I ran off to the forest to blow off some steam. The side of my body still hurt. And my face...
Well, it was destroyed.
No, I'm not someone who obsessed over their own looks but being scarred like this was a cherry on top after being rejected by my mate.
Am I really so unlovable that she didn't even hesitate for one second? She didn't even give me a fighting chance.
Yes, I wallowed in self-pity all night, so I left the house and spent the night in the woods.
I also wanted to keep an eye out for the drider. I hadn't forgotten about my duties. I still had a territory to protect.
I was surprised when I saw Ana. I didn't expect to see her walking around alone in the woods. I proceeded to call her name but stopped. She was acting sneaky, so clearly, she didn't want anyone to know that she was here. If I say something, it will scare her off.
So I stayed hidden and watched her in secret.
