Chapter 73

As Julian stared at Rosella, he wondered if she was really back to her normal self. Had the herb actually worked? It was too early to tell but he couldn't help the flicker of hope in his heart. Maybe for once, all of this madness was over.

Rosella quelled his doubts the next minute with a gentle smile and she placed her cold hands on his lap. She knew what he was thinking, it's hard for him not to spiral down that road especially when this same scene has replayed many times right before their eyes.

"Believe me, my love," Rosella smiled at him, hoping it puts him at ease and makes him believe her. "I'm perfectly okay now."

Julian stared at his wife for a few seconds and finally, he hugged her. She could feel the relief rolling through him in waves and she closed her eyes before letting herself breathe in his scent. She had missed this, missed him.
