain that everything would run smoothly and soon my sister would return as the Beta Female of the Pack.Hmmm, maybe I should buy her a saddle for Herc now that I’m thinking about it. Yes, as a welcoming gift. But my Mama? What happened to her? She was crying, and she was upset. And she lied, yeah, like… right on my face. Mama would always evade the truth with diplomacy instead of lying. But now she didn’t even register that she just uttered a lie because the next moment she came up with another. I didn’t pressure her. I didn’t tell her that I knew she was lying. I just let her go. It seemed that things were already awkward; I shouldn’t meddle in and make them worse.I sighed. I knew that soon we would have to see our guests off, but honestly, now this was the last thought that occupied my mind.First and foremost was Gabriella. Always Gabriella. My dreams yesterday were full of her, twir
ARIADNE«Μαμά; Είσαι καλά; » [“Mama? Are you alright?”]“Mama?”“Mama?”Why did he have to do this to me? Why didn’t he let me go without torturing me anymore? Wasn’t it enough that I still loved him despite everything that had happened between us? Do you know how hard it was to love someone you cannot have? And worst of all, for so many years? How hard was I trying to avoid him when I was here? How hard was I trying to keep him out of my mind? Out of sight, out of mind, they say. My ass!All these years of trying in vain. I still loved him. Every particle of my body was reacting to his presence, and even though I could wear the mask of indifference, I could no longer hold it. This song broke all my resolve. Every brick I built, raising walls to keep my love for him out of the picture, it just crumbled them down, and my heart prevailed. But unfortunately, I couldn’t keep him out of my head. No more. No matter how hard I tried. Twenty-two years didn’t help heal my broken heart. It would
DAVIDThe meeting last night went well. I was confident, and I had faith that Ian would make it through it all unharmed. Before eating breakfast, John and I went to the warrior’s dining room in the packhouse. Because a few guests had already begun their breakfast, it was essential for us to make our presence felt like hospitable hosts. When all the pleasantries ended, we went to the other dining room where we used to eat.I sat in my seat, glancing at Ariadne, who was sitting silently, picking her food. John and Annelise were bantering, and Ian was drooling over her.I didn’t want to speak in case I told something and provoked or annoyed Annelise, so I kept silent. I should think of a way to approach her when she finally comes and claims her post as a Beta Female of this pack. Jessica, Ian’s stepmother, never wanted to take on these duties. She was from the Delta ranks as a doctor, and her career always came before the pack. When my Beta Richard found her, he was ecstatic. He was thril
ALPHA AUGUSTINFinally, we were out of The Golden Moon territory and away from the fiasco they all called Alpha Ceremony.Honestly now?My mind couldn’t conjure how my best friend, my Alpha-Mate, decided to hand in the pack to an abomination of nature.I hated the fact that he was mated to a human. I tried to speak sense into him a million times and make him understand that he shouldn’t degrade his bloodline by accepting a mere human for a mate. But he never listened. He didn’t even want to hear my arguments from some point on. He always stopped me before I could even start talking.I was so relieved when she dumped him and left him. Hoping for a second chance mate for him. A strong Alpha female. That was what David was worthy of.I was mated to a special Alpha female, and he? He was mated to a Nothing. A mere little human!I hated Ariadne with all my being. I argued so many times with Marion about her. Something that made me loathe her even more. But her leaving back then was the best
JOHNI was less than a minute out of the office when I bumped into Agatha. Ian was already heading out for his run, so I was alone.“Oh, just the person I needed. Alpha John…” She waved at me, approaching. Alpha Cornelious was standing by the door just outside Dad’s office.“Mrs. Agatha.” I started and was interrupted by a loud cackle. I swear her laughter was aimed to awaken all our guests! My intention was solely to be polite at that moment.“It’s Agatha.” She instructed when she finally managed to compose herself. “So, I needed your help, because I don’t want to freak out the poor people…”“Just tell me why Annelise isn’t coming to her senses?” Ian snapped, interrupting her, walking toward us in long strides. He might have heard her and returned.“Oh! Just kiss her good morning, Beta Ian. Easy peasy! A true love’s kiss has the power to solve almost anything. A mate’s kiss is even better!” She marveled.Ok! She was a witch. Witches and fairytales go hand in hand, no?“Are you sure? I
