Theodore POV
I ran off to the forest to blow off some steam. The side of my body still hurt. And my face...
Well, it was destroyed.
No, I'm not someone who obsessed over their own looks but being scarred like this was a cherry on top after being rejected by my mate.
Am I really so unlovable that she didn't even hesitate for one second? She didn't even give me a fighting chance.
Yes, I wallowed in self-pity all night, so I left the house and spent the night in the woods.
I also wanted to keep an eye out for the drider. I hadn't forgotten about my duties. I still had a territory to protect.
I was surprised when I saw Ana. I didn't expect to see her walking around alone in the woods. I proceeded to call her name but stopped. She was acting sneaky, so clearly, she didn't want anyone to know that she was here. If I say something, it will scare her off.
So I stayed hidden and watched her in secret.
I walked stealthily and foll
Analyn POVI stared at the girl in front of me."Are you lost?" she asked again."I'm looking for someone," I told her.The girl squinted at me. "I've never seen you around here before, and I know all the faeries that live here. Where did you come from?"She knew all the faeries? How's that even possible? "That's crazy. You can't possibly know everyone here. How small is this world?""We are all connected. Why are you acting like you don't know how things work?" the girl said irritably. "I'm Nora, by the way.""My name is Analyn. How do you know I'm a fae? Is it because we are also connected?" I looked at her curiously."Because you look like one," Nora said. She looked even more confused than I. "Do you not know what you look like? Here," she stepped back and did something with her hands, so a mirror appeared in front of me.I let out a nervous laugh as I realized I was back in my fae body. It was as if coming through t
Analyn POV "What? Cat got your tongue?" Rania laughed again. "I can't believe it. You killed your own husband. Didn't you love him?" I managed to say. "Oh, don't look so disgusted. I didn't even love that bastard. I only made him fall in love with me because I wanted to take him away from your goody two shoes mother," Rania declared. "How could you do that to her! I thought she was your best friend," I exclaimed. "Yes, she was, but she was a fool. She loved me even though I was evil. If that's not stupidity, I don't know what is. So when I saw her pining over that wolf, I thought it would be delightful to steal him away from her, and I was right. Besides, it didn't hurt that the beast was amazing in bed." Rania smirked. Ugh! This lady is atrocious, I thought to myself. I didn't want to discuss this further as I had more pressing matters to deal with, like saving Ambrose from this evil witch. Maybe I will let him deal with her later. He
Ambrose POVSheer panic spread across her face as she talked about Theo. It was as if she remembered something."What is it? Why do you care where Theo is?" I snarled."Keep your jealousy in check, mister. It's not what you think," Ana teased me. She turned around and started running towards the forest.I followed her. What was she so frantic about? Theo is a werewolf, for fuck's sake. If he wants to hang out in the woods, let him.She halted. "I need to bring him back.""I'll ask again. Bring him back from where?" I said curtly. I couldn't understand why she was giving me all these vague answers. My suspicions grew every minute."I made a mistake. When I opened the portal to the fae world, Theo saw it and followed me inside. So I made another so he would come back here," Ana breathed."Yeah...so what?""Well, I must've opened up the wrong portal for him because he is not here yet!" she cried.I looked at her for
Analyn POVI knew I couldn't delay this too much. I had to take Ambrose right into the trap and let him meet his mother.I could see he could hardly contain his curiosity when I told him about her. But you know what they say, curiosity killed the cat."Tonight. After I spend time with our kids, we are going to see her, but you have to promise me something," I said.Ambrose lifted his brow. "What's that?""You won't believe everything she says or listen to everything she tells you. Only focus on me," I let him know."What could she possibly do to me? She's my mother," Ambrose scoffed.I did not want to tell him the things she told me and how she killed his father. It was not the time to make him angry."Hey, just listen to me for once, okay?" I insisted."Fine," he barked."Are you going to apologize to everyone for what you did?" I asked on the way back.Ambrose narrowed his eyes. "Apologize?" he looked at
Ambrose POVI stared at my so called mother. The woman in black. I could feel the dark aura surrounded her. She had the same green eyes as me, the same bone structures but that didn't stop me from feeling like she was a stranger."So it's you. My son, all grown up," Rania said. "I am not your son," I barked. I wasn't here to exchange pleasantries. I wanted answers."Ah, resilient. Just like your father." Rania's jaw tightened. "I gave birth to you so that makes me your mother.""You were never there for me when I grew up and that makes you a stranger," I argued. "Why did my father banish you?""Straight to point, huh? Well. Your father never agreed with my lifestyle. He married me because he thought I was some kind of an angel. All because he thought I was beautiful," she laughed. "He was stupid because I never loved him."She stared at me intently as if she was waiting for me to react."Why did you want me to
Analyn POVEarlier that day, I gave my all to learn the transference spell. It wasn't simple because there were several elements to it that I needed to get right in order for it to work. On the bright side, I only had to chant one word aside from using magic.I knew I could do it. I wasn't afraid."You can transfer the evil to another animal when Rania drags it out of Ambrose, but you can't kill it," Sylvia said."Why not?" I looked at her questioningly."Because if you kill it, it will release into the world and find another host again.""Then what can I do?" I asked."You will have to trap it in a bag with the binding spell, then bury it. Preferably underground somewhere where no one can find it again," Sylvia said.Deep underground...that makes sense."Be sure to put pick a weak animal, so it doesn't attack you and kill you," Sylvia warned me.What poor animal can I pick? I felt bad for all of them, but I had t
Ambrose POV"What did you do to my father?" I said with gritted teeth."Alright, if you really must know, then I will tell you. I've been wanting to take revenge on alpha Marquise for many years, and when I finally had a chance to summon a creature like the drider, I jumped on it. I sent him your way so he could kill him."You killed my father!" I roared. I never imagined I would have a mother like that. So ugly and full of hatred."He was an asshole, and he did not understand my vision." Rania yawned as if I was boring her with this conversation."You murdered him," I repeated. I was at a loss for words."Your father was not as strong and powerful as you and I, but he was skilled. I knew sending somebody ordinary was not going to work, so I had to summon the monster from the depth of hell. He is quite the creature, isn't he?" Rania smirked."Who is the drider? How can I kill him?" I demanded to know."You can't kill him," Rani
Theodore POV"No way! You drowned your birth mother while she was frozen!" I exclaimed when I heard Ambrose and Ana's story. I couldn't believe what they had been through over there. I wish I could've helped. But I was back here drowning in my own misery."I didn't exactly drown her," Ambrose said irritably. "She is a fae. The water can't kill her. Nothing kills her. I just trapped her in there, and Ana sealed it with magic.""Remind me not to cross you, man.""Everything is going to be fine from now on," Ambrose reassured me."I have been meaning to ask you, but what happened in the demon world?" Ana asked and looked at me curiously."Shit, I've been trying to forget about it ever since I got back." I shivered as I thought about that horrible place. I decided to tell her everything so she knew what she did to me.When I entered that portal, I knew something was wrong immediately. For one, it did not lo
