CHAPTER FIFTY TWO: DO I LOVE HIM?

DO I LOVE HIM?

Winnie.

I entered his room to drop his food and found him awake. I kept it on the stool and sat by his side.

“Why did you do something so stupid? Do you know how worried I was?” I asked him with tears in my eyes.

I didn't want to cry but I couldn't help it. He really got me worried.

“You were worried?” He asked.

“Of course I was. How are you feeling?” I asked him, touching his forehead.

“I'm alive” he answered. I sighed and stood up to adjust his blanket.

“I'm sorry, Winnie. I'm sorry for cursing at you, I'm sorry for treating you terribly”. He apologized. I couldn't help the tears that welled up in my eyes again.

“If you're sorry, then get better”. I said, wiping my eyes.

He nodded and faintly smiled.

“Do you want me here?” I asked, to be sure and his response surprised me.

“Yes” he answered, surprising both himself and myself.
