Chapter 92

We are back at Mountain Fire. If I had a million guesses, I’d never guess that we’d end up back here so soon. We’re even back in Edric’s old room. I thought someone would have moved in here, Adrian perhaps, but they kept it exactly as it was the day we left.

Inhaling the cold mountain air, I look out over the grounds below. It’s just as I remember it, except that it’s colder now. “Maya,” Edric says behind me. “I’m back. Come inside before you freeze to death.”

I didn’t bring any winter clothes with me…I forgot that it gets cold here, and with winter fast approaching, the nights are getting quite chilly. “Where have you been all day?” I ask as I step back into the room.
