Sara couldn't remember how she ended up leaving the mating ceremony. After the sharp pain in her chest as a result of Zayne severing the bond, all she felt was her legs leading her away, away from the bonfire, away from Zayne, away from all the stares, all she knew was that she needed to get away.
Sara pushed through the crowd, desperate to leave, desperate to breath. In her half dazed state, she realized someone standing in front of her, blocking her way. She looked up and saw Savannah and her gang of friends staring down at her sneeringly.
Savannah had been one of those who was the most hostile to Sara in the pack. Her father was a high ranking member of Zayne's council so she usually got away with everything. She had been Sara's worst nightmare right from when she was 18 when her wolf had failed to manifest. She never failed to taunt and mock Sara and it seemed that was her plan now.
"Guys, look at her, she's in tears", Savannah mocked and her friends laughed.
"No way, you didn't really think our great alpha would accept you as his mate, did you?", Hannah asked her jeeringly.
Sara couldn't reply. She blinked back the tears.
"What? Did you think you would become Luna? And we would all bow to you? You? A cursed wolfless werewolf who even killed her own parents?", Savannah spat spitefully and Sara couldn't take it anymore.
She pushed Savannah out of the way and ran. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her, eager to get away from it all. From dull stinging ache in her chest, from Savannah's words. As she ran the tears poured freely. Sara ran into the forest and finally stopped running when she felt her legs were about to give out. She crumbled on the floor and began to cry, she cried her heart out while questioning the moon goddess.
When she turned 18 and her wolf did not manifest as it should have, Sara had spent her days crying and begging the moon goddess to give her a wolf. As the years passed and no hope of her having a wolf presented itself Sara slowly let it go. Even when her parents had died before that in circumstances she herself couldn't remember clearly, she had also let it go. Now the one thing, the one thing she so desperately wanted, even this the moon goddess could not grant her. Maybe she really was cursed. Sara sat there and cried for a long time. After a while when she had calmed down, she stood up to return home when she suddenly heard a snap.
Sara turned around cautiously. This wasn't the first time she had come to this part of the forest she used to come here a lot whenever she had a lot on her mind but recently she had heard rumors that it had become increasingly unsafe because of rogue wolves. Sara studied her surroundings carefully and cautiously. There was no one. Had she just imagined it? Just as she was about to calm down, she heard the same sound again. This time when Sara turned she saw two werewolves emerge from behind the bushes. Sara could immediately tell that they were rogues. She had been unprepared and unable to hide so when they looked towards her direction they saw her standing out there in the open, shocked, like a deer caught in the headlights. They began to advance towards her menacingly as Sara began to back away. As they advanced towards her, they growled softly, sending shivers down Sara's spine. They snapped at her and Sara broke into a run, they immediately began to chase her.
Sara panted heavily as she ran through the forest. The rogues were fast catching up to her. When Sara turned around her to look she didn't see the twig in front of her, she tripped on it and landed on the floor. Seeing Sara on the floor, the rogues slowed down and advanced towards her slowly. Sara tried to get up but was brought back down by a sharp pain, she had twisted her ankle. The wolves, seeing that Sara was defenseless, growled and continued advancing towards her. One of the wolves jumped at her and Sara closed her eyes shut waiting for the pain that was to come but it never did. Sara opened her eyes slowly to see the rogues struggling with another wolf, a bigger wolf. This wolf was fiercer and by far stronger. He threw the rogues around with such ease that Sara was stunned. The wolf turned around to look at her briefly and Sara saw that it had the most piercing blue eyes. The wolf turned it's attention back to the rogues and Sara watched the fight with awe. One of the rogues seeing that the new wolf was occupied with its friend inched towards Sara. Sara did not see the rogue coming and neither did the blue eyed wolf. The next thing Sara felt was a searing pain in her leg where the rogue had bit her. Sara let out a sharp scream alerting the blue eyed wolf who immediately rushed towards the second rogue and flung him away from Sara. After the attack on Sara, the blue eyed wolf seemed to become more fiercer and angrier as he tossed the two wolves around violently before finally finishing them off. As awed as Sara was by the blue eyed wolf she couldn't really focus on the latter part of their fight as her mind was reeling with the searing pain from where the wolf had bit her. She suddenly felt very dizzy but then the blue eyed wolf began to change into its human form and before Sara stood one of the most handsome men she had ever seen. He was so well built and good looking.
As he began to walk towards Sara, she whimpered and struggled to move backwards. As handsome as he was and despite the fact that he had just helped her, this strange man exuded an intensely dark and cold aura that Sara couldn't help but be scared of him. Unfortunately with her ankle twisted and the pain from the werewolf bite searing through her, there was no way for her to escape. Sara sat there watching the man as he walked towards her, unable to move, her vision becoming increasingly blurry and her headache getting more intense.
"No....", Sara whimpered.
"No, please.... please", Sara pleaded but he didn't stop.
Sara tried to stand up but the sharp pain from her ankle brought her back down. The man stopped and crouched down in front of her. He stared at her intensely and Sara shrunk back under his gaze. Her head was now swarming and her vision had become increasingly blurry. As she swooned and fainted, she was fairly sure she heard the stranger growl,
"Mate"
Sara's eyes fluttered open slowly. The stream of sunlight from the window beside her made it a bit hard for her to see at first and she had to blink a few times in order to get her eyes used to the room. Sara looked round, she was lying down on a king sized bed in the middle of a large room. The room was tastefully decorated although in an ancient style, it was quite luxurious. Sara tried to think back to how she got here and she remembered the attack in the forest. She remembered the rogue wolves she had encountered and the....Sara's mind was immediately on alert.'That's right!', she thought to herself.'The silver streaked wolf who had saved her. Where was he? Was he the one who had brought her here?', Sara asked herself. She looked down at her leg and saw it was bandaged where the rogue wolf had bit her.'Had the blue eyed wolf bandaged her up?'Just as all these questions were swimming through Sara's mind, the door suddenly opened and a woman walked in.The woman looked around t
Killian stared at the woman in front of him, she was looking everywhere but at him, trying to avoid his eyes. She seemed to be scared of him as she shrunk back under his gaze. He hadn't been able to see her properly the previous day because it was dark and the rush and excitement of it all. Now when he looked at her properly, he could see she was quite pleasing to look at. While he wouldn't call her the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, she had features that were charming to look at and made her pretty. She had long blonde hair. Her face was heart shaped, her eyes were moon shaped and they were the most beguiling turquoise green. She had a pointed nose and full lips. And she had this innocence about her that set Killian's entire body on fire and made him glad that she was his.'His mate', Killian corrected himself. He had to stop thinking like that.Sara squirmed uncomfortably under Killian's gaze, it was hard not to. He was staring at her so intensely, like he wanted to eat her
Weeks passed, and Sara had begun to adjust to her new environment. However, the peace and quietness she enjoyed as opposed to the torment she suffered in the Red moon pack didn't last long also.Killian left the council hall, as he had lot's of things to attend to.“How could he bring a woman of an unknown origin? And he claimed her to be his…Luna?” Jared screamed, while the rest of the elders murmured in agreement.“What baffles me most is that she might actually be from an enemy pack.” Cerebrus said with a sigh.Silence swept over the whole room as everyone shook their heads in utter disgust.“I know what to do.” Jared said, his face became cold and stony, and his fists were tightly clenched. He stood up from his seat and headed towards the ancestral cave, a cave which was rumored to hold various ancient artifacts.“My Lord, what do you want here?” Jared's most trusted man, Arthur said to him.“I need to take the diamond stone.” Jared replied, and Arthur's eyes opened wide.“The dia
Killian's eyeballs became red with anger as he stared at the pathetic Sara. He picked up the stone from the ground and sighed.“Diamond stone? Who could be so bold to place this stone on my Luna?” He growled, his intimidating aura could be felt miles away.Jared was beyond shocked, he wasn't expecting Killian's sudden appearance. He nearly had a heart attack as Killian scraped off the stone at the very moment that he had waited for.“Guards!” Killian screamed, and two men ran towards him.“Yes, my Alpha.” They chorused simultaneously.“Who did this to my Luna?” He asked them fiercely, and they both trembled. They had suddenly felt dizzy and they both passed out while they were safeguarding Sara's room.“Did you suddenly lose your voices? Didn't I instruct you to keep her safe?” He roared at them, his icy aura pierced through their heart.Killian called another set of guards and ordered them to drag the incompetent guards out of his presence.“Twenty lashes each,” he commanded, as they
Sara's pulse raced as she regained her consciousness, her eyes were covered, and a cloth was stuffed into her mouth which prevented her from screaming. She struggled to stand up as some footsteps approached her hurriedly, but her legs and hands were both tied. She could tell that it wasn't a single person, as they marched towards her.“What do we do with her?” A man said. His voice was deep, and it echoed inside the cave that Sara was kept.“Let's wait for her orders.” The other man replied. His voice, though deep, was a bit softer than the first man’s.Suddenly, Another footstep could be heard approaching them, which was rather soft and elegant. Whoever was coming must be an elegant and beautiful lady. The men bowed before her, and called her;“My lady,” they greeted, and Sara wondered who the person could be.The only thing she could sense from the lady was her strong scent which filled up her nostrils.“Nice job.” The lady said coldly. Her icy voice was in total contrast to how sof
Killian carried Sara back to the castle, people stared in awe as he held her tightly to his chest.“My lady.” Violet called as she ran towards Killian.“Are you alright?” She asked instantly, while Sara nodded.“Take her to her chambers so she could rest.” Killian ordered, while Violet obeyed. He placed Sara down who muttered a thanks to him as she walked away. Her encounter had indeed traumatized her, but the lovely scent and warmth of Killian calmed her heart. Killian watched her as she walked away, he had never realized how deep he cared for her, until the critical moment. He smiled for some seconds after which a deep frown took over his face. He turned to the men that were being held by the guards.“Jim,” he called out his personal assistant.“Yes sir,” Jim replied as he hurried to his side.“Call me the elders, I have an important meeting with them.” Killian said in an authoritative voice.“Yes, my Alpha.” Jim said with a bow.Killian turned to the common room where the meeting w
It was another full moon night, which signified that it was already a month that Zayne rejected Sara as his mate. He sat on his throne, and let out a deep sigh. He couldn't help but wonder who his new mate was going to be.Several maidens were dressed in their most beautiful attires, each one of them praying hard to get a mate.Zayne flung his gaze over all the people who had gathered in the pack’s Market square. Everyone of them was in eager anticipation, and filled with joy.The case was different for Zayne. Somehow, he had felt a lonley spot in his heart right from when he rejected Sara, which made him think if he had made the right decision by rejecting her.A loud chanting was heard, and everyone turned their eyes in the direction. The moon priestess was seen walking towards the center of the gathering. She held a long staff, and some ladies, all dressed in white, walked behind her.“Red moon pack, I bring to you the wishes of the moon goddess.” The moon priestess said, and a sil
Sara whispered softly as she walked through the woods. She glanced at the full moon that shone brightly on the ground. She could hear some happy noises coming from the pack's gathering floor. The excitement that came with the unmated werewolves getting their mate was unparalleled.Sara sighed as she sat on a stone, humming softly while she thought of her whole life in general, especially since her meeting with Killian.Sara could feel herself getting drawn to Killian, especially last time when he saved her from the coffin, and carried her in his arms home. She longed for the warmth she felt that day.“But what's with his cold aura?” She asked herself. Nice and handsome as Killian was, he exuded a cold and distant aura, that made those close to him shiver in fear. Even Sara sometimes would be struck with fear whenever Killian approached her.She sighed, and got up to be on her way when she heard a cry, more like a baby's cry. She wanted to ignore but the cry became louder that she coul
“My Alpha.” Three guards bowed in front of Zayne, breathing hard as they stared at each other.“What exactly happened? Just tell me.” Zayne fired, as he brows furrowed in confusion. He leaned forward on his throne, his mind reeling for answers.“It's about Sara, my Lord.” One of the guards replied to him. Zayne jumped up from the throne as if the message had a stinging effect on his butt.“What happened to her? Didn't I tell you to drop that corpse in front of the blue moon pack?” Zayne inquired as he marched towards the men. He grabbed one of them by the chin, his hot breath brushing the face of the guard.“She…she has returned to Killian's side.” The guard stuttered, bringing his head down as he avoided Zayne's fiery gaze.Zayne staggered a few steps, he curled his fingers into a fist, clenching it so hard till his sharp fingers made a cut on his palm, causing blood to drip down his hand.He bit his lower lip, turned around and slowly walked to the throne. He sat with his head burie
Sara flung around just to see two ladies standing behind her, one was dressed in black, with a dark veil tied around her face, while the other stared at her with love, and compassion. The lady clubbed in black groaned as blood gushed out of her belly, she crashed to the wet ground, her dark red blood mixing with the rain water that flowed.“My lady.” Violet ran to Sara, hugged her as tears pumped down her eyes forcefully. She wrapped her hands around her tightly as she sobbed. Sara opened her mouth, but the words couldn't get past her throat. All these while, she had thought Violet was no more, she had thought she was the cause of Violet's death, and had blamed herself for it.“I thought you were dead, I thought I wouldn't have a master to serve anymore, but thanks to heaven, you are alive.” Violet cried. Sara lifted her hand slowly and patted Violet's back, she rolled her eyes to the dying lady that groaned softly.“Violet, who is she?” Sara asked her. Violet wiped her tears, withdre
“Wait…did you hear that?” Killian suddenly stopped, walking back into the ancestral rooms as he frantically scanned the whole area.“Hear what? I didn't hear anything” Violet asked him, also darting her eyes around, wondering what Killian was talking about.“She called me, I heard her voice. I heard her voice just now.” Killian screamed, he rushed out of the ancestral house, running towards the forest that bridged the blue moon pack from the red moon pack.“Whose voice did you hear? Who the hell called you?” Violet yelled after him, confused about Killian's strange behavior. She locked the ancestral room and ran after Killian. The clouds suddenly turned dark, accompanied by some huge lightning strikes, and violent thunders as a heavy rain threatened to pour.Nevertheless, Killian kept on running deeper into the forest. He was suddenly filled with a surge of energy, that even his injured leg couldn't hold him back.“Did you hear it also?” He asked his wolf as he ran under the dark clou
Back In The Human World “Watch where you are going!” An angry cab driver screamed, and pressed the horn at Sara who had crossed without observing the traffic.Sara ran into one of the club houses, she could sense Leon's scent catching up with her. She was too weak to hide her scent so she had no choice but to mix with people inside the club.Even though it was a hot afternoon, the club was filled with many men rocking their bodies with the ladies. The whole area was filled with an alcohol stench that almost made Sara vomit.“Are you also here for some fun?” A half-drunken man said to Sara, stretching his hand towards her chin.Sara gave the man a sore gaze and shoved away his hand.“Get off me.” She muttered and walked to the extreme of the room, where it was safe from prying eyes, and Leon's wrath. She glanced around, and when she was sure that no one was looking, she said some words almost silently, awakening her wolf.“I need to hide my scent, let's do this please.” Sara pleaded w
“You…you are not dead?” Killian mumbled in shock. He rushed to Violet and tried to help her up.Violet pulled herself away from him and spat on his face.“Don't feign ignorance. It was you, you caused Sara's death, and she loved you with all her heart. Why? What did she do to deserve that?” Violet screamed, spitting out blood. The punch Killian threw at her had severely injured her, damaging her meridians.“Violet, believe me. I wasn't the one that passed the order, I didn't even know when it all happened. I only woke up to hear of Sara's disappearance.” Killian explained, wearing a forlorn expression as he stared at Violet.Violet laughed, holding her chest as she coughed hard.“And you expect me to believe that? The woman who placed all of her trust in you, what happened to her in the end?” Violet cried, tears streaming down her cheeks. She panted, struggling hard to get on her feet. Killian hurriedly moved to help her, but Violet angrily shoved her away.“Don't you touch me…” she s
“It's not your fault Killian, don't blame yourself for all the things that happened.” Killian's wolf said to him. He took a deep sigh, burying his head in his arms.“It's my fault, I shouldn't have allowed her to be locked up. If I had protected her enough, she would probably still be by my side.” He mumbled. He glanced around Sara's room, everything still smelled of her, and he could see her sitting pretty on the bed in his memories. He took one of her clothes and sniffed at Sara's scent that still lingered on the cloth. His heart raced, and he longed for Sara even more.Just as he was immersed in his fantasies, a knock landed on the door, bringing him back to reality.“Who is it?” Killian asked, folding back the cloth into the closet.“My Alpha, there's something important for you to see.” A guard said to him. Killian threw a sharp glance at the door, wondering what could be so important that needed his attention very early in the morning. It was barely six in the morning. He opened
“Shit! A wolf was here.” Zayne slammed his fist against the wall. He gritted his teeth and tapped his feet on the ground.“We can trace her scent, she probably might be near.” Frederick uttered. Seeing Zayne's bitter expression, he moved towards him and said to him;“Was it Killian?” Frederick asked him.Zayne shook his head and took a deep breath.“No, it can't be him. The scent is not as strong as Killian's but he is definitely a strong werewolf.” Zayne mumbled. He glanced through the window and sighed. “I have got to act fast.” He ran out of the room and raced down the stairs. Frederick ran after him, asking what he was up to.Zayne glanced quickly at the environment, slowly opened the car's trunk and carried out Angela's body.“I have to return to the Werewolves' land right now. Please be on a lookout for Sara and notify me if by chance you come across her.” Zayne scoffed. He pulled out all the accessories on Angela's body and wiped off her makeup. He placed the body back into th
A wave of headache struck Sara as she lifted her eyelids. She placed her hand on her forehead, glanced at her surroundings, and her eyes popped out in shock. She sat up on the bed, and the door opened almost immediately.Sara's heart skipped a beat, and a one-eyed man walked into the room, looking very cold and stony. He had an object that seemed like a knife in his hand, pointing it at Sara as he slowly approached her.Sara could feel her heart racing as the man approached her, she began to shift backwards, shaking in fear and agony.“What…who are you? And…what do you want from me?” Sara fidgeted, her voice filled with fear. She held on tightly to the bed's cover, while her body trembled without control. The man suddenly stopped in his steps, his expression changed from being cold to curious. He furrowed his brows and bit his lower lips;“What? Are you trying to play dumb with me? You don't remember you caused this?” The man yelled, pointing his finger towards his blinded eye.Sara's
Marie, who had been silent throughout the ordeal slowly alighted the car, wearing a wide grin on her face. She walked towards Zayne, smiled at him and bent beside Angela's cold body. She took a deep breath, and ran her fingers on her face;“You used to care so much about money, that our lives were nothing to you. You thought you could always use us as your money making machine,” she paused, shaking her head slowly.“You would never have thought that a day like this would befall you.” She continued before letting out a sigh. She stood up and faced Zayne.“Thank you so much, I am very grateful for your help.” She bowed slightly and smiled at him.“You are welcome, and don't feel too grateful, she is very useful to me, even in her dead body.” Zayne giggled. Both Frederick and Marie wondered what he meant as they furrowed their brows.“Useful to you? You haven't told me how.” Frederick said, his brows raised in confusion. Zayne glanced at him, smiled, and then patted him on his shoulders.
