Nora’s POVBack from the dinner part with Michael, I found it hard to leave my room. I couldn’t believe I was going to trust only Michael for Mia’s phone call to shatter everything."Mummy, are you okay?” Dylan asked for the fifth time since today."Yes, baby," he said, hugging me, and I served him breakfast. Michael was not yet home. I don’t care. As I was leaving the house for the club, Zen noted that I left the house more often these days. But I knew; he knew it had something to do with Michael.Pulsating speakers, reverberating beats, and the moving disco ball traveling on all corners of the crowded dance floor were just the beginning of my night. The DJ was in high spirits. His ears were partly closed with one hand raised while the other moved with grace and style on the turntable. He chose the right songs. He kept the festive mood alive, drawing more people to file outside, waiting to be cleared in by the bouncers.I danced without care or worry, forgetting myself, lost in the m
Mia’s POV3 days agoThe first person I saw when I opened my eye was an angry-looking Michael . He wasn’t looking at me, though. I used that opportunity to look around. For starters, I didn’t know where I was or what happened last. On looking around, I saw the walls were beautifully decorated, like they were something made for the royals. The ceiling was so high, and it had beautiful chandeliers. Suddenly, the place was familiar. I remember seeing it once or twice. It was when I saw like 10 guards (I lost count when I became almost dizzy) that I knew I was at the palace. And with the way there were many guards swarming all around me, I knew I was in trouble. I blinked for a while to find out that Michael had been staring at me. He didn’t look happy to see me, so I tried to smile, but I couldn’t. He too tried to smile, but his smile didn’t reach his eyes. He suddenly stood up and left."Come, everyone, she’s awake!” He threw the words behind him, leaving. The guards roughly brought me
Michael’s POV3 DAYS AGO“Hello Mia"Her voice was loud. Was she crying? Oh no! Not again. A million thoughts flashed through my mind in that moment. It wasn't a good one. The last time I saw Mia as a mess was during the attack on her pack. I remembered Mia’s brother. Marcel. He wasn’t going to take this lightly.Marcel might be an ordinary werewolf, but in his rage for his sister, he could do me great harm."Michael, you would not believe—“ then there was some scrambling sound. My heart pounded in my ears.“What! Believe what? What happened?” Then there was silence on the phone. Sweat filled my hands as the phone suddenly became slippery.“Mia?—"“Don’t believe her, Michael; she’s drunk!" I recognized Hercules voice before I could process what he had said. Then the fear was suddenly filled with anger."What's going on there?” I barked.“Give me back my phone now!” I could hear Mia slur. I rolled my ears and took a deep breath. All was safe now. It was just a drunk joke.“Don’t you dare touch
Michael’s POV“Agnar!” I jerked up from sleep. Sweat had formed a puddle on my chest. Running my hands through my hair, I sighed deeply. Oh, it was just a dream. I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I had walked back and was about to lay on the bed when I heard it again. This time, it was clear and loud.“Agnar!” I rushed out of the room and ran downstairs. And there Hercules was, sprawled on the floor. I was filled with dread. I rushed to his side and began to shake him.“Hercules! HERCULES, wake up!” I checked his hands. They were still warm. Something must have made him pass out.Just then, someone ran in. It was Zen.“Your highness, the night crawlers are here,” he announced out of breath, and immediately my heart missed a beat. Night crawlers? I turned to Hercules. So that was why he passed out.How could they do this? I have no debt with them. Or maybe I do.“Take him into the room and come out immediately; we are leaving." I turned to Hercules and stood up. I stood up a
Nora’s POV“Miss Nora, noodles or pasta?” the chef asked."Milk,” I announced. The chef chuckled. Maybe that was a bit too cheerful, which earned me another look from the chef. I laughed nervously. My cheeks were now the shade of a fire truck. Now, this was embarrassing.“Dylan was the best graduate in his class,” I said."Oh, now I see,” she smiled. I searched her face to know if she bought it, but it looked like she didn’t care. I was in a good mood, but I couldn’t tell why.The rest of the cooking was done in absolute silence. Well, except for when she had to ask about certain things about the food. Of which my voice was super low. I asked the chef to leave the food on the kitchen table and go have some rest.“Dylan!” I yelled as I placed the food on the dining table. As I took a seat, I realized that Dylan was not yet down."Dylan, don’t make me come up there!”"Coming, mom!” he said. He must be nestled in front of the video game. I knew Michael was spoiling him. He literally gave
Nora’s POVAs I stood there, my feet weighed a ton. Finally, I dragged myself upstairs and went to the bathroom.“Get a grip, Nora,” I muttered as I stared into the mirror. My mind raced. What would Michael say? Would he scold me? Ask me to leave the pack.I sighed and walked out of the bathroom and to the front of my room. As I walked to Michael’s door, I had sweat on my palms, and there was this dull ache in the pit of my stomach.I came face-to-face in front of his door. I didn’t know how long I stood there, like I had been glued to the ground like a candle.I raised my hand to the door, and it was yanked open. It was Michael. A gasp left my mouth, but Michael just stood there. We locked eyes. There was no expression on his face. I had nothing to cling to. Michael was indeed a mystery.“Come on in, don’t just stand there,” a slight frown marred his beautiful features as he moved aside. I took in a deep breath and walked straight in. There. I have just walked right into the lion’s d
Michael’s POV“So what happened with the night crawlers, huh?" Hercules shook Zen like a little child, wanting answers. They were in my study, sorting through papers for packs that were affiliated with the night crawlers.“Let me be Herc; it’s not my fault you always fall asleep when the party is about to start,” Zen laughed, pushing his hands away."Idiot,” Hercules said, and he hit him on the arm and moved away.“Wait till I get you,” Zen said while trying to retaliate, but he missed. That attracted a round of laughter from Hercules. And that was how they ran around my office like little children. And there I was writing a memo to the court of the werewolves. I was telling them that if they were to see any night crawlers, they should be killed immediately. One of them came last night and began to fight, and I tore him apart. Yesterday was a full moon. The others came in the morning, and we took them prisoners, but Zeus, their leader, escaped.“Can you guys keep it down for a moment?
Michael’s POVI walked straight into the house, and in the process, I bumped into someone."Oh, sorry about that.” I patted her back. I didn’t care to stare into her face. To know who I had almost knocked over in my quiet rage. All I wanted was to leave and go somewhere else.“Your highness?” I turned back to find it was the maid from earlier.“I’m sorry,” I said, giving her a small smile.“It’s alright, your highness.” She smiled, revealing some white teeth. She leaned in and batted her eyelids.“Have you seen her?” She asked.“Her? Who?” I asked. What was she talking about?"Have you seen her, I mean Miss Nora?” she asked"Oh, oh yes, I just did. Thank you,” I said, and I immediately walked away. I knew she had something else to say, but I wasn't ready to hear it.The rest of the night had me tossing and turning. Sleep had suddenly become an alien word to me. I had gone to the gym immediately. You know to release. These emotions were swarming in my head, and I didn’t know what to do
