Leila’s POV

As the morning sun pierced into the room through the open curtains, I shifted and turned in bed. I woke up to a throbbing headache, so I immediately rang for Maureen.

“Good morning Sister,” She greeted with a slight bow.

“Have you found out who he is yet?” I asked while holding one hand to my head.

“Why? What is taking you so long?” I yelled at her.

She recoiled at my yelling and after I was done, she recomposed herself. “The men your father assigned to us are few and we cannot cover the whole of Mistwood Creek in such a short time,” She replied with an annoying humility.

“How long will my father stay confined to his tent house? We need to act fast!” I yelled.

“Sister, are you sure it was a silver-haired male you saw?” Maureen asked. I turned and gave her an icy glare. Was she insinuating I was not seeing clearly?
