Zander was sitting in his office, going through the paperwork lying on his desk. The whole day, he kept to himself, not stepping out of his office and burying himself in those piles of work though his mind was elsewhere.

His Wolf kept pushing at him to see his mate and talk to her, craving her touch but Zander kept shutting Azazel off. He didn’t want Rose to know what was going on in his head, he knew she was smart and would immediately notice the shift in his mood or catch up on his emotions.

If she decides to ask him, he wouldn’t be able to lie to her and if she learns about the letter from the Vampire king, Caleb Thane, Zander received when he left for the party, he doesn't know how she will react once he learns what’s in the letter.
