Chapter 3

~JASMINE'S POV~

The rest of the day ends up going quite smoothly. Aiden and I are back to our usual talking selves up in each other's space. My mood has been uplifted constantly replaying the events that happened earlier in the day with him. The last class of the day is done as I make my way to my locker and in the process of removing my books a bright yellow sticky note falls out.

I picked it up and read the words on it which said,

Hi Muffin :)

Go straight home and pack up a bag for the weekend. Don't worry about Jer and your dad I already talked to them and remember to pack your costume.

I am still in the process of decrypting the note when I hear Roly's voice,' I knew it! I knew it! You go on a road trip just the two of you. I am convinced this is the universe's doing'

'Don't you have better things to do than sneak up on me,' I snort out.

' Actually, I have plans with Tyler this weekend,' she says trying her best not to act excited.

' Like that's not weird at all,' I tell her laughing as I shut my locker and she sticks out her tongue at me like the big baby she is.

' Me and him are planning to....' I quickly cut her sentence short bringing up my palm to her mouth muffling the remaining part of her words.

' You know what I'm good. I don't want to know,' I tell her causing her to narrow her eyes at me before she licks my hands causing me to squeal in shock.

' You cannot be serious. You are disgusting,' I tell her scrunching up my face in distaste.

'You love me,' she says winking at me as we make it to her car both of us getting in. She pulls out of the school parking lot.

Before I know it we are back at the house. Roly quickly rushes into my room and being the best friend she is she grabs a bag and begins packing my clothes. I, on the other hand, get into the shower taking my time not because I want to impress Aiden but more because a girl must smell good.

I spend quite some time in the shower and when I am done I find Roly has already picked out the clothes I am to wear tonight. 

' Sit down I need to do your makeup,' she says pulling me to sit behind my dresser.

'It's a road trip, not a party Roly,' I tell her laughing at her level of dedication to making me look good.

' Shut up and let me do my job,' she says going ahead to doll me up.

By the time she was done, I was quite in awe at her work because, to be honest, I did look different the good kind of different. The girl staring back at me in the mirror looked stunning I could not believe it was me. I wear a black crop top with the print She's Fire and she knows it matching it up with a pair of jean shorts and sneakers. For once my hair is down falling in waves against my shoulders.

' To be honest Jas I would be jealous of you too,' Roly says admiring my reflection just like me.

' I love you,' I tell her pulling her in for a hug as she hugs me bug whispering how she loves me too.

We then walk down the stairs and to my surprise, Aiden is already here playing PS with Jer as they crack jokes the sound of his laughter filling the room. I interrupt their game time as Aiden's eyes lock onto my outfit his eyes sending a warm surge through me. I break the silence by clearing my throat as he stands up and walks up to me a smirk finding its way onto his face.

He looks quite charming with his hair all ruffed up, and his sunglasses neatly tucked into the neckline of his shirt not to mention how his shirt hugs his body showing his built body. He smells of soap, leather and expensive single malt scotch making me week in the knees and he is quick to slip his arms around my waist whispering in my ear low enough for only me to hear, ' You should dress up like this more often

I shiver in anticipation as though waiting for something to happen as my cheeks redden further as he slightly pulls away and I am left releasing a breath I had no idea I was even holding. I then realised that all this time Jer and Roly were observing our little exchange their faces in slight shock.

I clear my throat getting rid of the awkward silence as we both head towards the car. Jer and Roly tell us bye and help me load my stuff into the car before Aiden drives off and I can't help but look forward to the weekend ahead.

' Wanna tell me where we are headed?' I finally ask the question that has been burning inside me.

' Just somewhere you'll see,' he says oh so casually like it's the most normal thing in the world.

I suddenly feel anxious and begin to play with my fingers in my lap when I feel Aiden's warm hand encasing mine.

' Hey you have nothing to worry about Muffin I would never hurt you,' he says forcing my gaze to meet his and I notice the sincerity behind his eyes.

' I know,' I murmur lowly which is partly true because something about him makes me trust him blindly which should be alarming to me but it isn't.

' How about you answer me this, between cereal and milk which one goes into the bowl first?' he asks his hand never leaving mine his skin warm against mine.

' That's a stupid question,' I snort out amused at the question since the answer well the answer is obvious.

' Then answer it,' says Aiden a small smile playing on his lips as he cruizes through the streets.

' Cereal it always goes in first,' I say playing with our fingers together ignoring the tingles that run through my body.

'You're officially weird,' he laughs shaking his head the sound sitting right with me since he rarely laughs and always gives off this cold demeanour.

' Says the guy who puts milk in the bowl first like you honestly cannot be serious,' I say shaking my head in amusement.

'It works best for me,' he shrugs before we both look at each other and burst out into laughter at our silliness.

The car then goes silent and it's comfortable silence if you ask me as I think to myself how I would never have seen the day when I Jamine Avery would be sitted in the same car as Aiden King the bad boy cracking jokes and laughing our lungs out.  Before I know it I fall asleep the last thing I hear are the words If only you knew muffin if only you knew and then I black out entirely.
