Chapter 83
I wake a few hours later to find Edric still asleep. I sneak out of bed to go through my usual morning routine, then go to the kitchen to put breakfast together. Cedric and Stephen already took care of it, leaving a note to thank us for letting them use our couch.
Feeling trapped inside the apartment, last night’s memories still haunting me, I quickly shovel some food into my mouth, then leave. I don’t know how these wolves can stand being indoors all the time.
I slip out of the palace to go for a walk in the front gardens, expecting my guards to meet me as per usual, but today something else waits for me outside. I stop dead in my tracks.
