"When are you going to work?" Yaya Grace asks Ramina.
They were eating lunch at a restaurant near the school of Prescelle. Since Ramina won't be able to do this more often with them once she started working.
The interior of the restaurant is designed and painted green which creates a good ambiance. It's refreshing especially since the temperature inside is not so cold. It feels like you are eating in the middle of a forest.
Prescelle is busy playing on her phone while the two ladies sat beside each other to talk since their order is still in the making.
"On Monday, Yaya. By that, I will leave Prescelle to you once again," Ramina says.
Yaya Grace smiled then nodded. "Congratulations. I'm so happy for you," she sincerely said.
Ramina's lips stretched to form a smile. "Thank you, Yaya... Always," she says.
Ramina thinks that having Yaya Grace is a stroke of luck. Yaya Grace has been her company for years and Prescelle is growing. She is so close to her, a helpful friend when she's in need. Yaya Grace witnessed her vulnerable times yet she did not judge her for that. The reason why Ramina trusted her so much.
"Prescelle is lucky to have a mother like you, Ramina. How I wish I could have my child too and tell her or him about you. You're an inspiration, to be honest," Yaya Grace tells her.
Ramina couldn't help but melt with her words. She doesn't see herself as an inspiring woman at all but... it feels great knowing that someone sees her that way.
Ramina let out a soft chuckle. "I wasn't like this before, Yaya, you know. I consider myself a lost girl back then when I was younger. But when I had Prescelle, my perspectives on life changed. I learned to become a better woman for my daughter. She changed me... she was my light," Ramina says as she looks at her daughter, pouting while playing on her phone.
Yaya Grace puts her elbow on the table then leans her chin on top of her hand. "Both of you... are so lucky to have each other," she said, smiling a bit.
Ramina created a sound on the back of her throat, agreeing with Yaya Grace. "I'm the luckiest to have the both of you," Ramina said.
Yaya Grace wasn't expecting that. She let out a sigh before looking at Ramina. "I could spend my whole life taking care of the both of you..." Yaya Grace giggled.
Ramina smiled at that. "My home is always open for you, Yaya. Remember that," she told her.
"Excuse me, Ma'am. Here's your order."
Their conversation stops when the waiter came and served them their order.
Prescelle clasped her hands as her eyes twinkled while hungrily looking at the foods in front of her. "It looks delicious!" she beamed.
The waiter chuckled because of her cuteness. "Enjoy your food, sweetie," the waiter says before leaving.
"Thank you, Mister!" Prescelle replies.
Ramina was just smiling throughout their lunch. She's happy and contented while talking with her daughter and Yaya Grace. She feels complete... and it's the best feeling she had felt.
Monday came and Ramina needs to go to work. It's her first day and so she can't help but feel nervous. Wearing a black fitted skirt ending above her knee paired with a white long-sleeved shirt, Ramina gracefully entered the company with her stilettos creating a sound on the floor.
Some employees turned their heads in her direction, others greeted her and others don't.
Ramina was sweating buckets all the way to Mrs. Fujimoto's office. The company is so wide that you might lose once you did not memorize the floors. It has a total of five floors with an area of each floor exceeding a thousand meters wide.
"Good day, Ms. Montalvo!" Mrs. Fujimoto greeted her once she came into her office.
A smile immediately escaped on Ramina's face. "Hello, Mrs. Fujimoto. It's nice to see you again," she uttered.
Mrs. Fujimoto came towards her. "Oh! I can't wait to work with you, Ms. Montalvo! You seemed to be very passionate about your job. I'll be looking forward to your contributions to our company!" she beamed.
Ramina and Mrs. Fujimoto had a short conversation before they went out to proceed to Mr. Mattheios' office.
"I'm kinda nervous," Ramina admitted while they were on their way towards a large office.
Mrs. Fujimoto let out a heartily laugh. "Oh, yes, yes! Mr. Mattheios is a bit strict with his employees. No, he is really a strict boss! But trust me, he's the best boss I've ever encountered."
Ramina gulped at the mention of him being a strict boss to his employees. Yes, he should be strict! But how strict is he?
"M-Mr. Mattheios—"
It seems like the ambiance answered her thoughts when she saw a group of employees lining up and there was Mr. Mattheios in front of them, crimping a paper that seems to be a document.
"How many times do I have to tell you to do your jobs correctly?!"
Ramina nearly jumped in her place when Mr. Mattheios' dangerous deep voice echoed on the surroundings.
"W-We're so sorry—"
Ramina saw how he breathed heavily, anger is visible on his handsome face. "Sorry?! You put our company in danger and you'll just say sorry?! Do you know how much I worked for this, huh?! Only to have a bunch of stupid people like you?!" he shouted angrily.
"S-Sir—"
"You're all fired!" Mr. Mattheios' said in finality before walking out of the scene.
Ramina's lips parted in shock. "W-What..." the heck?
Mrs. Fujimoto immediately came towards the employees who were crying already because of embarrassment and disappointment.
Ramina glanced at the CEO once again and was shocked to know that he was looking at her too. Her heart immediately reacted when their eyes locked.
"Ms. Montalvo, to my office."
She looked down, a bit uncertain if she'll go with him or not.
"Ms. Montalvo!"
Ramina looked up and nodded. "Y-Yes, boss."
Because of what she witnessed, she can't help but fear him. He's a monster when it comes to business.
"Ruthless," Ramina whispered to herself.
When they entered Percy's office, she stopped in front of his table. Percy on the other hand came towards his swivel chair and sat on it.
"What's my schedule for today?" he coldly asks while loosening his tie.
Ramina gulped but immediately responded. "You have a meeting with Mr. Laurel at 9 AM and with Mr. Gregorio at 10 AM, sir."
Percy raised a brow, getting pissed. "I said, what is my schedule for today... I did not say 'this morning'. Is that really all?" he asks.
Ramina nodded, getting pissed too. "Yes, sir. You only have two meetings for today," she coldly uttered.
He sucks in air through his teeth. "You probably saw the commotion earlier?" he uttered.
Ramina just nod. "Yes, boss. I was there," she told him.
Percy licked his lower lip, a sign that he did not like what he heard. "That is what they get once they disobey my order. How about you, Ms. Montalvo?" he asks as he intently looks at her soul.
Ramina shook her head. "I won't dare to disobey your orders, boss," she says what he wanted to hear.
Percy let out a small smirk. "Glad to know that."
Ramina did her work very well so her boss won't say something wrong with her. She doesn't want to experience what happened to the employees that day.Ramina was in her office, reading some documents on her email when Percy suddenly called her over the telephone. She certainly holds the telephone and put it in her ears while still reading a document. "Do you want anything, boss?" she asks."I want coffee," he said on the other line before ending the call.Ramina's lips parted. She was sure that his boss is cold and ruthless as hell but doesn't he knows how to say 'thanks' at least? She was frowning all the time as she make his coffee. She should be professional but right at that moment, she just wanted to throw the coffee to his boss. She doesn't like what happened the other day. A boss must not treat his employees that way. They work for him and he must be thankful fo
Days passed like a blur, Ramina was busy working to give her daughter a comfortable life. Sometimes, Percy will be rude to her but she chose to understand. All of it will be worth it once she gives her daughter a comfortable life.As usual, Ramina woke up early in the morning. Except that today, her eyes were puffy because of crying her frustrations last night. She went directly to the bathroom and did her thing before going out wearing only her white robe.Prescelle was still sleeping deeply in the bed when she glanced at her. Ramina went in front of the vanity mirror to apply some make-up on her face. For a moment, she busied herself watching her reflection in the mirror. It's been a long time since she saw her reflection, she didn't have the chance to because she was busy.Ramina has a natural contoured hairline making her face look intimidating, angled eyebrows that made her look like a rich momma, angled cheekbones
Ramina roamed her eyes around to survey the environment. Everybody was busy minding their own business. There wasn't anything strange about them.Ramina sighed. "I guess, I was just overthinking."On the other side, the chef was seen in the kitchen cleaning up a table. A mischievous grin was plastered on her lips while doing so.'All people are so easy to fool, especially the workers of this company with a bunch of stupid people,' the chef said in her thoughts.A moment after, the earpiece she was wearing vibrated, a sign that someone was trying to contact her."[How is it going, Rabeya?]"The woman named Rabeya started to roam her eyes around to see if anyone was listening to her and when she noticed no one, she started to take off her apron."My job is done, Dad. The CEO will be gone soon," Rabeya whispered.
After the turmoil or let it be the 'incident' yesterday, Rabeya Tisha Llardo became the gossip of the employees in the company. Everywhere you depart, you will give attention to her name. Every time you will go out, you will notice her face in a newspaper naming names about her.Ramina did not foresee that the incident would go out that fast. She never assumed how momentous and well-known their CEO is."Ramina! Can I have some of your time, please? I just want to talk to you about the incident that happened yesterday." Ramina immediately stopped walking when Mrs. Fujimoto appeared beside her.Ramina glanced at the files she was holding before providing the lady an apologetic smile. "Can we do that later during our hiatus? I need to ratify these papers to Mr. Mattheios," she said.Mrs. Fujimoto nods her head understandingly. "Yes, right. Work first. See you later!" she uttered before leavi
The atmosphere between the two people inside the office was heavy as they converse about what happened yesterday at the company. Ramina, who was sitting comfortably in a chair, and Mrs. Fujimoto beside her were the ones talking. It was their hiatus when Ramina came to Mrs. Fujimoto's office just what they talked to earlier. Ramina told her what happened without neglecting even a sole detail. "I was at the cafeteria to order a lunch for Mr. Mattheios. While ordering, I noticed that our chef had changed. It was usually the old woman serving and cooking the foods, right?" Ramina uttered. Mrs. Fujimoto nodded. "Yes, it was Chef Amelia. She worked for our company for almost a decade now. She was out for work yesterday because her grandson got sick," she pinpointed. "How did that woman even enter the company?" Ramina confusedly raises a question.Mrs. Fujimoto shook her head in a manner that showed how unhappy she was. "I don't know either.
After that night, they became casual at work. Ramina could not deny the fact that something had changed with the way she usually sees him. For her, he is not just the CEO of their company because he is more than that when you get to know him better. Many people had misunderstood his actions. They see him as a ruthless man without a heart. But for her, he is not that kind of person. She defined him as a responsible man and not like a ruthless CEO. Ramina was seen in her office, sitting comfortably on a chair while facing her laptop on the desk. She has been busy for the past few days that she always forgot to check on her daughter. Good thing, Yaya Grace did not stop sending her updates about the deeds of her daughter.A moment after, a loud ring coming from the telephone filled the room. Ramina let out a sigh before bending over to get the telephone. "Hello, this is Ms. Montalvo speaking," she uttered. "Good day! I just want to set an appointment with Mr. Mattheios later at 9 AM.
"Where did I go wrong? I loved him with all my heart! I cared for him right! W-Why did he still abandon me? W-Why did he betray me?!" Ramina winced while being attentive to Nicole's rants about her boyfriend. Ramina knows that she's suffering an extreme heartbreak recalling that she loved her boyfriend so much. Watching her friend being like this because of a man made her furious for a reason. With a heavy heart and eyes filled with tears, Nicole crouched her head and sobbed. "Ramina, tell me... A-Am I not enough?" she weakly uttered.Maria Nicole and her ex-boyfriend had been in a relationship for almost two years. It was her longest relationship among the guys she dated before. She admit that she never saw this coming. Nicole believed that her boyfriend only love her and no one else. She stayed faithful to her partner regardless of what they had gone through in their lives. But she wasn't expecting him to do this in return for all the goodness she showed to him. He dated a girl...
Upon the realization, Ramina immediately stood up and greeted her boss. "H-Hello. I didn't know you were here," Ramina uttered. Ramina looked down when she felt her daughter pulling the hem of her shirt. "Mommy . . ." "Is that your daughter?" Percy asked. He wasn't surprised to know about that but there's something in him that somehow made him feel . . . disappointed.Ramina looked at him and smiled. "Ah, yes. This is Prescelle, my daughter," she said, gently pulling her daughter in front of her. "Prescelle, baby . . . Say 'hi' to Mr. Mattheios," Ramina whispered.Prescelle hid in between her mother's leg. "Mommy . . ." She pouted. Ramina let out an awkward chuckle. "Prescelle is a shy kid. I'm sorry," she said. Percy looked at her. "No, it's okay. I'm sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable. I just wanted to confirm if it was you because I want to say something," he seriously stated. Ramina looked at her daughter once again before looking back at him. "Yes, what is it?" Percy c
One sun-drenched afternoon, the trio found themselves in a local park, drawn by the allure of the outdoors and the company they shared. Children's laughter resonated in the air, harmonizing with the pleasant rustling of leaves and the distant hum of a breeze. A picturesque tableau of families engrossed in picnics and lively play surrounded them.Percy, sitting cross-legged on the grass, watched as Prescelle's eyes flickered with curiosity at the sight of the swings.Ramina looked at her daughter when she notice her looking at the kids playing on the swings. "Prescelle, would you like to go on the swings?" Prescelle pursed her lips with a hint of shyness. "Maybe later, Mom."Percy leaned in, his eyes twinkling with an idea. "Prescelle, did you know that swings were invented ages ago by someone who was enchanted by the magic of play?"Prescelle looked at him, intrigued. "Really? Who invented them?"Percy flashed a playful grin. "It was none other than a brilliant inventor named Charles
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow across the cityscape as Ramina and Percy walked out of the office together. The weight of the day's work seemed to lift off their shoulders as they shared light banter, a bond growing stronger with each passing interaction. It had been weeks since the unsettling incident with Zeus, and amidst the challenges, something unexpected had blossomed between them.Ramina found herself drawn to Percy's strength and compassion, his unwavering support during her ordeal resonating deeply. And Percy, despite his initial reservations about forming personal connections at work, found himself captivated by Ramina's resilience and the genuine kindness she exuded.Their conversations began to extend beyond office matters, delving into their life stories, dreams, and aspirations. They were both surprised by the ease with which they opened up to each other, sharing not just their triumphs but also their vulnerabilities. Their connection grew de
The dimly lit office was heavy with tension as Percy stared at the evidence spread across his desk. A series of threatening messages, filled with malice, addressed to Rabeya, had been discovered, and Percy had managed to uncover the source of these vile messages - Zeus Amelio Ford. Percy's face tightened as he absorbed the information. His commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for his company's employees was unwavering.Without hesitation, he picked up the phone, calling an emergency meeting with the company's top executives, including Zeus himself. The mahogany door of the conference room swung open, and Zeus entered, his face a mask of bewilderment as he took in the stern faces that greeted him. Percy stood at the head of the table, his voice dripping with authority as he addressed Zeus, "Zeus Amelio Ford, you stand accused of sending death threats to one of our employees, Ramina. Is this true?"Zeus shifted uncomfortably, his eyes darting around the room before
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Percy and Rabeya found themselves at a cozy restaurant, sitting across from each other. The dim lighting and the soft music in the background created an intimate atmosphere. They both tried to maintain a sense of normalcy, but the unspoken tension hung in the air."So, how was your day?" Percy asked, trying to break the ice.Rabeya smiled, grateful for the attempt at light conversation. "It was busy, as usual. But it went well, thanks to your help with the tasks."He grinned, pleased to have made a positive impact. "Glad I could be of assistance. Teamwork makes the dream work, right?""Absolutely," she replied, and they shared a small chuckle. As the evening progressed, they delved into various topics, ranging from work-related matters to their personal interests. Each passing moment felt more comfortable than the last, and the unease they had felt at work slowly dissipated."I didn't expect all this to happen," Rabeya admitted, her gaze dropping t
The night air was filled with laughter and music as Percy stumbled out of the celebration with his employees. The festivities had been joyous, and everyone had a bit too much to drink. As he walked towards his car, Percy realized he couldn't keep his thoughts to himself any longer. He fumbled for his phone, trying to dial Rabeya's number. His heart raced with a mix of excitement and anxiety. Finally, after a few attempts, he managed to call her. The phone rang a few times before Rabeya picked up, sounding a bit surprised by the late-night call."Boss? Is everything alright?" Rabeya asked with concern in her voice.Percy hesitated for a moment, feeling the effects of the alcohol making his thoughts blur. He took a deep breath and decided to be honest with her, no matter how awkward it might be."No, Ms. Montalvo, everything is not alright. I need to tell you something," Percy said, his words slurred slightly."Okay, go ahead," Rabeya replied, sensing that something was amiss."I... I d
After lunch, Ramina went to Percy's office just like what he told her. "We are having a huge deal with the Gregor Company. I want you to have a work collaboration with Mrs. Fujimoto. Review the deal, revise the contract, and send it to me. I will work on it and present it on the board of directors. We need to do our best. Do you understand?" Ramina was listening intently, taking down notes on her laptop while Percy is discussing. "Are you listening to me?" Ramina stopped typing on her laptop and glanced at him. "Yes, why?" she asked in confusion. Percy's eyebrows furrowed. He leaned on his chair and crosses his arms. "You're literally busy typing whatever the hell is that on your laptop while I'm talking," he coldly said. Ramina was taken aback. "Uhm. . . I'm literally taking down notes on my laptop, boss." She blinked. Percy paused. "Oh. . ."Ramina pursed her lips to refrain herself from chuckling. That was kinda hilarious. She's often using her laptop whenever he's discussin
When Ramina came home that night, she received a message from Percy saying that she should get back to work by tomorrow. Because of that, Ramina fell asleep with an anxious thinking that something bad might had happen while she was gone. Ramina woke up the next morning and immediately dressed up for work. While she was having her breakfast, she called Vina to talk to her daughter. It only rings for a few before Vina answered. "[Whoever you are. . .fuck you.]" She said in a sleepy voice. Ramina winced and chuckled. "Good morning, my dear sister." She heard her gasped. "[Oh, damn. Ramina, is this you?!]" Ramina chuckled because her voice suddenly changed in a panic tone. "[God, I didn't know! I'm sorry!]" Ramina laughed in response. "I was just gonna ask you if Prescelle's already awake." "[Oh. . .She's still asleep. What time will you fetch her?]" "After work." "[Okay, I will tell her that you called. Are you leaving for work already?]" "Yeah. I'm still eating breakfast." "[
"Where have you been?" Ramina asked Vina when she saw her arrive at the pool. Vina let out a wide smile. "Oh, I just went to my room to change my clothes." She laughed. Ramina smiled and surveyed her outfit. "That bikini looked beautiful on you, Vina," she said. "I still have a new pair of bikinis in my room. Do you want to change?" Vina asks. Ramina shook her head. "Nah, I'm good. I need to watch after Prescelle," she said. Vina nodded. "Okay, okay. I will go there and talk to our relatives for a while. Are you sure, you're okay here?" Ramina nodded. "Yes." When Vina left, Ramina looked out for her daughter. Prescelle was on the side of the pool, carrying a beach ball while being chased by other kids. Ramina's eyes widened. She might slip because of the wet floor! "Prescelle, slow down!" Ramina shouted before walking their distance. "Mommy!" Ramina almost had a heart attack. Prescelle nearly slipped! Good thing she caught her immediately. "Oh, God. Baby, please slow down
"Is everyone here already?" Everyone gathered their attention to Roma when she stood up. Their other relatives just came by themselves. "I guess, we're all here already. Feel free to roam around the house, the maids already prepared the food too. It's in the pool area." "Yay! Pool!" The kids started to chant and hop in joy. Roma just laughed after seeing everyone getting excited. She always wanted to witness this special moment. For sure, it will be the most important memory in her life that won't be forgotten. "Ramina! Let's got to the pool, shall we?"Ramina diverted her attention to Vina. Everyone is busy chitchatting with each other, creating a loud noise all over the living room. "Mommy . . ." Ramina looked at her daughter. "Yes, baby?" Prescelle pouted. "I wanna play . . ." Right, when Prescelle said that, her cousins— Ruby, Lou, and Irelia came. The kids are pushing each other so cutely, probably hesitant about who should approach Prescelle. "U-Uhm . . . Hi? Do you wan
