Chapter Five

The Supernaturals.

Gabriel leaned his arms to the falling body of Felicity. He caught her before the girl's back touched the floor. 

Felicity is unconscious right now. She fell asleep as Darren hypnotized him with his brownish eyes. 

"Leave her alone, or you'll leave my place," he told Darren the moment he came to his front. 

It's just as fast as seconds, the Landlord pushes Darren away from the girl. The man landed five meters away from him. He broke some pots and plants on the mini garden as his butt touched the cold surface. 

The crowd became loud and messy. They didn't expect the scene they'd watched.

The landlord signaled the company of Cindie to go and get Felicity to her. He instructed them to bring the lady to her room. 

"Why so angry Gabriel?" tanong ni Darren habang nakangising naglalakad papalapit sa kaniya. 

"Get off your fang to my guest, find some other food Vamir. She's a limit," Gabriel spoke to Darren.

"Is she an exception now? You never let a human enter the Tenement, but what was this now?" Darren answered to Gabriel's explanation.

"She's the next landowner so give her some respect." Darren was shocked at what Gabriel had said.

"Ow... So finally you're leaving," he clapped his hands to rejoice. 

Darren is arrogant and stubborn among the Vamir Brothers. The five of them were all vampires from the North since 1700 they migrated to the Philippines because of the Vampire hunters chasing them. 

They lived in Tenement for more than 300 years. They are one of the legitimate tenants of Gabriel. 

"Yes. But before that, I'll make sure you'll be kicked out of this place," Gabriel told the man who now managed to get up and move towards him.

"Hey! Relax. I'll shut my mouth okay?" Ngumiti na s'ya na animo'y nanunudyo pa.

Matalim na titig ang ibinato nang dalawa sa isa't-isa. This is a Landowner versus an ancient Vampire scene. 

"But tell me, Gabriel, do you have any death wish? Do you want a girl? Specific food? Or money?" Darren chuckled. 

"Let me give you a present before you leave," he added.

Hindi sumagot si Gabriel, nanatili itong nakatungo sa kaniya. Tanging pagsalubong lang ng kilay ay kaniyang nagawa.

"Darren shut up! Let's go." 

In an instance, Loother who's standing a meter away from them is now on his cousin's back. "We still have a business to run, come on!" He tried to grab Darren's arms but the one didn't like to.

"I'm still talking to our landlord, Loother. I want him first to remember what he did to Samantha."

"No Darren, we're leaving." Loother insisted on him.

And with a flick of the finger, Marco appeared on the other side of Darren. They're now two dragging the stubborn Vampire away to the crowd.

Nagtatalo na silang tatlo dahil sa kakulitan ni Darren. He has so many things to say to Gabriel. Ever since the vampire had an open anger toward the landlord. The one he's calling Samantha is a human whom he loves. But Gabriel forbids him from letting Samantha in the Tenement. 

It's a cold night year 1920, Samantha keeps on knocking on the wide gate of the Tenement. Someone is chasing her. She asked to enter but Gabriel never opened the door. That night Darren is out, taking some business matters. He lost communication with Samantha for a short time. 

The tenants witnessed what had happened to the girl. Nalaman din 'yon ni Darren kaya't nagsimula siyang bumuo ng poot sa may-ari nang lugar. He called him selfish and unfair. 

Ang hindi lang nila alam nang gabi na iyon ay naroon din si Tabithea, she's the one who told Gabriel not to open the door.

Because that evening is Samantha's last night. It's the fate Tabitha had given her.

Gabriel can't do anything, he doesn't want to be punished for disobeying a Deity. 

"No! I'll talk to him." Darren burst his anger. 

Nagawa niyang makawala sa pagkakahawak ng dalawa sa kaniya. He teleported in front of Gabriel and gave him a hard punch. His fang is now out and his brown eyes turn into blood-like.

The happy crowd is now in a deep frightened state. 

 

"I have wanted to do this ever since! I just lack chances, Gabriel." The Vampire keeps on letting out his vigorous punch. 

The Landlord didn't move an inch. He let Darren hit him that way. He thought maybe that he could be forgiven for his actions years ago. 

"Kailangang maramdman mo ang sakit na natamo ko dati, I was broken. So let me turn your face into pieces." The Vampire didn't hesitate to hurt the immortal landlord. He keeps on banging and torturing the man with a higher position to him.

"Darren, Stop!" Pagsaway ni Marco sa kaniyang kapatid. Pilit niya itong hinihila sa pagkakadagan sa may-ari ng Tenement. Ngunit imbes na tumingil ay siya pa ang napagbalingan nito. 

Darren have a very high strength among them. Ang sa ibang normal na tulak lang sa kaniya'y triple ang dating. Tumilapon si Marco sa railings nang ikalawang palapag bago bumagsak sa mga halaman na nakapuwesto sa first floor.

"Sige lang. Ibuhos mo na lahat ng lakas mo. Dahil kapag nakatapos ka, quits na tayo. Wala na 'kong utang sa 'yo Vamir," turan ni Gabriel nang pansamantalang tumigil si Darren sa pagbayo ng suntok sa kaniya. 

"Hinding-hindi tayo magiging quits. Hangga't miserable ako, at habang nandito ka pa'y hindi ako titigil." Nanlilisik ang kaniyang pulang mga mata na nakatuon sa nakahigang lalaki. Hindi niya mapigilan ang galit ngayon. Lahat ay bumalik sa kan'yang balintataw.  

Nagpapatianod lang si Gabriel sa lahat nang bigwas ni Darren. Gusto niyang lumaban at durugin ang bampira sa lahat nang pinaggagawa nito sa kaniya ngunit hindi niya magawa. 

He's more willing to give him a chance para ilabas lahat ng kaniyang galit.

"Tell me about the girl, Gabriel. Is she yours?" 

Do'n natauhan ang gwapong landlord. 

"Her name's Felicity, right?" he added.

Sa pagkakataon na 'yon na pinilit ni Gabriel na makabangon at maitulak si Darren papalayo sa kaniya. 

"I told you, get your ass off to Felicity. I'm recruiting her," Gabriel said in a calm voice.

Tinaasan laman siya ni Darren ng kilay.

"Well then perfect!" Dahan-dahang naglakad ang binatang bampira palapit sa kaniya. "Let's see kung tutulungan ka niya." Ngumisi ito with his fangs on the view. 

"You're the dog of fate, Gabriel. Sunod-sunuran ka noon pa man. You should leave. Everything will be at peace."

Sure thing, Darren is now mocking Gabriel's dignity. Namalagi s'ya sa Tenement ang ilang daang taon. He saw and witnessed how Gabriel life is; a trash.

Sa dami nang pinagsasabi ni Darren ay hindi na rin nagawang magtipi ng landlord. 

He took out a deep breath before strangling Darren's neck. He felt insulted.

"Now I'm pissed Vamir!" He shouted. 

They fought; Darren tried to bite the landowner; Gabriel dragged him to a different side of the Earth by teleportation. 

Alaska; Europe; China and even the deep sea of the Pacific Ocean. 

They just returned to Tenement after a half hour. The tenants are still there but look terrified. 

Ilang sandali bago napansin ni Gabriel 'yon. 

All are looking up, eyes shut on the air, trembling. 

The angry Darren also stops and sets aside his anger when he realizes that the crowd is full of silence.

"Ghouls?" he uttered. Nagugulumihanan man ay napagtanto niya pa rin na ang mga lumulutang sa ere na nakaitim ay mga Afterlife Ghouls.

"Fuck!" Hindi na nag-aksaya ng oras si Gabriel. 

And as fast as lightning, on his right hand his rifle

M16 appeared. Kinasa niya 'yon at nagteleport in the midst air; shooting. 

His gunpowder is made for supernatural beings, Ghouls can be shot by it.

Victoria leads her co-tenants to return to their rooms and look at the doors. 

Gerry became what he is--a wolf. 

The Vamir brothers also helped in conquering the monsters. Their speed and keenness are a high advantage for now. 

An explosion due to Gabriel's gun filled the whole place. He needs to eliminate all of them before it causes a lot. He is sure tomorrow he will be called by the Council.

 

What caused the Afterlife Ghouls to come out? That's the question Gabriel is thinking while killing all the ghouls he's facing. 

Biglang pumasok sa isipin niya ang lihim na lagusan sa Room 17. 

"Shit!" He cursed. 

Gabriel then teleported in front of Room 17. He knocked but no one answered. Then he tried to open the door but his hands just got on fire and burned. 

The landlord's rule: he can't open any door without permission. He's the landlord without a duplicate key. 

"Fuck!" He banged the door but nothing happened. The protection is just too hard to break. 

He looks down to where his other tenants fight the Ghouls. There he saw Victoria. 

Walang sabi-sabi'y naglaho siya't nagtungo sa babae. Parang isang kisapmata ang lahat. Hindi na umabot ng limang segundo'y nasa harapan na sila parehas ng room 17. 

"Break the spell," he commanded the young lady. 

Without hesitation, Victoria closed her eyes, and uttered some sentences without saying out loud. She put her hands on the doorknob until it opened. 

Gabriel signaled Victoria to leave before entering the Room. For sure many Ghouls are roaming inside. 

The lights were off. Only a moonlight-like light that is coming from the window is giving the room a life. Maybe not a life either.

"Felicity!" his husky voice bounced on the four corners of the room. 

"Nasa'an ka?" he again asked. 

Mabilis niyang isinara ang bintana na siyang nagsisilbing sikretong tulay sa pagitan ng Mundo ng tao at mundo ng kamatayan.

Ngunit hindi pa rin siya nagpakampante, malakas ang black aura na umiikot sa kabuuan nang kwarto. 

He walked towards the dining, on comfort room, and lastly the lady's room. 

And there he saw a Ghoul sipping Felicity's soul. A white fog-like is coming out of Felicity's mouth through the Ghoul's body. 

He immediately ascends and shoots off the monster's head. It didn't go that easily because of the other Ghoul hiding in the dark. 

Nakipagbuno pa siya ro'n. The Afterlife Ghoul also tried to get Gabriel's soul.

No doubt why they were also called Soul Eaters.

Later on, after a minute of fighting for their lives, Gabriel then won. The afterlife Ghouls disappeared, he just doesn't know if that's the same case outside. 

Napaluhod siya't huminga nang malalim. Naglaho sa kamay niya ang rifle na kanina'y naging sandata sa mga halimaw. Pinilit niyang makalapit sa dalaga at gisingin 'to. Ngunit sa kasamang palad ay unconsious pa rin ang babae. 

"Gabriel..." 

Si Cindie iyon na habol ang mabilis na paghinga. Naabutan niya ang landlord na nasa harapan ng nakahandusay na si Felicity.

"Iniwanan ko siya sa sala kanina, para kumuha ng tea sa room ko. Pero hindi na ako nakabalik nang makasalubong ko ang isang afterlife Ghoul," pagpapaliwanag niya.

"I don't know maybe she opened it without realizing it was a portal," she added.

"It's okay, just look after her. I'll go see what's happenig outside." Itinukod niya ang braso sa sahig upang makatayo nang maayos.

"Okay," Cindie answered.

Ngunit bago siya umalis ay pinagbilin niya na gamutin nito ang babae. 

Cindie has some special power to heal. She's a Princess of the Ocean, a mermaid.

The lady nodded before Gabriel vanished on her front. 

She puts her hands on Felicity's heart, and then a circling water purifying the body of the sleeping lady. Cindie is cleansing Felicity's soul. 

Ghouls have a poisonous energy that is being transferred to the victim's body after eating their souls. If their ritual is being interrupted, anxiety and depression would be the symptoms of a human who was saved from Ghoul's destructive doing.

"Cindie!" Napahinto ang babae sa ginagawa nang maulinigan ang kaibigang si Victoria.

"Ano 'yon?" she asked while her eyes were still on lying Felicity.

"You need to come out..."

Nangunot ang kaniyang noo sa sinambit nito. She know she can't come out right now.

"Mrs. Pattinson's son is dead."
