Selene, you can't escape me! A haunting voice rings out into the pitch dark. A cackle follows the voice. Selene tried to adjust her eyes to the blackness, but all she could feel was heavy, dark energy. She can feel the tendrils of the dark magic lick her ankle, slowly climbing up her legs. "No!" Selene screams, white light shooting out of her. A tan wolf appears from the darkness. Selene, it's me! Focus on me! Imagine we are running in the woods behind home, our mates following behind... Feather's gold eyes lock on Selene, sending a calming aura through. The dark magic wasn't about to give up quickly, as it spasmed away from the hybrid and began clumping together, rising like a wave. "Selene! Don't! If the magic touches you, it will taint us-our pup! Feather growls in a warning. A strong wind begins to swirl around Selene and Feather. Selene is lifted off her feet and churned around in the air.
Selene feels panic rise. She taps her belly and feels a flash of fear for her pup. Suddenly, a sharp pain in her stomach forms, causing the hybrid to double over from the pain. A doctor and nurse block her view. Tears begin to flow down her cheeks as she hears the doctor. "The pup is in distress." A cold set of hands touch her shoulder, and she feels calm. A male voice mumbles something next to her, but it sounds like white noise. "Get them out of here! She only needs one mate at the moment!" The nurse yells at someone out of her vision. Her teary eyes roll to the side, and she sees Jones. He kisses her knuckles. "Selene? If you can hear this mind link, come back, doll. Your-our baby, she is in distress. She needs her mum Selene. I need you. Luke needs you. Hell, everyone needs you."Jones's deep voice flows through her head. She leans into his touch.
"Lord Jones! You're back!" A beautiful platinum blonde vampiress runs up to the group. "Who is this delectable creature?" Red eyes fall on Selene's neck, and the female licks her lips. Growls threaten the vampiress while Jones pulls Selene in his arms. "My mate." The vampiress's face breaks into a smile. "Of course she is! I knew you would always get a gorgeous one." Her cold eyes turn to Selene, and she steps closer. "Hello, lass. My name is Veronica, and I am the third in demand here." Veronica reaches for Selene's hand, but Jones slaps it away. "No vampire is to touch her. She is mine." Veronica backs away, bowing to the vampire alpha in submission. Her eyes shift to the twin wolves. " Are they her guards?" "No., Veronica, this is Beta Liam and Delta Toby. They are also Selene's mates." He sa
"NO.""Jo, Luke is my mate, and I have a right to know!" Selene glares at her vampire alpha. "And you bear my mark, and you will do as I say. Stay away from the dungeons." Jones's eyes flash red, and his fingertips bury in Selene's waist. The hybrid throws his arms off her, stomping to the door. She is on a mission, and no one is going to tell her what to do. Finally, she spots the vampire that barged into Jones's office earlier, storming up to him. "Where is Luke?!" A glimmer of annoyance passes on the guard's face before a warning cough from Jones erases it. "Yes, my Queen. The dragon claims that Luke and the faerie are deep in the Dragon's Belly on the north side of Danyrus. No one is guarding them since the cell is fortified with silver."An alarm goes off in Selene's head. Something isn't adding up. "Isn't silver a vampire and wolf's weakness?" She turns her neck to Jones. The vampire alpha nods. "It is. Morgan and Luke will be weakened, no mind-linking, shifting, or v
"Gold?" Selene touches the prison bars holding the dragon. "It's a dragon's weakness. Quite a mystery. They are obsessed with the thing, and it can weaken them." Veronica muses. "Open the cell." She parks at the cell guard. The guard scoffs, "We don't allow her kind down here. However, if she wants to offer dinner..." The guard's nostrils lift into the air, inhaling Selene's scent. "You would do well to keep your hands off Lord Jones's promised!" Veronica warns. The guard looks incredulous. "Yes, he is mated to a wolf. A witch-wolf hybrid, if we are specific. Now allow us to pass." The guard hangs his head and opens the cell door. Huddled in the corner is a large male with a strange aura. He glares at the females. "Vampires." he snarls at Veronica. His eyes shift to Selene and then fall to her slight bump. "A pregnant wolf." The dragon shifter stands, hobbling towards Selene. " You are about four months along if my senses are correct." He kneels at her feet, sniffing
"Yes, please." Selene sighs as she wraps her arms around her Beta's waist. "Don't forget me, baby." Toby's husky voice rings in her ear. His lips find her shoulder, leaving a delicate kiss on the skin. "Look at our beautiful mate." Liam's eyes devour her body. He leans down, wrapping his teeth around her dress strap, pulling it down her arm as Toby devours her mouth. SELENE!Jones's voice roars through her head. "Why did you leave?" "Stop." Selene groans, pulling away from Toby and Liam. "Jo is mind linking me." Growls rip through the room. "Give me a second to talk, alright, boys?" She pats their cheeks assuringly. "He's yours too, baby." Toby squeezes her hand. Now that her twins are assured, she concentrates on Jones.
"When do we set out?" This is the only question Diana asks when Selene catches her up on what Drogo told her. "We? Diana, you're the Luna!" Selene protests. "Matias and your pack need you!" "And so does my sis-in-law. Matias nor dad will ever agree to help you! "Selene can't help but appreciate Diana's anger for her sake. Other than Heather, Selene had never had female companionship. Diana was turning into one of her best friends. "You're right. But I think Liam and Toby will be on board..." "How can you be so naive, Selene?" Diana cuts her off. "They are Beta and Delta of the pack! They are just as possessive and dominating as Mathias. You are the prophecy, and it's your right to fight!" Diana looked like she was on the cusp of a tangent but held back for Selene's sake. "Alright, Di, you convin
LukeLuke doesn't know how long he has been in the cave. Other than changing guards, Luke did not have any way to check the time, day, or location. Morgan had been able to conjure a timepiece the first week with his magic, but they almost got caught by a nosy guard in the process. So now both men are hanging on by a thread. There was hardly any food or sleep in their cramped cell, and other than each other for company, they weren't left with anything to occupy their time. Luke tries to keep busy by replaying memories- memories of Grace and Selene. Then he would plan a future with Selene, one with pups and a large yard.Morgan snorts awake and frantically looks toward the cell door. The dragon guards were whispering loudly. The blonde-haired guard whips his head at Luke-signaling his partner. "Someone is coming. I can feel magic."Luke stretches his sore back and leans against the cave wall. "Has Nathaniel said anything to you?"Morgan falls silent. Something had happened
1 year later "Jo!" Gracey jumps in the vampire's arms as he rounds the corner. Jones had just come home from the Thorne Castle. Shortly after Selene's essence was returned to her, Luke had reinstated his friend as Lord of Thorne Castle. Of course, Jones took the mantle with Luke as his right hand and Selene as his Queen. He couldn't rule without her and he didn't want to become the bloodthirsty Jones of the past. He had a family now- a mate to cherish and a little pup to watch grow. Jones collapses to his knees and easily picks up the giggling three year old Gracey. He playfully growls, throwing her into the air and catching her. "Princess. What a welcome. Am I early?" Gracey grabs his large hand once she lands on the ground, pulling him behind the twin's cabin. Behind the house, a large barbeque was set. Wonderful smells of meat cooking and his mate's lemon and sea breeze smell flirt with his nostrils. Morgan is the first to see the two friends round
"No!" Grace's screams break through the shrill night. Danu had witnessed Carman's murder at the hands of Selene. Grace threw herself at the goddess's feet begging for Selene's forgiveness. Her men formed a wall around her, shocked at the rapid spiral their wife's life had become. Anger, disappointment, and betrayal flooded the mate bond. Selene stared back at them, her eyes devoid of emotion. The Selene they knew was no more and in her place stood a monster capable of inflicting an Armageddon that would make Cleo's vision of the future look like a cakewalk. A crackling sound vibrates through the air. Selene looks toward the sound puzzled and freezes when she finds the owner of the laugh. Carman crawled through to her feet, joy written on her face. Next to her, Cleo appeared, wearing a similar expression. The two women high-fived. "Did you get it?" Cleo crows to the goddess. "Like candy from a baby." Carman crooned. The dark goddess pulls a glowing jar from her gown, hold
Blood ran through the streets. Wails and screams echoed off the city walls. Dehmans, monsters, and devils ran around, maniacally laughing as they chase their prey through the darkness. Selene sat above it all, watching as her new reign of terror unfolded. In the short month after Cleo's defeat, Selene had spread chaos throughout half of Danyrus. Kill after kill her army conquered small villages and towns that lead to Poppyfield-Danyrus's capital. With her new rule, Selene decreed that anyone outside after nightfall was fair game or food to her friends. Despite her dire warning, there were citizens who refused to hide away and they paid the price with their blood. Carman applauded Selene for her ruthless reign, after all, it was Carman's demand that Selene does her bidding until she saw fit to free her. Selene was delighted in her new role as Danyrus's tormentor. Her human and wolf parts faded into a back corner of her mind, locked in a glass casing. "Lady Selene! We have brought you
A soul for a soul. It is the steep price Selene paid. Her Liam was free, but she could never see him again. At least, that is what Carman tells her as hiding near a small village where Cleo resides. Had Selene waited, Carman would have happily lifted Liam's Wendigo curse when Cleo's head was on a pike. However, since Selene was so impatient for him, another contract had to be made. For the price of curing Liam before the war, Carman would take Selene as hers. As Selene listened to the Goddess's explanation, she couldn't imagine why she used to care. Sure, good Selene would have screamed at Carman for the lie, but dark Selene wanted to grovel at the Goddess's feet. Carman had freed Selene and bestowed the gift of unlimited power to her. She was no longer tethered to being a wife, a mother, a daughter, or a sister. She could do whatever she desired. "How are you feeling?" Carman asks the hybrid as they leer at demons guarding Cleo's cottage. "Amazing." Selene cackles. "Why did I r
Liam wakes up in a silver cage. He hisses at the pain from the silver chains digging into his skin. What happened? How did he end up in a silver cage? Liam takes in his surroundings, noting he was in a dark cavern lit by a few torches. "Hello!" Liam yells out. His voice echoes in the room, the sound carrying down the cavern hall. Silence greets him. Liam tries to mind-link Toby or Selene, but the silver around him renders his communication useless. Suddenly, loud footsteps approach his cell. A loud growl makes Liam jump to his feet. A yellow-eyed dragon leers at the wolf, a twinkle of joy at Liam's weak state. "Oh, looks like the monster turned into a dog. Suppose I should inform Paiste or that witch."Paiste? What was Liam doing in the Dragon's Belly? "Where is Selene?" he demands of the Celtic Dragon. The guard's face falls. "Queen Selene? She's planning for the war. Hold on mutt, I called Paiste." A short time later, Paiste and Toby appear in the cavern room. Toby's face l
Kisses on Selene’s shoulder draw the hybrid out of her sleep. She feels hands everywhere. On the globe of her breast, her ass, and her pussy. Selene moans as fingers enter her, rubbing against her G-spot. Opening her eyes, she watches Luke’s sensual eyes devour her whole. “Luke, Toby stopped. Today is the day.”It was like cold water had been poured on the two men. Their hands snap back to their bodies, and there are quickly filled with concern. Today was the day Selene and Carman would meet. Today was the day Liam would finally come back to them. Selene crawls out of her spot between her two mates, walking the short distance to her waiting clothes. Looking back, she groaned in displeasure. Her two handsome mates were staring at her, bodies on display. If only Jones was with them in bed. After their explosive reunion and Maddie’s horrified discovery of where Selene and Jones re-mated, a family meeting was called.Gracey was beside herself in
"Can I kiss you?" he asks, his hazel eyes full of hope. Selene's resolve to keep him at a distance crumbled with his passionate plea. "Yes." Her voice comes out deeper, huskier as her eyes flick to his lips. His mouth smashes against hers- the pent-up desire finally released. Selene moans and melts against his body, wrapping her arms around his neck. Jones parts her lips with his tongue, a hand winding in her long dark hair, the other cupping her ass. Goddess, how he missed her tight behind! Their body melds together as their passionate kiss continues. The hand tangled in Selene's locks glides down her back until it is cupping her ass. He lifts up, pulling Selene around his midsection. The hybrid wraps her legs around his waist, soft little mewls escaping her lips. Jones's lips leave hers, moving down to the throat, kissing and sucking on the skin. The sweet smell of her blood enraptures his nostrils as he glides past his favorite spot- where the shoulder and the neck meet.
"Jo!" Gracey squeals when she sees her new friend walk into her parents' room. The last week had been busy. After Toby and Luke had been released from the doubt curse, they were by Selene's side every moment. And if the sounds from her room the first night they returned are any indication, their bond was fully intact. A pang of jealousy stabs Jones. He wasn't jealous of his brothers' relationship with Selene; rather, he craved the affection she gave so freely to her men. Even Liam- a full monster, received her undivided attention. How Jones longed for her touch, her morning kisses. While his relationship over the last week had improved with his former mate, it still felt like a punch in the gut when he remembered his betrayal of the beautiful woman."JO!" Gracey brings the vampire out of his head. Jones beams at the small pup, crouching down to her level. "Yes, princess." Gracey throws her small arms around his neck, joy flowing through her at seeing Jones. The vampire ch
Darkness. That's all Liam feels. His mind has been reduced to that of a rabid animal, his wolf long turned into a beast that murders its own. His first kill was euphoric, freedom like he had never experienced before. He had cut his ties with his own kind with the first bite into that rogue's flesh. A monster inside him had been unleashed, but somehow Liam had held on to a piece of his soul. It was locked away in the recesses of his mind, screaming at the horrors his body brought on wolves and humans. His monster only found solace in Cleo. The Wendigo had become the dark witch's pet and trained weapon. Liam was sent to Cleo's enemies, those she deemed worthy of an antagonizing death. Now here he stood in a valley below the Danyrus Mountains, wolf bodies strewn about. Cleo demanded Selene's head on a platter, and Liam would not disappoint. Her scent led him here, and his Wendigo craved to go inside the
