Chapter 149

Gwen's POV

The voice sounded exactly like the one I heard while being held captive at Jake's. It was the same voice suggesting that Jake should have me dead.

I had no doubts about it because I clearly knew what I heard and prior to that, I knew that I recognized the voice from somewhere, but who would believe me?

I needed to remain vigilant and discuss the situation with Andrew as soon as possible. He had always suspected Rickard of having impure intentions towards him, so there was a good chance Andrew would believe me.

“Gwen, are you here?” Rickard called out, startling me out of my reverie.

“Uhm, yes,..yeah, I am fine” I said, forcing a smile across my face.

“Good!” He replied sternly. “Excuse me” He added, walking out of the room.

Andrew and I got discharged from the hospital the next day. Fortunately, the wound was not too deep and did not come into contact with any of his vital organs.

Andrew was subjected to bed rest for a full week while I was completely fine. I di
