CHAPTER 128

Marcus’s POV

The morning felt a little bit too beautiful to be true. I decided to take a walk around the garden.

“Marcus, you seem relaxed now the fight of beasts has been postponed,” Winston remarked as we walked around.

“Should I not be?” I asked him.

“You should be,” He replied.

I paused and turned to look at him. He seemed to have lost weight and it made him look better than he was in his overweight form.

“Keep doing whatever it is you are doing, it looks good on you,” I said but his next words cut me off.

“I miss her,”

I turned and looked at him. “What do you mean by that?”

“I mean Lily and Clara. They both brought sparkle to this part of the mansion.

“Cut it out, they left together of their own volition,” I replied.

I missed Lily too, but I could not allow such emotions to overwhelm me. They gnawed at me, but I could not allow them to dominate my mind.
