Chapter 12 Dating

This was the first time in several months that Serena got off work on time. She listened to the advice and wanted to take a break seriously. Of course, the main reason was that she heard Chen Xiaoyu talking on the phone.

She never avoided people when she talked on the phone, and her words showed that she hoped James would come and pick her up to spend the weekend together.

It was unclear what the person on the other end of the phone answered, but Chen Xiaoyu was smiling the whole time, so she must have answered very well.

Serena changed to a new workstation, which is highly concealed. She can relax while fishing and receive timely gossip, which makes her fully experience the little beauty of being a social animal . In this respect, Chen Xiaoyu's complaint is quite good.

After work, she immediately got into the elevator and became the first person to leave work in the secretarial department. Even finding her car among the crowds of cars in the underground parking lot was a breeze. So, people shouldn't go to work!

Her car was parked next to the pillar in Area C. When Serena arrived, the first thing she saw was not the car but Chen Xiaoyu.

Why the hell is she here?

Chen Xiaoyu seemed to be looking for something. When she saw Serena, her eyes lit up and she quickly ran over. Her long curly hair was casually tied into a small bun, and when she ran, the curls bounced up and down, making her look cute and charming.

"Sister Serena! I finally found you!"

Chen Xiaoyu fanned herself with her little hands, and she was panting after running a few steps.

Serena could only smile, "Xiaoyu, it's time to get off work now. Let's talk about it next Monday if you have anything to say."

"Sister Serena, I can't wait until next Monday. I have to tell you."

Chen Xiaoyu bowed 90 degrees and said, "Sorry!"

"What is this for?"

"I'm sorry, Sister Serena, I didn't mean to steal your project. I don't know why I changed people. I didn't really want to go against Sister Luna, but Mr. Forrest said so. As secretaries, we definitely can't go against the boss. But fortunately, I'll still follow you in the office!"

That’s not necessary!

Serena said, "It's normal to change people for a project. You don't have to worry about it or apologize. Luna is a very experienced secretary. You can ask her any questions you don't understand about the project."

Chen Xiaoyu still bowed , "Also, Sister Serena, I didn't want to change that seat. I just passed by the counter at lunch. I wanted to buy sunscreen, so I chatted with Brother James. Who knew... He is just like this, sometimes he is very domineering, don't blame him!"

Even before the engagement, the hostess had already struck the right tone.

Serena patted her shoulder and said, "Xiaoyu, Mr. Forrest's arrangement must have a reason. It's not a big deal to just change the position. If you keep being so polite, I will be unhappy."

Chen Xiaoyu nodded heavily as if she was very touched. "Sister Serena, sister-in-law, you are actually quite easy to get along with. I had some misunderstandings about you before, you don't mind, do you?"

"Just kidding, of course I don't mind. If you're okay, I'll..."

"Sister-in-law!" Chen Xiaoyu suddenly held her hand, "Are you going on a date?"

She looked around and moved closer. "Don't be afraid, I won't say anything. My mom saw you dating before, and it sounded like a blind date, so I asked her not to tell anyone. Who knew she would be such a big mouth? Anyway, I support you! Brother William has been gone for three years, and you have been with him for three years. You are so affectionate!"

Serena pulled her hand away without leaving a trace, "Thank you for your understanding."

Chen Xiaoyu narrowed her eyes and smiled. "Not only me, but brother James also supports you. Even though he doesn't say it, how can you have time to go out and play if you have too much work? So I think he is thinking about you by changing people this time."

"Is that so? Thank you for your understanding." Serena smiled again, "I will go and have fun now, and I will never let you down."

"Well, Sister Serena, we have a date tonight, so you must do your best!"

The little girl was lively and gave her an exaggerated "cheer up" gesture. Serena's mouth froze for a moment, not knowing whether to return a similar gesture.

Before she could come to a conclusion, Chen Xiaoyu suddenly smiled sweetly, "Brother James!"

Serena turned around immediately and saw James standing behind her. She didn't know when he came.

Fate is so magical that those who try desperately to hide will be hit first.

Chen Xiaoyu jumped in front of him and said, "Brother James, are you here to pick me up?"

"Why didn't you say anything when you came down here?"

"I was supposed to wait for you up there, but my sister-in-law was in a hurry for a date and walked very fast, so I had to hurry down here. I have to apologize for what you did!"

James raised his eyebrows and looked at Serena, the meaning in his eyes was self-evident, you dare to ask her to apologize?

Serena lowered her eyes and said respectfully, "Mr. Forrest, I..."

"Brother James! My sister-in-law didn't ask me to apologize. I did it on my own accord. Okay, okay, this matter is over." Chen Xiaoyu made a cross sign, "Let's not delay my sister-in-law's date!"

"My sister-in-law is going on a date again. It seems that losing a project has no effect on her."

James emphasized the word "again", but Serena pretended not to hear it. "All projects belong to the company. If the company gives it to me , I 'll take it. If the company doesn't give it to me, I'll take it too, right, Fifth Brother?"

She used his words to block him, and finally replied with "Five Brothers". Serena always knew how to say things in the most irritating way.

James' eyes fell on her lips. The teeth marks were no longer obvious. She was very cunning and bit him much harder than she bit herself.

Further down is a white neck and faintly visible collarbone. In order to meet another man, she even changed into a light blue dress that just reached her knees and created ripples when the wind blew.

Since William's death, Serena has put her colorful private clothes into cold storage , and has been wearing black, white and gray suits all year round, dressing like a widow. Now, she doesn't pretend anymore, and she looks just the right amount of beautiful, charming people without even realizing it .

James' eyes were filled with dark waves, "Was the sister-in-law's date arranged by the second sister?"

"Um."

"You should learn from your second sister." Chen Xiaoyu begged, "Brother James, give your eldest sister-in-law more vacation time in the future."

James touched his lips as if he was really thinking about this suggestion. His slender fingers scratched the scabs. Serena's scalp tightened, fearing that he would say something he shouldn't, so she hurriedly said, "Nothing else, I'm leaving first."

Before the two men gave any further instructions, Serena quickly got into the car, started the car, and ran away.

Chen Xiaoyu looked at the tram that was going away and sighed, "It's really gratifying that sister-in-law is so positive, don't you think?"

She looked back and saw James slowly revealing an ambiguous smile, and then said sincerely:

"Yes, I am happy for my brother."

Chen Xiaoyu was delighted. James' performance during the days since he returned to China had exceeded her expectations, so she could ignore those minor details.

She took his arm and said, "Okay, let's go too. There's a popular restaurant I really want to check in at!"

James didn't move. He called out , "Sun Heng!"

"Mr. Shen."

Mr. Shen pulled his hand out lightly, loosening his tie and saying, "Xiaoyu wants to check in at the restaurant, send her there."

Chen Xiaoyu was stunned. "What about you? Aren't you going with me?"

"I remembered I had a video conference to attend. I'll come find you later."

"Brother James, you stood me up yesterday! You said you would take me home but you left first, and you did it again today! I'm going to tell Grandpa that you bullied me!"

The girl stamped her feet in anxiety, and Sun Heng couldn't help shaking his head. Threatening like this was like dancing in a minefield .

Sure enough, James narrowed his eagle eyes and said , "Chen Xiaoyu, you are not the only one I can choose as my marriage partner. Didn't your grandfather tell you?"

Chen Xiaoyu's expression changed instantly, "You and I... I'm different from them!"

"Yes, you are different." James remembered something and softened his tone, "So Xiaoyu, don't waste this difference easily."

After saying this, he took a long step forward and left without looking back.
